my hormones were low so dr put me on hormone pills and thyroid pills,i haad been on wellbutrin sr about 1 year 300 mg to counteract sexual side effects from prozac,it didnt help though,so my dr changed me from 300 wellbutrin sr to 450 mg xl,tonight for the first time in ages i feel kind of dizzy..ondering if it might be to high of a change over on the wllbutrin,,hoping after prozac is out of system i will have a sex drive any info would help or has anyone switched from the sr to the xl?

My boyfriend's doctor has just recently prescribed Prozac, Wellbutrin XL and Effexor for his depression. My question is, is it safe to take all of these prescriptions at the same time? My boyfriend is also having a hard tiome sleeping at night, he twitches and has a hollow feeling in his legs and arm that doesn't seem to be going away, what can he do?

I am a survivor of an abusive marriage of 28 years and a major heart attack. The doctor insists that I must stay on antidepressants for the rest of my life. I gained 40 pounds while taking Zoloft and yet I can't cope without some sort of medication nor can I cope with this weight gain. I have always prided myself in looking nice. I have just switched to Wellbutrin XL because I heard it doesn't cause that weight gain that Zoloft does...

You may not need anything but the Wellbutrin to be honest with you. I have OCD which leads to anxiety and then to depression. I was on Prozac many years ago and I tried those other drugs over the past year when it reared its ugly head again but I choose Wellbutrin. I was initially on 150 XL like you but I needed a boost when my OCD kicked into overdrive so I went to 300 XL. It did make me more jittery at first but after about 4-6 weeks, it went away and I feel GREAT!

I am currently taking 300 mg Wellbutrin XL daily. It has been recommended that I go back to Prozac for my recurring bulimia and I agree as this drug seemed to help me in my 20's with the disease. My question is - how do I safely transition from/wean off Wellbutrin while also trying to get back to a theraputic level of Prozac? I have been taking Prozac for many years, recently my Dr added wellbutrin xl. It worked very well except it gave me horrible hot flashes. Is there a good alternative that doesn't have the side effects?

Can you please tell me if Wellbutrin XL will help with anxiety issues. Or can the medication Cymbalta be of better use?

Its not the Wellbutrin, it's probably the Prozac.

To get about the same result you had with Nefazodone with no weight gain I would recommend sertraline (Zoloft) combined with Wellbutrin XL. To get a significant antagonizing effect to your 5-HT2 receptors you would need mirtazapine but it is related with weight gain so I would try the Zoloft with Wellbutrin XL which will basically in a SNDRI like Nefazodone and see how it goes.

For several years now I've been taking Remeron, Paroxitine, Wellbutrin XL and Lithium; everything is at the top dosage. Only the Wellbutrin and Lithium I take during the day. These drops have been going on for quite some time, but now are the very worst they have been. Last year I had to quit a part time job because of this and got on the sub list. Mornings are my best times til 9:30am, I push myself thru chores and if I do go to work I pray that is only for 3.5hrs.

Okay, I have been on Wellbutrin 300 xl (generic) for more than a month now. I am still a little jittery in the morning but not as bad. I get headaches every afternoon/evening and so I have to beat them to the punch with an Aleve at about 2:00 and even then I may still get the headache but just not as bad. Constipation has set in, still dealing with the dry mouth, and I have breakthrough panic attacks. I have been trying to self-coach my way through them..

when i finish the bottle i have she is putting me on wellbutrin xl///her plan is that by upping the wellbutrin i will finally be able to get off prozaci have gone from 60 mg prtozac to 10 mg but cant seem to get off it and i hjate it,its killed my sex drive. My daughter started going to phychiatrist(she just turned 18 she was on 40mg of prozac) he put her on valium 5mg,celexa60 mg and and 100 mg of wellbutrin what is this combination usually treat? I have been taking Wellbutrin XL 300 mg for 3 weeks at night. Insomina showed up about 2 weeks ago even though I take Klonopin to sleep. I am going to skip tonights dose and take it in the morning instead. I still am very edgy after 3 weeks of taking the medication. Do most people take in the am? My bottle of 150 xl said to take it at bed time which was why I took the 300 at bedtime. Does the edgyness go away? Anyway, I think I'm going to ask to switch to Prozac instead.

He told me that many people do well on Wellbutrin and a SSRI. He suggested I add 20mg of Prozac and drop the Wellbutrin to 150mg. I never had any drug reactions in the past so I took his advice. About 6 days in to the therapy I had a panic attack at a restaurant. Day 7 I had another one at home. My mind was racing and my anxiety was off the charts. I had never experienced anything like that in my entire life. It was terrifying. I called the doc and he stopped the Prozac.

If I am not better after 4 weeks, then I will seek to be put on Prozac which I think I can take with Wellbutrin...get my prozac up and then start weaning off the wellbutrin. My doctor prescribed wellbutrin because it had less side affects. I could not take celexa...it disagreed with me. After unsuccessfully attempting several types of medication (Nortrilene, Valdoxan and Sertraline) I have now been given Wellbutrin XL. I take 150mg once a day in the morning but after only a few days on this I started feeling really argumentative and aggressive. My Pysch told me it was early days and he wanted me to continue so I have for the last three weeks, but these effects are not improving and I still feel really depressed. I also cry at everything now.

My dr, said she looked it up in her book, and Wellbutrin XL 150mg, is only prescribed for SAD and to quit smoking. She did not want to prescribe the XL at all no mater what I said. She prescribed me Regular Wellbutrin 100mg twice per day. I do not want the regular wellbutrin as it will make me shakey, and I will not follow through with taking 2 pills per day...
