The first thing to do is stop eating all junk food, such as chips, candies, sodas, pastries, white bread and regular pasta, etc. At age 16 your body isn't fully developed, so you have to be careful of losing weight too quickly.

You have a good five years to increase your height. I started my growth spurt at a young age too and I was 4' 10" at age 14. I was also told by my doctor that I would not grow anymore. By age 20 I was 5' 3". I proved him wrong. Everybody's body is different.

For weight loss, low carb diet (calories depend on your size and activity level) is gerenally helpful. Daily activity of at least 30 - 60 minutes / day is required also for most people to lose weight.

Since you apparently have been previously diagnosed as hypo, and are taking meds, that makes me wonder if you are adequately medicated. If the thyroid hormone levels are too low in the range, that can cause hypo symptoms, including low metabolism. If your metabolism is too low for your weight, age and height, then it becomes a Herculean task to lose weight and maintain the loss.

Avatar f tn Back in December I started a weight loss program through diet and exercise. To start I was 140 lbs, now I am 113 lbs. I'm 23 years old, female, petite, small frame and short. I'm only 5 feet 2 inches. I've done a great job eating right and exercising. I've been able to tone up my arms and legs through weight training/brisk walking. My stomach is definitely smaller, toned a little bit, however, I still have lower abdominal fat. Often called the "lower belly pooch".

Avatar f tn Thanks for the feed back. I'm 35 , 5'2 and weight 186. My daily routine is Zumba, bike 10miles , and walk on treadmill for about 15min. However, I didn't take measurements I will do that today and check back in a few days.

Avatar f tn Hi I'm almost 8 weeks and I do high intensity zumba 4 days a week lifting weights for 1 hr per week keep moving up in weight it's actually like a PT session plus after my hour zumba I usually 3 days a week do the low intensity zumba class as well so Monday and Friday 2 hrs of zumba Wednesday weights the low intensity zumba which is hard for me to do lol I like to bounce and Thursday high intensity zumba and usually a trx class or weight room or just practice since I teach zumba...

If you're very diligent, you can easily lose the stone (14 lbs) in 3 months; probably less At 16 yrs old, you aren't fully developed, so you have to very careful to make sure you get enough nutrients in your diet. It's all about eating healthy and getting plenty of the right type of exercise.
