Welchol powder side effects

Common Questions and Answers about Welchol powder side effects

welchol

Avatar n tn These still have significant side effects, but may be worth discussing with your prescriber. Outside of drug therapy, try taking a look at dairy products that are marketed as containing plant sterols. The evidence to support the fact that these products can help to reduce cholesterol is relatively strong.
Avatar n tn I take (2) 500mg of metformin at breakfast and supper. I also take powder welchol at supper. I would like to take my 1000mg of Januvia at bedtime to help lower my morning blood sugar readings that usually run in the 150's to 160, Any cons to taking the Januvia without food at bedtime?
Avatar f tn Mix turmeric powder(haldi), Fenugreek powder(Methi) and ginger powder in equal quantities and keep in a bottle. Take one teaspoon of this mixed powder in hot water twice a day. Build up your timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume after one minute.
268356 tn?1236002604 I had the same issue and have been on this powder for 5 years and have never had an issue since. (Powder is inexpensive and has no side effects...except lowering your cholesteral because that was its original intention when it was made...
1441678 tn?1414176672 i took mine at 9.
Avatar f tn The medicines always lower my chol, but I always have bad side effects from them. I now go to a cardiologist in Houston, Tx. and he prescribe welchol. This is the first medicine I have tried that I have taken more then two weeks, I started taking the meds in Oct. of 2008 and stop taking it of Feb. 2008.When the doctor told me to increase the doseage from 2 tables twice a day to 2 tablets 3 times a day each 650mg I believe.
Avatar n tn Thank goodness depression is not one of the side effects I have. The only time I have ever taken Benadryl was in the hospital prior to blood transfusions.
Avatar n tn Hello. Yes, suboxone can give major headaches. I wouldn't call them technically 'migraines' but yeah - bupe headaches are the worst - very migraine like (nauseous, sensitivity to light etc). I had major headaches at first, then very dull headaches after during my sub time. In the beginning - the first 2 weeks - they were pretty severe.. but your body does adjust and they will lessen or go away all together.
Avatar n tn I had the same problem. I went 100% gluten free and chemical free internally and externally, added certain extra vitamins (even though doc said I didn't need them, but they can't measure the quantity of certain things at the cellular level anyway), a few herbal supplements (not chinese herbals with strange names but more like an herbal liver cleanse tincture/pill with certain plants and oils in it), and prescription Welchol.
Avatar n tn Try the dose. It has no side effects I do not use resins because block the absorption of a lot of vitamins.
Avatar n tn But I will say I was taking the Cholestyram for my IBS until my Gastro gave me Welchol...Long term use of Cholestyram has effects on your teeth, it breaks down the enamel and makes them brittel. I have had so much dental work because of that medication. For all of you out there with IBS ask your Gastro dr about Welchol it is wonderful. This discussion is related to <a href='http://www.medhelp.org/posts/show/229636'>Why does so many have problems after gallbladder surgery?
Avatar f tn It turned out to be the welchol I had started on to decrease my cholesterol. I felt bloated, constipated, a little dizzy and a fast heart rate every late afternoon and evening. I was very fatigued and just felt lousy all over. I have to admit that the pressure feeling in the esophagus was the scarriest.
Avatar f tn //www.webmd.com/drugs/2/drug-15323/bc-headache-powder-oral/details/list-sideeffects People do occasionally get some anxiety symptoms and perhaps this is the disoriented sensation you describe. The back spasm is also not a common finding. Muscle tremors is listed but that is the closest thing I could find. This may have been a fluke. Being disoriented and light headed are not common but are listed in the literature. It sounds like this type of aspirin did not really work well for you.
Avatar m tn can anyone tell me What are the side-effects of moringa powder has and can i get organic moringa powder
3193511 tn?1345035983 //www.plantsciences.ucdavis.edu/quiros/lab/maca.htm Now, I'd like to know what are benefits of maca root powder and side effects.
Avatar f tn I am new to this and haven't written about anything.I have been treated for fibromyalgia for over a year now. The dr. never really stated I have fibro. I'm being treated for high cholesterol and trigylcerides. I'm taking welchol powder once a day and trilipex for this. I'm taking lyrica 150mg. bid and mirapex at bedtime. I went to get a lab slip yesterday for blood work and was informed i needed to be fasting for my cholesterol and trigy. levels.
401016 tn?1201451802 I would assume they're giving you welchol for diarrhea and the Ami for GI spasms. This is a combination that is given to many (or combinations like it) when someone is experiencing unexplained abdominal pain (perhaps due to spasms) and diarrhea. Ami is used fairly frequently in GI problems, so don't consider it a 'head med.' It is, but in this case it's probably being used to work on the receptors in your GI tract - not your head, although it will do that, too.
Avatar m tn Can anyone explain to me why I still had a heart attack even while taking the following meds atenenol 50mg bid, HCTZ 25mg daily, zetia 40mg daily, plavix 25mg daily, welchol 625mg bid. Also what is the chance of a second heart attack My Aortic Valve, Tricuspid Valve, and my Mitral Valve are failing because they are stenotic and regurgitative. The Aortic valve is in the worst shape of the three they tell me. I have psoriatic arthritis and ankolosing spondylitis. all joints are involved.
Avatar f tn I have an answer for you. I too had my GB out, and soon after had the same symptoms. I DIAGNOSED IT myself....not much initial help from the gastro MD. It is called "biliary diarrhea". It's fairly common, surprisingly. Apparantly has no reflection on the quality of the surgery (I had the short cut method). However, good news: I've beern able to control it, for which I do give gastro MD credit....The cholesterol drug Welchol. Without it I'd be housebound!
Avatar f tn For some this lasts 6 months - 1 yr and for a slight few this never goes away. The drs can prescribe welchol or a powder to help stop the diarrheah but a lot of people do not like the side effects. One other issue that could possibly happen is the surgery does not cure the pain. I wish I would have known about that. There is a rare thing called Sphincter of oddi dysfuction.
Avatar n tn Ask your doctor about Welchol; it's a cholesterol medicine that binds bile salts. I had mine taken out in February of last year and tried to "tough it out," but after a doctor put me on Welchol, I rarely ever get sick after eating.
Avatar f tn I had this during chemotherapy, but, was given supplements (vitamin B, glutamine powder and fish oil) that was supposed to help with these side effects. I did see a reduction of the neuropathy after I took the supplements. I don't know if it was because I was taking the supplements or because it just went away. But, now the numbness in my feet and legs is back.
