wellbutrin xl and memory loss

Will I gain weight or loss weight by takeing 300mg of Wellbutrin XL a day? I started loseing weight on the wellbutrin SR but he switched me to the XL because he said the SR doesn't go any higher then 200mg... What should I do???

I just started taking Wellbutrin XL 150 just over a week ago for Depression and Adult ADHD... i dont know if any of these symptons are common... but ive been having hot flashes, loss of appetite, explosive anger episodes (especially in traffic), and im still unable to concentrate. My depression has subsided mildly, but im not sure if this is going to help my ADHD at all... it feels like its escalating. Do any of these go away after the first few weeks?

I have read a number of blogs including this one that indicate that hair loss is a side effect yet the Wellbutrin trials only listed hair loss as a side effect for less than 1% of patients. Given the U.S.

Hi there...I take Wellbutrin XL (300 mg extended release bupropion) and no I didn't gain weight on it. I have been on differing doses for over 2 years. Also, no loss of sex drive if that is important to you which is a common side effect of most of the other medications used for anxiety.

My dr, said she looked it up in her book, and Wellbutrin XL 150mg, is only prescribed for SAD and to quit smoking. She did not want to prescribe the XL at all no mater what I said. She prescribed me Regular Wellbutrin 100mg twice per day. I do not want the regular wellbutrin as it will make me shakey, and I will not follow through with taking 2 pills per day...

I am willing to lose some of my memory fro the past in order to better enjoy and plan my future. I consider most memory loss as a cognitive thing and it is definitely a physiological and psychological thing. Bipolar plays a part but it would take me all night to explain why but a lot of it is nature vs nurture.

Wellbutrin 150 mg xl worked great for me while quitting smoking. Today I am tapering off the wellbutrin and I have 60 quit days from the cigs. I also lost 8 lbs in 2 months, however not sure if it was the xl or sr or even the current 75 mg hcl that I'm currently on now.

I take Wellbutrin XL 300 mg once a day and Tramadol 50 mg. every six hours. I have not noticed any side effects at all using these two together. Also don't notice any difference in pain. Now I'm also taking Neurontin and Naproxen on top of it....now I have some side effects! Take care and I hope you feel better.

The drs have reassess and redid the MRI if brain neck and spine and EEG with more blood work and a nueropsch test for memory with reasoning questions, I scored average which to me wasn't impressive for a honor graduate in college. I also have bruising that develops for no reason and rashes that come and go. The drs tested the blood for enceophalopathies which are brain disfunction diseases but all normal results with anemia tests also normal.

Can Wellbutrin XL have a different affect the second time you take it? I was on it for about a year 3 years ago. I loved it! The only side effects were dry mouth and weight loss(not a negative). About 5 months ago my doctor put me on citalopram which made me feel like a zombie and I started gaining weight so we decided to switch to the wellbutrin. I have been on the wellbutrin for about 7 weeks now and off the citalopram for a little over 1 week.

ve noticed a totally decrease in my spending habits, and, while I have noticed a bit of short-term memory loss at times, I seem as though I am coming out of some kind of fog and things are becoming a lot more clear to me. Family doc started me on Trazadone which just made me feel like a zombie and shortly after switched me to Wellbutrin 150mg daily. I am actually feeling more anxious now BUT love the assistance it has given me in weight loss. Wondering if I need to quit the Wellbutrin altogether or if it would be a possibility to keep it and add prozac or effexor.

I was very recently prescribed Wellbutrin XL, after trying several medications that have not helped [including Wellbutrin SR]. When I saw my doctor, she simply said 'I'm putting you on Wellbutrin twice daily' and I assumed it would be the SR. But what I was given was XL, with the instructions to take it twice a day [morning and around noon]. My doctor's office is closed today, or I would have asked her. I did ask the pharmacist, and he said that yes, this is okay.

My daughter started going to phychiatrist(she just turned 18 she was on 40mg of prozac) he put her on valium 5mg,celexa60 mg and and 100 mg of wellbutrin what is this combination usually treat? She has some aniexty and depression ?Her hands shake after wellbutrin,but doctor said to try and see if it subsides after body gets use to it.Please let me know if this combination is used alot?

I don't think XL and SR and really different. I'm not really sure why they have both. I take 150 of XL and it makes me feel more energetic. Maybe consider what time of day you take it, If you take it with food or not, etc. Let your doc know even if it goes away.

Shortly after my thyroid medication was adjusted, I stopped Wellbutrin completely, so did not connect the Wellbutrin and the hair, and just assumed it had been the thyroid. I did go to my primary doctor and he wants to chane me to Cymbalta, which I can't afford and my insurnace won't cover. It won't cover brand zoloft either, but that is cheaper and I can buy it out of pocket.

different people respond differrently to medications i gained weight on abilify and respiridone i am 200 lbs now and only you can take the risk good luck :)

Hi! If you were my patient, I would advise you that there shouldn't be any contraindication to taking Ibuprofen, Acetominophen or Aleve with those two medications. Hope that helps!

Hi, I have been taking Wellbutrin 300 for 5 years now and I have been diagnosed now with CFS. Before taking Wellbutrin I was healthy, energetic, good memory, no pains and no myalgia. Just recently I started thinking the cause of my CFS could be long term use of Wellbutrin and after reading your post I might try to get off it.

I have now been taking 150mg of Wellbutrin XL for about three months, and have noticed no imprvement. If anything, my libido has diminished even more. Since most people report a boost in sex drive with the Wellbutrin, I was wondering if I am just an atypical case, or if perhaps my dosage is not high enough to experience the improvement.
