About two weeks into my new Wellbutrin regimen (150 mg. SR added to my nightly dose of 33 mg. Remeron), I developed a pretty intense bout of heartburn. This heartburn has stayed with for most of the entire past week-and-a-half, and I've recently added a daily Prilosec to my cocktail, which clears up the problem almost entirely. I'm getting ready to bump my dose up to a second WB 150 SR daily, and am worried about this heartburn issue, as I seem to really be responding to this drug.
Is anyone getting ringing in the ears from taking Generic Wellbutrin(Bupropion sr ) 150 mg. Here is my situation I have been on amitriptiline 25 mg 4 years then went up to 50 mg for 3 years. I started taking only one 150 mg of bupropion sr this is my 5 day. Can I stop taking the amitriptiline with no withdrawls after only 5 days of Bupropion? or has it not been long enough. I hoping that I can stop the amitriptiline by taking the bupropion sr in place of the amitriptiline.

I was very recently prescribed Wellbutrin XL, after trying several medications that have not helped [including Wellbutrin SR]. When I saw my doctor, she simply said 'I'm putting you on Wellbutrin twice daily' and I assumed it would be the SR. But what I was given was XL, with the instructions to take it twice a day [morning and around noon]. My doctor's office is closed today, or I would have asked her. I did ask the pharmacist, and he said that yes, this is okay.
After being on prozac since march and it killing my sex drive,my dr told me to stop it and start wellbutrin sr tommorow..plus the prozac didnt help my depresssion much...he told me it would say on the papers that come with it that it can cause seizures..but he said thats only if you r prone to seizures...so i went to drug checker and put in all my meds ritalin,xanax and wellbutrin....it says the combo of wellbutrin and ritalin really increases the chance of seizures and so does the xanx..
m wondering if I should switch to 2x100mg(immediate-release) instead, taking at 7AM and 2PM or so ... I heard that the effect of one dose should last about 6 hours, as opposed to SR lasts for 12 hours ...
If anyone has tried immediate-release, could you share your experience with me? Did it work okay (gave you energy and focus)? Did you feel the side effects (anxiety, irritability, etc) were worse than XL or SR? Did your mood sink when it started to wear off?
My husband was taking Wellbutrin sr 150 the doctor upped him to 200 sr and they gave him buprion 200 sr(on the bottle it says just Bupr). He had lots of energy on the Wellbutrin sr150 and was a pleasure to be arounds, but on this 200 buprionsr he goes to sleep and is like snappen at me all the time. After reading some of these questions I am worried that things are going to go back to the way they were before he started taking his meds.

Last week my psychiatrist increased my Budeprion SR (generic Wellbutrin) from 300mg daily to 450mg daily. I got the script filled but when I got home and thought about it, I checked to see what is the max recommended dosage... It's 400mg daily.
I've been afraid to take that much, and you're not supposed to cut them in half.
Has any one else been on that high a dose of 450mg? Or have you heard of it?
Can you tell me which is the better answer? I was taking Wellbutrin SR 300 mg for a number of years and then within the past couple of years it was inadvertently changed to XI. Could this be the reason for my anger changes a couple of years ago and is Lexapro really the solution?

maybe if i stay on the higher dose of prozac it wil helpo my depression and no energy been on wellbutrin since june 10 no energy from it or the 5 mg adderaall im a lost cause
i take paroxitine too but at a very low dose and it still makes me tired. what dose are you on? you may need to cut way back on it. wellbutrin is a stimulating med so i don't think that's the problem. the other two i'm not sure about. i wish i could help more. i really think it's the paroxitine. check with your dr. before cutting down or changing any of your meds. take care.
Thanks for the advise. I'm not going to freak out unless it really starts to become a problem. It's good to have more energy during the day and still be able to sleep at night. I'm going to try to taper off paxill so wish me luck!
My doctor swiched me from Paxil to Bupropion Sr. last week and He said that thier was no need to ween myself off of the Paxil. So I started the Bupropion Sr at 150mg once a day for 4 days and then was to go on to two a day, Well since I started the drug. I have been very dizzy and if I move my head to fast I feel like a jolt in my vision. I told my doctor and he suggested to stay on the one a day for another week. I also have lost a pound a day since starting the drug.
I have generalized anxiety disorder. I tried Zoloft in 2002. Like you it muted all emotions, caused me to gain weight and I did not like it. Tried Trofinil, that didn't work either. Last July I began taking Wellbutrin SR 150 mg 2x day. For me it is the wonder drug. I feel so much better and until I began to feel better I didn't know how bad I felt. If I am not mistaken Wellbutrin was used to treat anxiety long before it became a drug used for smoking cessation.
I started taking Wellbutrin SR about 2 months ago and since then I have been experiencing some short term memory loss and have had a decrease in concentration, along with decreased inability to stay focused. Is this a normal side effect for this med?

I am not good at taking more than one pill per day and I know with Wellbutrin, and Wellbutrin SR, more than one is required. I would wanted a timed release anyway, with one pill only. My dr, said she looked it up in her book, and Wellbutrin XL 150mg, is only prescribed for SAD and to quit smoking. She did not want to prescribe the XL at all no mater what I said. She prescribed me Regular Wellbutrin 100mg twice per day.

Eve, thank you for your suggestions and help! I tried going up to 100 mg of Wellbutrin SR but I could not tolerate it..... it gave me too much anxiety/feeling of losing my mind! So I went back to the 75 mgs.... The Klonopin (clonazepam) has helped me tremendously in keeping the panic/anxiety in check so I am very grateful for that and I think I'll keep taking it for a while......
