My dr, said she looked it up in her book, and Wellbutrin XL 150mg, is only prescribed for SAD and to quit smoking. She did not want to prescribe the XL at all no mater what I said. She prescribed me Regular Wellbutrin 100mg twice per day. I do not want the regular wellbutrin as it will make me shakey, and I will not follow through with taking 2 pills per day...
About 5 months ago my doctor put me on citalopram which made me feel like a zombie and I started gaining weight so we decided to switch to the wellbutrin. I have been on the wellbutrin for about 7 weeks now and off the citalopram for a little over 1 week. Im having a completely different experience than I did before. No dry mouth or weight loss instead headaches, ringing in my ears, clenched jaw, continued weight gain and irritability.

I was very recently prescribed Wellbutrin XL, after trying several medications that have not helped [including Wellbutrin SR]. When I saw my doctor, she simply said 'I'm putting you on Wellbutrin twice daily' and I assumed it would be the SR. But what I was given was XL, with the instructions to take it twice a day [morning and around noon]. My doctor's office is closed today, or I would have asked her. I did ask the pharmacist, and he said that yes, this is okay.
My doctor started me on Wellbutrin XL 150mg and I felt great the first couple of days, however I now get very depressed in the afternoons, dwelling on the past - how I could have done things better and how messed up my life is now, the doc wants to increase the dose to 300mg but these pills are expensive!! I can't afford to pay $120/month just for these....isn't there anything cheaper that would help?
Can you please tell me if Wellbutrin XL will help with anxiety issues. Or can the medication Cymbalta be of better use?
My doc prescribed Wellbutrin XL since the Lexapro made my depression even worse, excessive sleeping, etc. My question is - can I still take 1 mg of Klonopin to help with anxiety, prevent panic attacks?
I've taken Wellbutrin before for a bad depression and know that it makes a person more energetic but also jittery at times.
Any advice? Could I combine Lexapro 10 mg with the Wellbutrin XL 150 mg?

If you have trouble sleeping, remember to take WELLBUTRIN XL in the morning. Do not change your dose or stop taking WELLBUTRIN XL without talking to your doctor.
Hello Wannabebetter. I read your reply with great interest and understanding. Then I noticed it was posted last year. I'm wanting to get of Wellbutrin XL too, after about six years. If you see this, please let me know how things are going with you.
I tried to take it only when I needed to concentrate at work and not on days I don´t have to work. He told me it is not good to interrupt intake like that.
I am very interested in knowing your experience with Adderal and Wellbutrin. Did your doctor check your clinical history to be sure that there is no high risk of seizures?
) For those who are recommended by their doctors to try Wellbutrin XL to quit smoking, I say go for it! Yesterday I only had 2 1/2 cigarettes in 24 hours. Today I have only smoked the other half that I didn't finish yesterday. (It is just about 6pm now and I have been awake since 10.)
All in all, if you want to try this for quitting smoking I say go for it! If you want to try Wellbutrin XL for anxiety and depression, I say go another way. Ask for other options.
Whenever I try a new drug for symptoms,I always have bad side affects which make me nervous starting anything different. My question is,my Dr. wants me to ween off Wellbutrin XL 300 to WellbutrinXL 150mg for 14 days and to add Cymbalta 30 mg for 14 days at the same time.Then to increase Cymbalta 60 mg daily and stop Wellbutrin. I've read a lot about Cymbalta and don't know if I should do this.
t have my psychiatrist anymore) has decided to ADD Pristiq to my Wellbutrin, and in 3 months wants to wean me off my klonopin. She seems to really be against the klonopin, she has attempted to take me off that before with Seroquel, but the Seroquel had side affects I didn't like so stopped it, and stayed on the klonopin.
I am concerned about the Pristiq. Is it going to cause sexual side affects?
Does anyone know how lexapro is? I will be paying almost as much as the wellbutrin xl, which i am willing to do to feel better. Do I have to slowly get off of the celexa and make the switch to wellbutrin or can i just switch the next day?
Switching from a particular medication to another can definitely have some unwanted side effects in my experience, but for me, they tended to go away with time. You were on Paxil for a long time; did your doctor slowly taper you off and switch you to Wellbutrin? Have you discussed this with him/her?
