My doc perscribed Biaxin xl 2x 500 and prednisone 50mg 4 days if needed. Last night I was so bad I took the pred at 8pm. This morning I took the biaxin at 6am. It's been about 8 hours and my heart has sped up from about 70 to 85-90 for about an hour and won't come down. I'm afraid to take my next dose of prednisone but I've been on short bursts before with no issue. Is a resting heart rate around 90 something to be worried about?

allmy dr told me was that certin quinolones do give false positives. my med was biaxin xl 500mg. but that was all he would tell me. he seemed to be really busy. now i need to find out if that is one of the 13 quinolones. if you can assist me further please do so. or advize me where to search. thanks .

I understand that you said it was the last question, but I do not plan on getting tested and would just like to know one last thing Dr. After taking the biaxin xl last night for the first time, this morning the sore throat is gone, as well as the stiff neck and the very low grade fever, which was only their last night for about 15 mins before it left (and is gone today as well). Does this mean the biaxin worked and that it was a bacterial sickness (and not hiv).
