wellbutrin sr vs generic

Buproprion is just the chemical name for the brand name Wellbutrin. Buproprion SR means Substained Released. Indeed the generic could be not working, I've seen this happen in some people. Better check this out with his doctor.

Is anyone getting ringing in the ears from taking Generic Wellbutrin(Bupropion sr ) 150 mg. Here is my situation I have been on amitriptiline 25 mg 4 years then went up to 50 mg for 3 years. I started taking only one 150 mg of bupropion sr this is my 5 day. Can I stop taking the amitriptiline with no withdrawls after only 5 days of Bupropion? or has it not been long enough. I hoping that I can stop the amitriptiline by taking the bupropion sr in place of the amitriptiline.

My Dr switched me over to generice Wellbutrin last week after having tried the SR version. I quit the SR version in early January, see my post in the archives section, due to a bad itching sensation. I quit the generic Wellbutrin on Sunday.

Then I changed from a local drugstore chain to a mail order prescription service to save money.The mail order service sent me a generic that is maufactured by Sandoz(I went from a yellow pill to a purple one).

Started Generic Wellbutrin 150 SR almost 2 weeks ago. Only taking 1 per day prescribed by a GP. Dose will probably change after my first actual phsyciatrist appt. this week. Question is: I got my period for the normal 5 days and have been spotting for 5 MORE DAYS AND COUNTING! Is this one of the "start up" side effects or a permanent thing???

Watch out for "CR", "XR" and "SR" versions of meds. As far as I know, only Wellbutrin "CR" and Effexor "XR" are superior than the originals. I was taking 6mg's of Klonopin/day for many years before swiching to Xanax, also 6mg's/day. I suffer severe anxiety, and although the K-pins were O.K., they took too long to work and didn't stop panic attacks.

I went from brands name Wellbutrin SR 150 mg once a day, which made me energized and active, to brand name Wellbutrin XL 300 mg once a day. Now I am sleepy, lethargic and there is no buzz or energy at all. What's up??

Can you tell me which is the better answer? I was taking Wellbutrin SR 300 mg for a number of years and then within the past couple of years it was inadvertently changed to XI. Could this be the reason for my anger changes a couple of years ago and is Lexapro really the solution? Thank you for any guidance you can give me.

Ask your doc for Wellbutrin or generic bupropion SR (I have taken both, there are absolutely no difference and generic is cheaper). Hope you'll feel better!

I was prescribed Wellbutrin (buproprion) for smoking cessation and have been on it for roughly 3 weeks. It is the SR, 150mg in the AM and 150mg in the PM. I have also been on methadone for roughly five years and have been at the same dosage of 25mgs for over a year. Once starting buproprion (i got the generic), the side affects were pretty bad. I felt like I was on amphetamines.

The switched to cymbaltor, due to high costs (even with insurance) of this medication is wanting to switch to somethig that is less expensive and that has a generic available. What about Wellbutrin or do you have any other suggeations?

said i could add another 150 Wellbutrin in the afternoon. My Wellbutrin are generic and not time release.

thanks both of you I have a good supply of wellbutrin its sr so I cannot split Im going to take every other day for a week-10 days then go every 3 days.etc I will know if its right choice plus Im telling my best friend to watch me and tell me if I am acting any different.

Hasn't help me lose weight been on it for over a year now I take 300 am and 150 pm they say that is the highest you can go I am on the generic SR form of it. when I was on the regular form it made me very jittery didn't like that feeling.

He also prescribed a low dose of Wellbutrin SR in an attempt to determine if my decades of anxiety suffering are the result of Adult ADD. I haven't started that yet. I want to get this benzo thing straightened out first. Thanks for any guidance!!!

I've been taking Bupropion(generic) for 3 months. I've tried 300mg-XL, 2x150mg-SR, and both times (though I'd take the morning dose at 6AM) had a hard time falling asleep at night, tossing around in bed an hour or so. I normally don't have a sleeping problem. So, I now take only one 150mg-SR around 7AM and no afternoon dose. I can fall asleep fine now, but my energy runs out in the late afternoon ...

I was very recently prescribed Wellbutrin XL, after trying several medications that have not helped [including Wellbutrin SR]. When I saw my doctor, she simply said 'I'm putting you on Wellbutrin twice daily' and I assumed it would be the SR. But what I was given was XL, with the instructions to take it twice a day [morning and around noon]. My doctor's office is closed today, or I would have asked her. I did ask the pharmacist, and he said that yes, this is okay.

After being on prozac since march and it killing my sex drive,my dr told me to stop it and start wellbutrin sr tommorow..plus the prozac didnt help my depresssion much...he told me it would say on the papers that come with it that it can cause seizures..but he said thats only if you r prone to seizures...so i went to drug checker and put in all my meds ritalin,xanax and wellbutrin....it says the combo of wellbutrin and ritalin really increases the chance of seizures and so does the xanx..

When did you switch from SR to XL. That could be part of the problem. I took Remeron and felt groggy all day long every day and ate my way through all my groceries every few days.

Can Cabergoline .25MGS twice weekly and Wellbutrin 100 MGS sr once daily be taken together? I know one is a dopamaine agonist and the other a dopamine reputake inhibitor. keep in mind both are low doses and I want to see if its safe before asking my doctor to prescribe it.
