I've been on Wellbutrin XL 150 mg for about 6 months...I recently started taking once a day SR...to me the SR is less effective...I don't fell anything...it doesnt really feel like it curves my depression. I only tried it to compare the difference...I prefer the 2x a day I feel much better and actually feel it working...thats just my personal experience...however when I talked to my M.D. the switch wasn't harmful I guess its the chemical reaction to ur brain/body...good luck!
Is anyone getting ringing in the ears from taking Generic Wellbutrin(Bupropion sr ) 150 mg. Here is my situation I have been on amitriptiline 25 mg 4 years then went up to 50 mg for 3 years. I started taking only one 150 mg of bupropion sr this is my 5 day. Can I stop taking the amitriptiline with no withdrawls after only 5 days of Bupropion? or has it not been long enough. I hoping that I can stop the amitriptiline by taking the bupropion sr in place of the amitriptiline.
I tried Wellbutrun once and for a month it was awesome. Then one day my da was fooling around and I got instantly outraged and wanted to hurt her. I even raised my arm to hit her. I caught myself, went to the phone, clld the doc and asked why I was feeling that way. He told me to stop the meds, never take another one. Seems there is a certain person who should never take it. One that had experienced manic depression or is prone to it. Brings out symptoms in those people.
My husband was taking Wellbutrin sr 150 the doctor upped him to 200 sr and they gave him buprion 200 sr(on the bottle it says just Bupr). He had lots of energy on the Wellbutrin sr150 and was a pleasure to be arounds, but on this 200 buprionsr he goes to sleep and is like snappen at me all the time. After reading some of these questions I am worried that things are going to go back to the way they were before he started taking his meds.

For several years now I've been taking Remeron, Paroxitine, Wellbutrin XL and Lithium; everything is at the top dosage. Only the Wellbutrin and Lithium I take during the day. These drops have been going on for quite some time, but now are the very worst they have been.
Last year I had to quit a part time job because of this and got on the sub list. Mornings are my best times til 9:30am, I push myself thru chores and if I do go to work I pray that is only for 3.5hrs.
You might want to give the regular Wellbutrin a try once a day instead of the XL if your Dr refuses to prescribe the XL. 200 mgs would be a high starting dose in my opinion.
I am taking Wellbutrin SR 300Mg, 200 mg. Zoloft. and 50 mg. Trazodone daily, Do you think these doses are too high? Just started taking the Wellbutrin Sr 2 weeks ago, and feel so much better....
Is the wellbutrin new to you or have you been on it for awhile? I ask because it's a very stimulating antidepressant, and Prozac is fairly simulating as well, so if the wellbutrin is new that could be the problem.

today im dropping back to 2 and try that,i hust feel like since i was on 150 mg sr twice a day that 2 of the xl might work...im on my 3rd day of no prozac..i read on line where the 450 mg is not unusual..i may need that much with out the prozac..i dont know i just want my sexx liofe back..the hormones and thyroid problem was finally found and i believe thats whats been going on all these years,not depresssion.

i dint know wellbutrin was a stimualnt..i went of the ritilan cause i thought it as causing the tingling and back on adderall no tingling for several days till today..i dont get it maybe its teh wellbutrin,,dr stopped my prozac on a taper casue after being on it since march i am still depressed gained weigh and no sex drive///said i should do ok on the ellbutrin since i have been on sicne the 1oth i cant tell if its helping or not..
I've been taking Wellbutrin SR for about 10 years. With my psych Dr consent I've withdrawan from it very slowly. This is the first week without the Wellbutrin SR and I haved been experiencing intermittant shortness of breath. Today it got worse so I went to a medical Dr. She said it's anxiety but I am not anxious at all.
About two weeks into my new Wellbutrin regimen (150 mg. SR added to my nightly dose of 33 mg. Remeron), I developed a pretty intense bout of heartburn. This heartburn has stayed with for most of the entire past week-and-a-half, and I've recently added a daily Prilosec to my cocktail, which clears up the problem almost entirely. I'm getting ready to bump my dose up to a second WB 150 SR daily, and am worried about this heartburn issue, as I seem to really be responding to this drug.
I just got off prozac after being on it a year,Im still on wellbutrin sr 150 mg twice a day and thyroid meds and hormones...has any one tried any of these supplements? And do you know if they are safe to take with wellbutrin sr?

Four-hundred mg is generally as high as most doctors will go (as per the PDR, I believe), but I've known people who were prescribed on as much as 450 mg.
Going higher than this recommended limit increases risk of seizures.
Your doctor also needs to assess your general medical condition, any other meds that you may be on, etc.
My personal experience is there's no difference between generic and brand-name, aside from cost (and co-pay).
I started taking Wellbutrin SR about 2 months ago and since then I have been experiencing some short term memory loss and have had a decrease in concentration, along with decreased inability to stay focused. Is this a normal side effect for this med?
