Perhaps someone else will share their experience with particular medications, but I wanted to make a different observation. You start your post by saying you have a binge eating disorder. But then you go on to talk all about weight loss. Eating disorders are not about having trouble losing weight, they are about our OBSESSIONS with weight and food; how we feel terrible about ourselves because we are five pounds overweight and the things we do due to this obsession.
My dr, said she looked it up in her book, and Wellbutrin XL 150mg, is only prescribed for SAD and to quit smoking. She did not want to prescribe the XL at all no mater what I said. She prescribed me Regular Wellbutrin 100mg twice per day. I do not want the regular wellbutrin as it will make me shakey, and I will not follow through with taking 2 pills per day...
I was very recently prescribed Wellbutrin XL, after trying several medications that have not helped [including Wellbutrin SR]. When I saw my doctor, she simply said 'I'm putting you on Wellbutrin twice daily' and I assumed it would be the SR. But what I was given was XL, with the instructions to take it twice a day [morning and around noon]. My doctor's office is closed today, or I would have asked her. I did ask the pharmacist, and he said that yes, this is okay.
Hey there! I'm really hoping someone can give me some advice. To try and shorten the story- I had a cerebellar astrocytoma about 9 years ago. I was on Wellbutrin before the tumor/surgery and was feeling great. Afterward they put me on fluoxetine and topamax (I no longer have migraines and weaned myself off both). About a month ago I wanted to try stopping the Wellbutrin, and my gp told me to just stop it (300 xl). I was hesitant but decided to try it.
I am a 37 year old male and have been taking 300 mg/day Wellbutrin XL and 10 mg/day Lexapro since experiencing a severe depression episode in September 2005. I have since been going to counseling weekly and maintaing maintenance of these two medications and feel that I have made tremendous improvements. However, I have yet to go back to the stress-free, anxiety-free, depression-free person that I was before this occured.

If you were my patient, I would advise you that there shouldn't be any contraindication to taking Ibuprofen, Acetominophen or Aleve with those two medications.

I have now been taking 150mg of Wellbutrin XL for about three months, and have noticed no imprvement. If anything, my libido has diminished even more.
Since most people report a boost in sex drive with the Wellbutrin, I was wondering if I am just an atypical case, or if perhaps my dosage is not high enough to experience the improvement.

m on 225 reg. Wellbutrin. The XL, extended release tablets stayed in my system long into the evening strong and kept me from being able to sleep well.
I take it first thing in the morning as soon as I wake up.
When I was going through this, I quit exercising and did not take care of myself like I normally did and thus put on a lot of weight. But I also lost it once I started eating right and getting normal exercise. For me this was just as important as talk therapy and any medication that I was taking...keep working through it...and keep us posted!
After 10 years of use, I have weaned myself off of Paroxtetine and Wellbutrin XL. It took 2 months with the aid of St.John's Wort. Now I have ceased that usage. The downside to this is my sleep cycle is totally screwed up. I an waking at 3-4 am everyday and am unable to sleep during an afternoon nap.
Will a more suitable sleep pattern ensue?

My cholesterol level is 6.9. Low blood platelets. very low vit D. Going through heavy fatigue (not oh I am tired). Having bleeding gums and having blood blisters in my mouth over last year. Not a dental hygiene issue, been to the dentist twice to check. I am bruising easily and sometimes there are a few together that are a deep purple colour. Having headaches that I cannot easily medicate. I am trying to avoid taking any anti-inflammatories and painkillers.
Can you please tell me if Wellbutrin XL will help with anxiety issues. Or can the medication Cymbalta be of better use?
