You may not need anything but the Wellbutrin to be honest with you. I have OCD which leads to anxiety and then to depression. I was on Prozac many years ago and I tried those other drugs over the past year when it reared its ugly head again but I choose Wellbutrin. I was initially on 150 XL like you but I needed a boost when my OCD kicked into overdrive so I went to 300 XL. I currently take 300 mg of Wellbutrin XL and now .25 of abilify. These successfully treat my depression and allow me to live a normal life. I am a moderate drinker, but consider myself an alcoholic and easily become intoxicated and do not have the ability at times to stop at one or two glasses of wine.
I want to stop drinking alcohol to make my life even better and can't do it alone. So my md prescribed .5 mg klonipin. Because it makes me sleepy, I have cut the med in half.
My doctor started me on Wellbutrin XL 150mg and I felt great the first couple of days, however I now get very depressed in the afternoons, dwelling on the past - how I could have done things better and how messed up my life is now, the doc wants to increase the dose to 300mg but these pills are expensive!! m taking Wellbutrin XL 150 mg for one week, then I have to take 2 tables totalling 300mg. Has anyone had good results with this? So far i've been taking it for a week and it's made my anxiety 1000 times worse. My eyes are twitching, I feel so stressed, I can't sleep for even 10 minutes and I cry several times throughout the day.

I am taking both Wellbutrin and Klonopin (clonazepam) and I have found the Wellbutrin to increase my anxiety. Be careful with the clonazepam because it is addicting.
You only risk having a seizure from Wellbutrin if you already have a lowered seizure threshold from epilepsy, bulimia or alcoholism. A perfectly normal person without any past seizure activity does not run a risk of having seizures from Wellbutrin.
Hello, i was taking Wellbutrin Xl 300mg for 2 yrs. the last 6 months i was taking a generic brand. However, i became very depressed i the last 2 months. i was hospilized 3 weeks ago. They took me off of Wellbutrin and now i take Celexa and Remeron. However, i dont like their side effects. So today i switched back to Wellbutrin. Can i do this? i took it around 9:20am this morning, then 20 min later i began to feel lightheaded and my heart was racing. Is this normal?
I'm taking Wellbutrin XL 300mg. I have been told that it is a wimpy drug and that I sither need to up the dosage or find a stronger anti-depressant. What about effexor?
