Avatar f tn Sounds like heat bumps.
Avatar f tn Hives can come and go- but to tell for sure what the cause of this rash is, you need to have a doctor take a look at it and gather more of your medical history. It could also be something like a heat rash or allergy to something- you could try things like changing up your laundry detergent, wearing lose fitting clothing- but your best bet for the fastest resolution is to have a doctor involved.
Avatar f tn What does the rash look like? Describe the rash or post a picture. There are so many things it could be, starting with heat rash because yes you can get it on your legs, so posting a picture or describing it would help. 620048 tn?1358018235 Oh Meg, please do call! Heat very much makes hives worse! I hope you and Dr. can get to the bottom of this. Very hard to find a culprit, but I pray it's not autoimmune and something identifiable that can be stopped. Maybe the specialist can send you to an allergist.
Avatar m tn However the success of these actions has been limited. I would like to know what I can do to get rid of this rash, and stop it from appearing in the first place. I am a fairly athletic person, so you can imagine that this is quite an annoying problem to deal with. I suppose I should also mention that I haven't had this rash all my life, it's only appeared in the past 2 or so years. Any help would be much appreciated.
Avatar m tn If the symptoms still persist then you can apply mild steroid like dermacort. For the itching antihistaminics like Benadryl or Claritin can be taken. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
202436 tn?1326474333 I've noticed Lily has these bumps on her back, stomach/chest and arms. I'm not sure what they are. They don't really look like bug bites to me. She also has this red patchy discoloration under her bottom lip. I don't have a pic of that though. Tell me what you think, please! THanks!
Avatar f tn My dr says that I have heat induced hives and put me on 24 Zyrtec and 25mg of Benedryl. It worked for about a month and now I'm breaking out in hives again when I exercise. I haven't had any allergy tests done yet. A fitness friend of mine thinks that I might have a build up of toxins and when i sweat the toxins are being released. I haven't talked with my dr about that yet. Is there any truth to this? I do drink a good bit of regular soda.
Avatar f tn Me and my husband recently moved into a new apartment complex, the same day we got a new puppy "German Shepherd mix." My husband has been having mosquito look like bites all throughout his body, his back, chest, stomach, he recently just started getting them on the face also. They look like mosquito bites, hives, things like that we don't know if it could be a flea infestation, a bedbug infestation or he's just allergic to the new puppy.
Avatar m tn To confirm the diagnosis, apply a test tube of warm water to the skin of the forearm. If there is any development of hives after 10-15 minutes, then you are having heat urticaria. Treatment of this condition is by antihistaminics, allergy shots and desensitization techniques. I hope that helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar n tn you can give him benedryl if you can get him to take it because it does taste nasty, but i use bactine for my daughters hives which is a topical clear liquid that is cooling and works fast. hives are itchy irregular raise patches of redness and heat can heighten an allergic reaction if your son has been out in the heat when the rash came. it may also be heat rash, but the benedryl and bactine would do him no harm if you give them and they are not what is needed.
Avatar f tn ve concluded its from heating up too much. No matter what I do to keep the temperature down, I end up getting horrible, itchy hives from being too hot. I've always taken benadryl to help get rid of them and I've been cleared by the doc to take it, but I feel bad every time, like its poisoning the baby. I've tried some natural methods to get rid of them, but was wondering if you ladies had any suggestions?
Avatar m tn hi there, i have rashes too after sweating or exposing to heat. do you get it from other circumstances?? for example like after shower or swimming???
Avatar n tn I want to know if an undetected STD can cause hives? This is my 4th day with it and I have never had hives this long before. Could you please let me know, this is stressing me out significantly!
Avatar m tn Hello, From the symptoms it can be contact dermatitis, heat rash , folliculitis, hives or allergies. They are red, itchy, raised areas of skin that appear in varying shapes and sizes. They have a tendency to change size rapidly and to move around, disappearing in one place and reappearing in other places, often in a matter of hours. Many cases of hives are "idiopathic," meaning no cause is known. Others may be triggered by viral infections or medications.
Avatar f tn Ive started to break out in small pimple like hives, and also my face has been breaking out? Is that normal in ftm?
566950 tn?1216658403 You can use cool compresses or a cool bath to reduce irritation and itching, but since hives are a reaction to histamine, antihistamines like Benadryl (diphenhydramine) are usually the most effective treatment. Antihistamines make most children a little drowsy. Avoid the irritant, if you know what it is. ref:http://www.myonlinewellness.
Avatar f tn I started seeing a cluster of these tiny red bumps on my right hand in the beginning of summer in mid-June. I thought it was just heat rash or hives, which is something I get every summer. The pharmacist saw those clusters, and said it didn't look like hives because hives don't cluster in such tiny bumps. He suggested I see a doctor, and that I might need antibiotics. I didn't believe him, and just bought some cortizone to relieve the itching.
Avatar f tn I went to allergy doctors, dermatologist, etc. Finally my gynecologist asked do you want the hives to go away. She said get five accupuncture treatments and it should start going away. I thought she was nuts, but I tried it. After my third visit my hives were about 75% better. I just went two months without getting hives at all. So for anyone who is suffering and having to take antihistimines, there is a better way. I know it sounds crazy, but it worked.
Avatar m tn Some people get hives in response to too much heat or too much cold, or sometimes other triggers (my grandfather apparently gets it from water--my grandmother jokes he's the only boy allergic to soap and water). I don't think it's at all dangerous, just annoying, and the only thing I know of to do is avoid the trigger. Ask your doctor about it, they might be able to give you something for it (I just know it happens, not what to do for it other than avoid).
Avatar n tn Dear Dr Aparna, Thank you for your detail explanation. He told me he ate alot of strawberries for the past 2 weeks. Is this the possible cause? Can anti-histamines be bought in drug stores or it has to be prescribed by doctors?
Avatar n tn I am 26 years old,I have doubts that I may have serious problems, like stomach ulcer.I have all the symptoms, but somehow I am very afraid of Gastroscopy and I am looking for some alternatives..meanwhile,I have some changes on my skin,on my legs below the ankles. It looks like eczema, red spots, they itch very much, not permanently but every other day..and it appears on the other places,at first there was just one spot, then the amount of these itchy spots got growing during the year.
Avatar n tn Hello, Without examination it is difficult confirming a diagnosis but it can be heat urticaria or hives. In this hives develop 2 to 5 minutes after contact with a warm stimulus and it disappears after 1 hour or so. Heat urticaria is diagnosed by apply a test tube of warm water to the skin of the forearm. The characteristic hives should develop within minutes. Take some antihistaminic like Benadryl or Claritin and apply some calamine lotion on the rashes.
Avatar f tn Im just freaking out a little bit. Because I dont know what a flea bite really looks like, what one feels like, or what diseases I could get from them. And none of this helps my anxiety... Could the hives be from worrying that Imay have flea bites? Please Help!
