Common Questions and Answers about What does ipratropium do

Avatar n tn hi, my question is can we mix albuterol, ipratropium, pulmacort together and the order is give these medication together by nebulizer.
Avatar f tn I purchased the Omron Portable Ultrasonic Nebulizer and am using the vials of Albuterol and Ipratropium. I can only use 1/2 vial because more than that speeds my heart up too much. Can I save the last 1/2 of the vial for later use? Does anybody know of a more affordable way to get the medicine I need? I am paying out of pocket and this economy gets harder every day it seems like.
757137 tn?1347196453 Often the above two are given in combination. Does anyone know in what way they are different? Do they have a synergistic effect? Does one have worse side effects? I can't seem to find the information I am looking for on the internet. Thank you for your help.
Avatar f tn I would like to ask if the ipratropium inhaler is available with the combination of salbutamol and what brand?
Avatar f tn I use Duoneb which is a combination of albuterol and ipratropium. You are making me wonder if I can manage with ipratropium alone. I have never tried it. I will ask my lung doctor. I use a portable nebulizer. With that I can take as little as I need (or as much).
Avatar n tn If you are taking Duoneb there is no point in taking Spiriva because Spiriva is related to the ipratropium that is a consitituant of Duoneb. Also Spiriva is extremely drying which may be why you are feeling so uncomfortable. To be using Duoneb five or six times a day you would have to be close to death. Obviously you aren't, so you can cut back without any problem. I have serious COPD and my use of Duoneb averages 3.5 vials daily. The big question is - how bad is your COPD?
Avatar n tn In addition, if the cough, even in part, is due to asthma, the Combivent® Inhalation Aerosol (ipratropium bromide and albuterol sulfate) is inadequate therapy for asthma. There are times when cough is the primary symptom or the only symptom of asthma so a trial of an inhaled steroid would be warranted. If vigorous therapy for asthma does not reduce your cough, especially when combined with nasal washes and the use of a nasal steroid inhaler, then you should see an ENT.
Avatar n tn How are you testing his O2 Stats to see that it is 81? What do you do to raise the O2 (Oxygen) levels? How much time does it take before the levels rise to normal? I suggest his blood gasses be checked to make sure his blood has the right percent of oxygen circulating the blood system. We need the right mix of carbon dioxide and oxygen in our lungs to avoid an asthma attack. During an attack it is important to not breath faster, try deep, regular/slow breaths.
Avatar f tn Hi, I did a search for interactions between Duolin (salbutamol/ipratropium bromide) and doxyfyline and didn't find anything, but a doctor would definitely be better equipped to answer your question. If your symptoms aren't getting any better, despite using the medication, you should definitely talk to your doctor.

Avatar n tn The problem at this point is that is a provides short relief and has choked me to the point of passing out. Could you please tell me what is causing this reaction. What would be a better method and inhaler. This discussion is related to Reaction to Asthma Medications.
Avatar m tn nasal sprays (dymista, Ipratropium Bromide), singulair, sudafed, benedryl, various antibiotics. My pcp said I had a sinus infection, but my ent says that's bs and I'm just overcongested. I just want my life back. I'd like to go to bed without fearing the awful feeling that morning brings.
Avatar n tn What exactly do you have? I have emphysema and coughing and phlegm is not an issue for me. Do you have bronkitis?
Avatar f tn About a year ago I developed what I thought was the flu. I went to the dr. Who gave me antibiotics. It went away for a few days but then came back. My symptoms were running nose, nasal drainage down my throat filling my lungs with gunk, and subsequent cough. After 3 more trips to my family Dr. and three more, and different antibiotics, I demanded something was wrong and I'm not taking any more antibiotics. I went to see an ENT and he said it was my deviated septum causing the problems.
Avatar n tn Xopenx 1.25 mg and Ipratropium Bromide 0.02%.
Avatar n tn Hopefully they have cultured your sputem. Sometimes they want to do a broncoscopic exam to get the sample. I disagree, but this is often the protocol. Have they prescribed an electrical albuterol inhaler, or any asthmatic meds? The albuterol inhaler will break up the mucus. There are other asmthmatic meds you can use in the inhaler. The use of prednisone while you have an infection is controversial. I know they use it.
Avatar f tn I have never been recommended to a specialist because of my poor financial status nor have any of the medical people detailed what to expect, what to do or not do, etc. They didn't perform tests to discover what actually brought on COPD (i.e. fungus, type of infection, genetic mutation, etc.). I feel as if these people look at COPD as a "socially unacceptable disease brought on by my actions" and presume it is their right to disparage everything else I do or say.
Avatar f tn What do you do if you have loved someone for 3 years and you put up with their weed habits but you never wanted a guy who smokes but you still gave it a try but you know that that is not what you want but you love them?
Avatar f tn I need some advice,. I've been struggling with extreme amounts of sinus mucus that overtakes me. This has gone on for 8 yrs after a bad sinus infection, this started and won't calm down with standard treatmnt. Iv'e had ph probe , sinus surgery (ethmoidectomy) , take prevacid 2x day along with hbp meds. I have sle lupus and wonder if there is a connection. Nothing stops this excessive choking white stringy mucus except a long prednisone burst..
Avatar n tn but I do not take any medication, just nasal steroid sprays and nasal rinses and it does not do anything. I even had sinus surgery - total ethmoidectomy, opening the ostia of the maxillary sinuses and partial turbinectomy. along with a steroid Kenalog IM injection - still did not help. But maybe your's could be the Prempro. Ask your doctor, make sure it's your ENT doctor.
Avatar m tn Hi. I'm 15 male having a hard time this and the previous month with coughing. I have visited countless doctors, each time with a different and (with my knowledge) inaccurate diagnosis.
1306047 tn?1333243591 What I am concerned about is what do I do now? Is there anything I can and should do? Can hyperinflation correct itself? So far I exercise like crazy with swimming and yoga? I'm assuming studying and incorporating breathing exercises into my routine would be helpful. I certainly don't want to over react about this, but I can feel it every breath and when I twist or other movements there is a pain-like sensation in the area.
