Wellbutrin xl and tremors

Common Questions and Answers about Wellbutrin xl and tremors

wellbutrin

wellbutrin can cause tics and tremors and seizures and other side effects.Teh good thing about well butrin is that it has a lower incidence of sexual sideeffects,I know people that have done well on it and some that have done poorly on it. Everyone is different though and different meds will work for some and not for others.I take a combo of celexa/zyprexa as I am bi polar and it works great for me let me know what you decide.
I take creatine, caffeine, and smaller amounts of other supplements on top of 400 mg/day of wellbutrin and no problems. Sports supplements and wellbutrin (a psychoactive drug) work on completely different tissues in the body and thus do not work in unison with each other. Wellbutrin gives you mental energy, supplements actually stimulate a more physiological response.
My main concern is that I hear that Tyrosine can effect dopamine etc. And I am wondering if there are any known complications between a substance like this and wellbutrin etc. I wouldn't want to get serotonin overload syndrome or anything Iike that - tho I do feel super happy and buzzed after working out, and no I don't crash from it either.. mood wise. Also, not sure if Taurine effects neurotransmitters etc. I guess I may have to do some in-depth research.
It is possible that bupropion (Wellbutrin) may cause your symptoms of tremors and joint pain. Please contact your provider and pharmacist to report the adverse effects and have them confirm by conducting a complete medication review, including prescription, over-the-counter, and any dietary and herbal supplements. Some of the common side effects of bupropion are headaches (26%, compare to 23% of placebo), dry mouth (17%, compare to 7% of placebo), insomnia (11%, compare to 6% of placebo).
My doctor gave me Xanax (for emergencies only) and the tremors and leg twitching (pins and needles) were so bad last night that I took .25 mg. of the Xanax and 5 mg. of Ambien and slept really well. I have gone back to 12.5 mg. of Zolft, but I'm not sure what to do now. I have a healthy lifestyle. I am 56 years old, have always worked out and just joined a health club and do 35 minutes on the treadmill (could that be causing pins and needles in my legs?) 4 days per week as well as lift weights.
ive been on & off wellbutrin SR & XL a few times. i was diagnosed with bipolar and manic depression 6 yrs ago. i am on wellbutrin SR 300mgs now to help with severe depression. without this medication, i could sleep straight for a week and still not have any energy or ambition to get up. my doc told me to try this medication and give it at least 3-4 weeks and i would notice a huge difference. it does keep me functioning at a normal rate.
I almost started to cry at work and felt like I was losing it and going to have a breakdown. I called my doctor and left a message with his nurse. I'm on wellbutrin as well. On the YAZ pamphlet it says to talk to your doctor before taking this medicine if you have had depression. What does my obgyn know about depression??? I also have mitro-valve prolapse and it also states if you have heart valve problems not to take this pill. All I know how I felt in just two days is miserable.
I am weaning myself off and have started Wellbutrin XL up to 300mg now. I agree with the withdrawal symptoms. It's almost as if the manufacturer doesn't want us to stop it (more money for them!!) Good luck to everyone.
I stopped taking them on Friday and started to have anxiety for no reason and a sense of hopelessness as I was still dealing with pain and tremors and feeling that my doctor did not believe all my previous work up and symptoms. My symptoms worsened over the next couple days that included muscle cramps in weird areas such as the back of my skull, the knee cap, my neck, and my heels.
About this same time I had decided to start weaning myself off of Effexor for several different reasons. I was taking both Wellbutrin XL and Effexor XR and was just tired of taking so many medications ( I am also on hormone replacement therapy). The side effects I had from Effexor were not that totally bad; sweating and being hot when nobody else was, decreased sexual feelings, not as intense orgasms. I had quit about a year ago but don't remember feeling like this at all.
He met with me, put me on medication (because I was depressed over my health), and brought me up to 300mg of Wellbutrin XL, along with ZANAX XR 1mg 2x daily to counteract the tremors brought on by the Wellbutrin; hence, the ER Dr. agreed there is no way It could be an anxiety/panic attack. This also occurred last November (2006) and I was sent to a neurologist, wore a heart monitor for a day, and they found nothing either.
He gave me a week sample of the 30mg Cymbalta in order to wean myself off. He also have me (7) Wellbutrin XL 150mg and (7) Wellbutrin XL 300mg. This week coming down off of the Cymbalta has gradually gotten worse. I am extremely depressed at times (almost manic). I can't go to sleep when I need to (for which he prescribed me Lunesta). I guess I'm fighting it because I can't sleep still. Oh yeah--another thing--I have been taking Adderall (w/o a prescription) on and off since I was 18.
On another note regarding the ED, I'm thinking the prozac and/or the Vyvanse only because I take 300 mg of Wellbutrin specifically because for me at least there are not sexual side effects and it controls my OCD very well.
I too have had many panic attack related situations, and have feared that there is more wrong with me than I thought. Sometimes it was so hard to decide what was actually "real" or what was in my head. I had my worst episode in college when I was 21, I literally thought I would never be able to function like that. After getting on Celexa (40mg - this will differ depending on your severity) and it changed my life.
I initially wondered if I could be having a withdrawal syndrome and after discussing this with my doctor, I went back on the Wellbutrin. The symptoms did not resolve and continued to increase. I have since stopped it again. See message part 2 please, thanks.
I've had no tremors, muscle weakness, visual changes, or headache. I seem to have normal balance and proprioception. Because my tongue feels tingly and a bit thick, I've had a few times when my speech felt forced or when a word didn't flow as easily as normal, but nothing I'd really equate with expressive aphasia or the like. In looking for things that might contribute to my symptoms, the following things may be noteworthy.
12 days later, as i was heading to the pantry to take the paxil CR, neurontin and wellbutrin xl, it occurs to me of the side effects of these medicines (mainly paxil and even to some extent -- wellbutrin). I phoned the doc, said i wasn't going to take them anymore, and he needed to find alternative symptomotology relief. 30 hours later, i felt much much better. The manic depression decreased considerably, and i felt so much more normal.
The pharmacy has to list every possible side effect that a drug may have, even if it's like a 1/2 % chance of happening. Many, many, many people take Wellbutrin and have never had that type of reaction and are very happy. In fact you may see a little loss of weight not gain. Wellbutrin is one of the better antidepressents out there.
This is the place to be if you want off Tramadol ... you'll get support here. We're so glad you found us!

SSRI's are believed to reduce platelet aggregation which means less clotting problems: "SSRIs may reduce platelet aggregation. Many patients with depressive illness have dysregulation of the sympathoadrenal system as evidenced by an elevated plasma level of norepinephrine.
, but they said this was not causing my symptoms and it was just panic attacks and injected me with 2MG of Ativan and sent me on my way. I went to my GP, who put me on Toprol XL, which I am now on 50 MG a day, and it has helped for the chest pains and increased heartrate/irregular heartrate, yet I still was getting attacks, so my doctor put me on Zoloft since it was at this time she suspected Panic Attacks, yet it only made NEW symptoms appear and my life more of a living hell!!
I need to hold onto the wall to steady myself when walking around, I have absolutley zero patients for my kids , I have diarhia, nausea, inability to concentrate(ergo housebound, unable to drive), I am rocking and shaking and having muscle cramps and tremors in my limbs and extremities. My mouth is dry,my emotions are completely out of wack (watching my dogs play makes me cry!!) I am sweating alot, again, yeah!!
The fact that 3 neurologist have evaluated and examined you, and not found an abnormality is good news and should be encouraging. Its good that they have not found a serious neurological disease! Based on your symptoms, there is no indication for an EMG, but check with your doctor if you have not asked already as I do not know your full case.
I am on 225 mg since Aug 2005 and have gained at least 20 lbs and gone up 2 sizes, I am sick about this and am tapering down as we speak!!
I've been off of mine for 4 days now and I don't know I would have started on it in the first place had I known what the withdrawal would be like. I've been on Zoloft and Wellbutrin in the past and neither were even close to the severity of coming off of this one. The zapping feeling in my head and eyes is awful as well as the tingling in my hands. I haven't slept more than 4 hours a night in about a week so it's just hitting me all around.
It has been almost a week since I have been off Effexor 300mg XR - My doctor prescribe Wellbutrin - I was suppose to take Wellbutrin and Effexor for about a week and then drop the Effexox. I have never felt so bad! Tuesday, I stayed home because I thought I had the flu. I get migraines and thought I was getting a lot of them. I am a teacher and I went to school today.
I have been extremely effected by the side effects.Mostly memory and spelling.I have tingling in the fingers and toes.I also have little appetite and have lost 17lbs.Witch is great for me. I am over weight.I am tired more than normal, but i did sleep alot due to migrains.I do have more side effects and stuff, but I wont over load you all at once.I know this sounds like alot, but it has gotten better as time goes on. I have started to level off and become more normal.
My doctor who is very wonderful but very misinformed on this drug used to shrug all my questions off.. she has added wellbutrin and I am thinking maybe i will wean off the effexor and stay on wellbutrin.. I am SOO happy to hear that the weight gain is from this drug ..well i am not happy BUT..i didnt know what was wrong with me..my eating habits are very good and i am active..so how come i keep gaining weight and not losing any..i have been so frustrated..
I was on it a year and I tried to wean myself of it to begin taking Wellbutrin XL. I had horrible headaches, nausea, vomiting, and chills. It was the worst experience with a medication I ever had. I was only on 75mg a day. I can't imagine what it would have been like on a higher dose. The initial week was the worst, after that it tapered off, but all in all it took about a month for it to be completely gone from my system. It was horrible!!!
