Wellbutrin xl side effects go away

Common Questions and Answers about Wellbutrin xl side effects go away

wellbutrin

Is chronic sore throat and sinus inflammation a possible side effect of wellbutrin XL 150? My doctor has been unable to clear up this problem with antibiotics, allergy medications, decongestants, expectorants, etc and the problem started within a few days of me started WB appx 6 weeks ago. Maybe it's a coincidence, but if not are these side effects transient? Thanks!
Can side effects pop up after a full year on a drug? When I was pregnant my doctor put me on wellbutrin xl for my depression, and for me it was great. I felt a lot better and I had no real bothersome side effects. After more than a year on it and having great results I just flipped out. My son was 7 months and all of a sudden I did not trust anyone. I thought that everyone was out to steal my son from me.
you may need to up your dosage. I'm at 300mg. But the anti-ADD effects are kind of side effects of that medication while your body adjusts... mine only lasted a week. It may be because your body is so used to ADD meds and you've been on anti-depressants for awhile that you need a stronger kick. Oh, and I hear you on the education thing. I'm in my junior year as well, and I can't have this **** getting in the way again.
I went to get a higher dosage of wellbutrin XL today and they gave me Budeprion xl 300 mg. They told me they now have the generic form which is cheaper. I was wondering if this will make a difference compared to taking the brand name? wellbutrin 150 has worked wonders for me and now they give me this budeprion. I just want to know if it's the same thing, more importantly, work the same?
I have been on wellbutrin xl for 7 days now. The side effects I have are anxiety, dizzyand , dry mouth My doctor told me to take xanax with it until the side effects go away. Any idea when that will be??? I keep trying to take wellbutrin alone to see if the side effects are going away, but I usually end up taking the xanax a few hours in because I just can't handle al the jittering and other side effects I am getting. Should I hang in there a little longer of stop taking it?
One good thing I noticed is that my sex drive is back (zoloft had killed my libido). So my question is for those that have experienced any of these side effects, did they go away for you over time? I know the headache can be caused by the dehydration from the medication so I will make an effort to increase my water intake. I read that muscle aches/pain are a severe side effect.
I am currently on paxil 40mg a day and wellbutrin xl 450mg a day. I have been on these meds for probably 2 months or more. started at low dosages but increased as me and my doctor seen fit. I increased the wellbutrin because of the sexual side effects, but even still didn't get the results I wanted, sexually. Since the new year, I have cut back on my drinking big time.
Apon a follow up visit, a different doctor than the original, prescribed wellbutrin XL 300mg instead of Lexapro. He stated that Lexapro was not effective for anxiety and he preferred to have me on wellbutrin. After researching, this does not seem logical. I am concerned about taking wellbutrin especially with such a large dose.
i believe that much of my depression and even suicide attempts are partly due to side effects from all the drugs that were supposed to make me less depressed. i just really don't want to be on them and the only way that i know to get rid of the symptoms is to go back on them and then it's a never ending cycle....help?....?....?
So with that rant out of the way (sorry), I believe wellbutrin to be one of the better SSRI's because of its low sexual side effects. But I had a friend who was just a psycho ***** on it, and Effexor was the one that worked for her. I would also recommend seeing a Naturopath and considering natural alternatives. The reason is, SSRIs are (most are) very hard to get off of. I have heard crack addicts say that they would rather come off crack cold turkey than wean off antidepressants.
What is the actual difference between wellbutrin XL and wellbutrin SR. Will both cause the same weight loss.
I've tried Zoloft, Paxil, Prozac and as I've already said, Lexapro. wellbutrin has the least side effects. I switched back about a week ago and the withdrawl symptoms from Lexapro are the pits. wellbutrin may not work as well for you, Everyone is different. As you can see, it may take several attempts at medication before you are on the right one. Just be patient. Once you find the right one, you'll feel so much better. Hope this helps.
Please has anyone else had this side effect and does it go away??? Please any feed back would be nice, i don't know what to do!!!!
My doctor said those are possible side effects of the wellbutrin and they should go away. It only go worse and now I have double vision. That started in about the second week being on it and after enduring it for a week, called my doctor and told him I was not going to take it anymore. It has now been a week and a half off of it and It hasn't gotten any better. I can't drive or go to work. Everyone around me seems to think I am exaggerating and should suck it up and go about a normal life.
Okay, I have been on wellbutrin 300 xl (generic) for more than a month now. I am still a little jittery in the morning but not as bad. I get headaches every afternoon/evening and so I have to beat them to the punch with an Aleve at about 2:00 and even then I may still get the headache but just not as bad. Constipation has set in, still dealing with the dry mouth, and I have breakthrough panic attacks. I have been trying to self-coach my way through them..
My doctor gave me a perscription for severe depression but he wrote it for wellbutrin XL 150 mg. The past 3 days I have been on the W XL and my mood has worsened to even worse than it was before taking wellbutrin. I'm going to try and go back on the SR 100mg now and see if there is a difference.. My question is it possible that once version of the drug makes me more depressed while the other once makes me happier?
side effects of wellbutrin XL: Dry mouth, sore throat, nausea, vomiting, stomach/abdominal pain, flushing, headache, loss of appetite, trouble sleeping, increased sweating, strange taste in mouth, joint aches, dizziness, or blurred vision. The headaches are really the only symptom I've had except for trouble sleeping, but I haven't slept well since I gave up the oxys.
I tried Cipralex (5 mg for first two days and then 10 MG on the third day) for 3 days and did not react well to it at all - bad side effects, increased anxiety.. GP prescribed me low dose of Clonazapam to take the edge off during what I was told could be a week to two week "adjustment" phase. Didn't really like the idea of taking one drug to counteract the effects of another. So after 3 days I asked her if it was OK if I stopped and she said yes..
I was wondering if anyone has any other suggestions of different medications that may not cause weight gain or sexual side effects? Could an increase in mg of wellbutrin help? I am already taking 300mg of wellbutrin XL.
Don't just stop the medicine cold turkey b/c it can give you awful physical/mental side effects. Call somebody NOW, a suicide hotline, or go to the emergency room since your obviously not mentally well. This is not to be taken lightly, PLEASE!
yes, all of the side effects will go away. You have had a withdrawal reaction and the worst of it is over...expect to have no more symptoms from lexapro after about another week.
I have been on wellbutrin for 3 days and have severe insomnia, constipation and dizziness. Will these side effects last long? Will they go away eventually?
Those are tough side effects to live with...ask your doctor about taking you off the xl and lowering the dose to see if you can acclimate to the medication without these side effects...you may have started too high.
I stopped taking wellbutrin XL 150 mgs about 6 days ago. When will the withdrawals end? Four weeks ago my doctor switched me to Lexapro. Four days later I started having severe withdrawals from the wellbutrin (vertigo, loss of appetite, insomnia, feeling out of it, acne, tast differences..etc) I stopped the Lexapro and went back onto the wellbutrin to find out my body was rejecting it. I decided to taper off the wellbutrin and now have been off for 6 days.
I've had horrible nausea and have been crying all the time for nothing. I initially switched to wellbutrin XL to see if it would help with my weight but the side effects are so awful for me that I want to go back on my zoloft. That seemed to work perfectly for me. Can I stop taking the wellbutrin since I've only been on it for 2 weeks and start taking my zoloft right away? Thanks for any advice!
unfortunately, happiness is not one of the emotions. how long before wellbutrin starts working? Do most of the side effects go away? If so, WHEN? I am depressed and weepy after two weeks.
I have been taking wellbutrin XL 300 mg for 3 weeks at night. Insomina showed up about 2 weeks ago even though I take Klonopin to sleep. I am going to skip tonights dose and take it in the morning instead. I still am very edgy after 3 weeks of taking the medication. Do most people take in the am? My bottle of 150 xl said to take it at bed time which was why I took the 300 at bedtime. Does the edgyness go away? Anyway, I think I'm going to ask to switch to Prozac instead.
Is it safe to take 5-htp and wellbutrin XL 150mg at the same time.. (ok, spaced by 10 hours.. another words, not swallowed at the same time). And have there ever been any weird weird side effects from 5-htp (such as in feeling hot and sweaty for about 90 minutes after consuming 100+ mg of 5-htp? as I remind my doctor, I am an atypical patient, what happens with others doesn't always happen with me... it has been this way all my life..
