Avatar n tn I have alports syndrome(kidney disease) so while there I had blood work done to check on my kidney functions. My AST levels were verrrrryyyyy high....631. ALT was 483. Also glucose was higher than usual and Neutrophils were pretty high while Lymphocytes were very low. I'm only 21 and very concerned. Could any of this have anything to do with my kidneys? Can all this be just because I was very sick?
Avatar n tn At that time my Fasting Blood sugar level was in range around 92mg/dL while my PP sugar levels were high and out of range around 195mg/dL. From Aug 2008 to June 2009 to manage my diabetes my doctor put me on Brand - GLYCIPHAGE SR 500mg (Generic - Metformin HCL 500mg) Dosage - 1/2 Tab morning and evening which managed my sugar levels but it lead to severe weight loss.
Avatar n tn Well, the fact that the first poster's husband did a comparison test and his number was normal at 86 would seem to indicate that the machine is NOT giving false numbers. Her blood sugar probably really IS that high, and this is extremely dangerous -- could be life-threatening. It really is imperative that she have a true lab test done to see if there really is a blood sugar problem.
1538488 tn?1331483305 Your 8-10 hour fasting levels indicate prediabetes yet your A1c averages 205 mg/dl daily - high diabetic glucose levels. Where were these test performed? Same blood draw? What does b/f mean? Please don't make up medical acronyms that only you understand. Testing directly after exercising provides a false positive. Brisk exercise perks your adrenaline which in turn tells your body to produce more glucose for energy. Exercise after eating, not before.
Avatar f tn Your morning glucose levels indicate type 2 diabetes. Try not to eat starchy foods or foods loaded with carbohydrates at night. They turn into sugar after digestion. And no late snacking. The "throughout the day" has no meaning unless they were 2-3 hours after a meal. The sometimes of "192, 263" are high and entering the dangerously high zone. The times to test are mornings before breakfast, before each lunch and dinner meals and 2-3 hours after each meal.
Avatar f tn Talk to your doctor about the meaning of your specific test results or get a copy of your lab results. The lab copy will indicate the range levels low to high. Anywhere in-between is normal. Borderline numbers are warning signs.
Avatar f tn i have been having glucose readings ranging from 350 to 600 and do not have any medical insurance, should i continue to go to the er just to be sent back home.
Avatar n tn I believe there's some confusion on glucose levels so I'll try to clear that up for you. A fasting glucose of 97 mg/dl is not high but is leaning towards the upper range of normal. Normal fasting is between 60/70 to 99 mg/dl Prediabetes is 100 to 125 mg/dl Diabetes is considered 126 mg/dl and above The 5.2% A1c does indicate a slightly elevated level of 103 mg/dl but I would rule that towards your pregnancy.
973741 tn?1342342773 Doctors can test for insulin resistance by doing a glucose tolerance test and testing both glucose levels and insulin levels. If insulin levels are high, even while glucose levels are normal, there is insulin resistance and risk of developing diabetes. Insulin resistance means that the body doesn't respond well to insulin and so high levels of insulin are required.
Avatar n tn First off, congrats on stopping the beer guzzling and I'm glad you posted. Your glucose levels indicate you are pre-diabetic. If your fasting glucose level is 100 to 125 mg/dL, you have a form of pre-diabetes called impaired fasting glucose (IFG), meaning that you are more likely to develop type 2 diabetes but do not have it yet. A level of 126 mg/dL or above means that you have diabetes.
751951 tn?1406632863 A fingerstick or venipuncture at the time of lumbar puncture may therefore be performed to assess peripheral glucose levels in order to determine a predicted CSF glucose value. Decreased glucose levels can indicate fungal, tuburculous or pyogenic infections; lymphomas; leukemia spreading to the meninges; meningoencephalitic mumps; or hypoglycemia.
576054 tn?1217783138 My doctor will be doing tests in a few weeks, but I have had some fairly high glucose levels lately. I also have a history of high blood pressure although that has been better most of the time lately. Tonight all of a sudden I started having a terrible headache and nausea. My glucose level was somewhat high. So either this was due to the glucose levels or due to high blood pressure. Whatever it is, I am so tired of being sick and tired all of the time.
Avatar n tn Diet and exercise can help to lower and control sugar levels and high blood pressure, but this does not mean that he can stop taking his medications. His doctor is the best person to advise him because his doctor will be monitoring his sugar levels and blood pressure on a regularly basis, if not, then he should be (about once a year if everything is stable). With diabetes, it also depends which type he has. Type 2 diabetes can be controlled by diet and exercise, but not always.
Avatar f tn Your TSH isn't as low as we'd expect with thyroid levels that high, but, typically, those are what we might consider hyper thyroid levels. That does depend on whether or not you have symptoms of being hyper. It would be helpful if you could let us know what, if any, symptoms you might have. Also, please tell us whether or not you're currently taking any replacement thyroid hormone medication. If so, what medication(s)/dosage(s) and how long have you been on it/them?
Avatar n tn I have been monitoring my glucose levels for a few days now and was wondering when to go to my doctor. A little history. I am high risk for type II based on family history, two pregnancies with gestational diabetes and I am about 50 lbs overweight. I was also diagnosed with hypoglycemia at 16 (I'm now 32) On Monday I was feeling foggy, trembly and weak so I decided to check my glucose to see how low I was. I was actually at 187.
Avatar n tn ok i have recently taken a urine test because i had some kind of uti they said there was a very high abnormal range of glucose in my urine but when i came back the next day they gave me a blood suger test which was normal does anyone know what may have caused the high glucose in my urine?
Avatar f tn "whether realy i am going to devlop type 1 diabities or else it can be controlled and will continue type II diabities" It is difficult to respond to your post fully when you left out key information. 1.) Your glucose levels - before and after meal 2.) GAD lab ranges - min to max. Lab ranges can vary from lab to lab especially when its country to country. See your copy of the lab test results for ranges. 3.
Avatar m tn I had a full blood check up last week and my glucose levels came back as high for a morning reading at 9.2.
