Welchol leg pain

Common Questions and Answers about Welchol leg pain

welchol

Avatar f tn It turned out to be the welchol I had started on to decrease my cholesterol. I felt bloated, constipated, a little dizzy and a fast heart rate every late afternoon and evening. I was very fatigued and just felt lousy all over. I have to admit that the pressure feeling in the esophagus was the scarriest.
401016 tn?1201451802 I would assume they're giving you welchol for diarrhea and the Ami for GI spasms. This is a combination that is given to many (or combinations like it) when someone is experiencing unexplained abdominal pain (perhaps due to spasms) and diarrhea. Ami is used fairly frequently in GI problems, so don't consider it a 'head med.' It is, but in this case it's probably being used to work on the receptors in your GI tract - not your head, although it will do that, too.
Avatar f tn I have an answer for you. I too had my GB out, and soon after had the same symptoms. I DIAGNOSED IT myself....not much initial help from the gastro MD. It is called "biliary diarrhea". It's fairly common, surprisingly. Apparantly has no reflection on the quality of the surgery (I had the short cut method). However, good news: I've beern able to control it, for which I do give gastro MD credit....The cholesterol drug Welchol. Without it I'd be housebound!
Avatar m tn Can anyone explain to me why I still had a heart attack even while taking the following meds atenenol 50mg bid, HCTZ 25mg daily, zetia 40mg daily, plavix 25mg daily, welchol 625mg bid. Also what is the chance of a second heart attack My Aortic Valve, Tricuspid Valve, and my Mitral Valve are failing because they are stenotic and regurgitative. The Aortic valve is in the worst shape of the three they tell me. I have psoriatic arthritis and ankolosing spondylitis. all joints are involved.
Avatar n tn Ask your doctor about Welchol; it's a cholesterol medicine that binds bile salts. I had mine taken out in February of last year and tried to "tough it out," but after a doctor put me on Welchol, I rarely ever get sick after eating.
Avatar f tn I am curious if you tried cholestramine or welchol pills for detox? I use the welchol because I can't drink liquid meds.
Avatar f tn I do have to urinate a lot too. I was taking cholesterol medication (Welchol) and Cosamine DS for back pain. I stopped taking it last week but I still have the pain. It subsides for a while and then starts again almost like contractions. What is wrong with me? I have been trying to eat the right things like salads, veggies, chicken , turkey, no mayo or fats, only whole grain products.
Avatar n tn I did not have any problems until then. I suffered with IBS for years until my Gastro doctor put me on Welchol and it is wonderful I take 3 pills a day and I can get anything I want and I don't have any IBS episodes anymore. I am not afraid to go out anywhere anymore. But I have another problem.
Avatar n tn I first experienced urticaria one month before gb removal, also experienced severe pain in abdomen; found gallstone in gb & removed it 2.5 months ago. My hives were gone, but it raised again from last one month. No antihistamine works, no specific trigger found. How long I've to carry this? suggest please..
Avatar n tn Lipitor caused severe muscle weakness, Zetia caused all kind of digestive problems and Pravachol zapped my energy...my count actually went up 30 points while taking WelChol! My doctor is telling me that I have no other choices of medicine to lower my count (total 285, HDL 106 VLDL 21, LDL 188, Triglycerids 106.) My sister is having the same problem so I guess this problem is a family thing. I am really troubled by my doctor's lack of concern.
Avatar n tn I take (2) 500mg of metformin at breakfast and supper. I also take powder welchol at supper. I would like to take my 1000mg of Januvia at bedtime to help lower my morning blood sugar readings that usually run in the 150's to 160, Any cons to taking the Januvia without food at bedtime?
Avatar m tn the first two times, there were a few blockages - 10, 18 and 20% The last time was in December 2013 with a different cardiologist (I moved across the state) and he said I had NO blockages at all. HUH??? My lipid profiles are still horrible even with medications. Pravacol, Tricor and Welchol. His answer for this question was: "Those medications took the blockages away." Of course, I am no doctor but this seems funny to me.
Avatar f tn ewford, I have IBS, pain in my legs mostly. The leg pain feels like a deep aching in the bone? it's hard to describe. Some days it's hardly there and others it hurts so bad I can hardly walk. I do have neck pain but I chalked that up to being in a couple of car wrecks. I have had numb feet for around 10 yrs. that several drs. never could figure out. I have nerve tests( to what extint I don't know) The cholesterol I found out about 3 yrs.ago. I do have tinnitus all the time!
1543146 tn?1293661166 I have gastritis and fibroImilgia (sorry I can;t spell). When I drink alcohol or take asprin or pain killers. I get alot of bile flowing. What can I take for pain that won't upset my stomach and what can I take to control the bile? I have gone to the doctor and they just say stay away from these things. With Fibro... I am in a ton of pain but I can't take something to try to control it because it upsets my stomach. Ton of pain in my side and back pain - worse at night.
Avatar f tn I had my gb out 3 weeks ago and have the identical same syptoms. Went back to surgeon today who lectured me that I must be not following a low fat plan. I had Grape Nuts with skim milk and a peach hardly high fat breakfast and start getting quezzy after about an hour. Pain snd cramps have caused me to clamp my teeth together causing my jaw joint to ache. Dr. says it will get better. Has your syptoms improved any? If so what did you do or have done?
Avatar m tn s been undergoing a Welchol treatment for the last 5 to 6 months and has only been able to take 1/2 pack every second day due to the pain but she feels she's on the right path. I, of course, am doubtful, been that route before. Again, thank you for taking so much time for us and for the others you help.
Avatar f tn Since I was about 5 months pregnant with my son, who is now 10 months old, I have been experiencing chronic diarrhea and stomach pain that has been getting progressively worse. My OB said it was probably gallbladder disease, as it it common in pregnant women, and I could have it removed after I recovered from childbirth. Two months ago I finally had my gallbladder removed, my ejection fraction rate was 13%, and thought I would finally have my life back.
1374371 tn?1279332622 t had any since. Sometimes I just have gallbladder pain/tenderness for a few days if I eat something I shouldn't have. I was supposed to get surgery but I walked out. The surgeon didn't even want to discuss any other options with me. I really don't want surgery unless it's absolutely necessary. I was wondering how others felt about my situation and could give me some advice. If I don't have it removed, could it possibly kill me?
1139187 tn?1355706647 I have about 600 welchol tablets that my insurance company accidently over-sold me. I cant take this medication any longer. It was prescribed to me because of gallbladder removal. Can I do anything with this medication since I will not be taking it? Its in 3 huge , sealed bottles.
Avatar f tn and he prescribe welchol. This is the first medicine I have tried that I have taken more then two weeks, I started taking the meds in Oct. of 2008 and stop taking it of Feb. 2008.When the doctor told me to increase the doseage from 2 tables twice a day to 2 tablets 3 times a day each 650mg I believe. I started to get sharp pains through out my head and also like a burning sensation and also I feel like a coldness on my right side.
Avatar m tn About 10 days ago I was walking through my house and all of a sudden i got a pain in my upper abdomen. Not a sharp pain, but a dull discomfort. I felt as I needed to rush to the restroom. I was constipated completely. Makes sense with the pain right? But the pain just hit out of no where. Well I stayed very constipated for about 3 days, and the pain stayed too. I took a full dosage of milk of magnesium. It seemed as it cleared me all out if ya know what i mean. It worked well.
268356 tn?1236002604 I took the cholestorymine powder today for the first time and was left with hours of agonizing stomach pain and nauseasness - worse than the pain of my gall or kidney stones. So there ARE side effects to that powder. I will never ever take it again.
Avatar f tn I am still unable to eat much at a time and am still having right lower quadrant abdominal pain and nausea. I decided to try to eat a little more than usual yesterday and ended up vomiting. I have also had a great deal of diarrhea since I was discharged. Is this a normal part of recovery?
Avatar f tn I take that as a sign to get off everything and deal with the pain fallout. My pain shrink has helped a lot as far as coping skills go. Maybe it's time for me to go back. Anyway, there are options out there such as the fentanyl patch if you're willing to jump through all the government requirements.
