583580 tn?1231136383 Hi everyone, I just have a question about hormonal changes in women. Here's a little background: I'm 28 (I'll be 29 in May 09), about 1 1/2 months ago I started experiencing some odd changes that have me scratching my head a little.
Avatar f tn Several factors are usually considered to cause acne such as diet, stress, genetic, dirt hormonal imbalances, cosmetics, work-related and drugs. Treatment options include topical and oral antibiotics, topical retinoids, hormonal therapy, dermabrasion , phototherapy and laser resurfacing. Normally a combination of treatments is followed and if nothing proves effective then dermabrasion and laser therapy are useful. You can discuss these treatment options with your dermatologist.

Avatar m tn thank you Binx. You make me feel better. But the cysts won't go? Is that your experience or what they told you? What about later in life - ยก will that effect having children?
Avatar n tn It is very frustrating and confusing, especially when your body begins to do things that you have never experienced. As for the acne, I fell in love with Proactiv. It has totally gotten my acne under control. I developed acne/ cyst on my face, shoulders, and lower back. Wal-mart has a generic version that works just as well. I sat in the Endo's office furious / confused/frustrated.
Avatar n tn Significance Red bumps on your cheeks may signal acne, sometimes referred to as pimples or zits, and can result in scarring if left untreated. Acne also forms on the neck, chest, shoulders or back -- the areas of your body with the most oil glands. Acne bumps often heal slowly and new bumps typically appear as the older ones vanish, according to MayoClinic.com.
1621269 tn?1327203489 I am 12w 5d and I have developed really bad acne/spots on my chin and around my mouth. I know this is my hormonal area but they are huge, like bubbles which are really hard and sore with no white heads, well not yet anyway. Was wondering if anyone has any remedies or ideas on diet which will help in the future. I know skin problems are normal in pregnancy I'm not worried its just annoying.
Avatar f tn So, I had to fill out a questionaire with a million questions before I see an RE at the end of the month. One of the questions was about acne, and whether I have it or not. What does having acne mean? (I've heard getting acne can be a sign of something, I just can't remember what) Lately, I've been having so many breakouts, and today noticed I had some back acne. Gross! I never had acne before.
Avatar n tn However, that being said, one must dig a bit deeper into the actual relationship between the two and you will note, that rapid weight loss itself can cause acne breakouts due to the release of andorgen hormones stored in fat. This rapid weight loss causes a hormonal shift that may cause some people taking the drug, with no prior history of acne problems, to suddenly experience this condition......but its not from the drug, it is the way our bodies react to what the drug does to the body....
Avatar f tn Hello, I am a 22 year old female who suffered from bulimia for almost 2 years. Over the past 12 months I have been in recovery (dramatically reduced episodes from daily to monthly) , and over the past 2-3 months I have been completely bulimia free. During my bulimia I lost my periods completely and it is only since I started recovering 12 months ago that they returned.
Avatar f tn I am 19 now and I used to masterbate in my teens(16-18). I have developed several side effects due to over masterbation like acne, sunken eyes, bony wrists, hair loss etc. How do I recover from the above stated problems.
Avatar f tn The reasons it happens can be hormonal imbalances first. Women with PCOS often have this. In this situation, FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) is decreased while other hormones are increased and you then might have too much of that (example, estrogen--- which can act as it's own birth control in your body). Another reason for this hormonal situation is issues with the pituitary gland. Many women use medications to treat this with success and it doesn't harm future babies.
Avatar n tn re right, BC pills are used frequently by dermatologists and gynecologists to control hormonal disorders in women, and acne is just one of them. However, taking ANY medication (other than the usual pain killers or other OTC drugs) by yourself without consulting a doctor first is foolhardy, esp those that work with hormones such as BC pills, and more so, when you're in your teens.
Avatar f tn Ugh acne! Some women get the pregnancy glow, others (like me) a rerun of adolescence! It should go away within a month or two. Keep washing your face and hairline with gentle product and ease up on any hair products that might be causing it. This too shall pass.
Avatar f tn Up to one in six (15%) of women have a fibroadenoma at some time in their life. Fibroadenomas does not put you at any increased risk of breast cancer. The dexamethasone suppression test is used to diagnose and differentiate among the various types of Cushing's syndrome and other possible causes of high cortisol. Normal 17-OH-P for adults is less than 200 ng/dL. Not sure why you have listed this as high?
1415174 tn?1453243103 Has anyone experienced a full face full of acne for a prolonged period after starting Arimidex for breast cancer treatment? It is my friend who had breast cancer and she is blind and wants me to write for her. She also has Lupus but she has seen a dermatologist and rheumatologist and they dismiss it as acne. She knows she is out of remission with discoid lupus but she also has systemic lupus. But they assured her the 'acne" is not lupus breakout.
1752977 tn?1418221796 ve noticed hair growing on my stomach and a few on my breasts? Is this normal? If not, what usually causes that? Ty in advance.
Avatar f tn I was just thinking, the fact that it only last a few days, could be due to hormonal changes, some women get acne right before or during their period, this could very well be the case for you.
1303813 tn?1303159362 Ima write EXACTLY what it says in the magazine! A decade ago Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) was a little known, and little understood condition. Today its the most common hormonal disorder among women of repoductivve age and the main cause of infertility in UK women. What's more, some experts believe that Polycystic Ovaries might affect as many as one in four women,, and that the number of sufferers is likely to rise further, thanks to modern life styles.

Avatar n tn High level of stress, cholesterol, hormonal imbalance, chain smoking, dramatic changes in your life style may be some of the common causes of you irregular periods. Menarche and menopause are also important causes of irregular periods. Some time is taken for the body to get used to the hormonal imbalance during menarche and menopause. So the irregularity.
