Avatar n tn She is a very active child, always outdoors, playing with three to four other children. Rides bikes, walks, plays ball, etc.. but we are at a loss as to help her loose weight. We do not keep any candy in the house, stopped using any sugar at all over two years ago. Limit her intake, and yet she still gains weight. What can I do?
Avatar f tn You're looking to lose almost 30 pounds in 1.5 months and that's almost impossible to do safely. Safe weight loss is 1-2 pounds/week, so that means the most you should plan on losing is about 10-14 pounds. There's no reason why you shouldn't get started, though. The first thing you should do is eliminate sodas or other fizzy, sugary drinks from your diet, along with sugary, processed foods.
Avatar f tn There is nothing magical about Greek yoghurt -- it's just yoghurt with much of the liquid removed, making it higher in protein and thicker. But Greeks don't sit around eating this yoghurt, which is prevalent in the Mediterranean region, they mostly use it as a dipping condiment or for cooking. Dairy can also be problematic, as it is rich in calcium but very low in magnesium, so if you overdo it you will leach the magnesium out of your system.
Avatar m tn I want to lose weight and become healthy. What is a food essential for weight loss and overall health? I am also wondering if there are any foods that can help with the negative effects of over-masturbation. I have some other posts, please look at them, I think they will help in answering my questions.
520369 tn?1212971265 To help eat less food pre meal, eat about 7-10 almonds (good fat), 20 minutes before lunch and dinner so you will feel full faster and not eat as much food. Do not be discouraged, weight loss can be a slow process but the slower you loss, the higher chance it will stay off. Think of this new way of eating as your new healthy lifestyle and not as a diet.
29837 tn?1414534648 I also had problems with appetite and weight loss during my 72 weeks of tx. Between loss of appetite, recurring bouts of nausea and horrible mouth sores, food intake was minimal. They were most concerned about my protein/albumin, which was low to begin with from the cirrhosis - but sank even more on tx. They pushed protein drinks for me - and after some getting used to - they weren't all that bad if chilled well. Yogurt smoothies and cold applesauce got me through the long haul.
Avatar f tn Check out my plan for quick weight loss. Go to community and there go to ' advice please' on my plan I have lost so far 15 pds in 25 days. Hope this helps you.
362249 tn?1441315018 ve read that 3 servings of low-fat dairy per day is good for weight-loss and weight maintenance. This worked for me in the past and is something that I have not been as diligent about recently. MOO!
Avatar f tn Is that 53 kg? If so, you're about right for your height. Maybe all you need to do is tone your muscles. You might look into trying to fit in some yoga, 3-4 times/week. Yoga is excellent for toning and strengthening muscles. It stretches your muscles and leaves you with a "long and lean" feeling, because you tend to have better posture. There are some excellent yoga videos on YouTube; check them out and see if you might be able to get interested.
Avatar f tn Also was wondering if smoothies would be good, because I want to eat healthier and also loose weight? (yogurt, fresh fruits and ice) Dont know if yogurt is good or loosing weight? And how much is too much when it comes to smoothies(because I could drink them all day long!)? Thanks alot!
Avatar f tn Along with what Margot has told you about food, I would also add some PLAIN Yogurt.....Usually, I suggest low fat yogurt...You can feed it as a snack or with a meal..... It will help replenish the GOOD bacteria that the antibiotic is going to kill & also will sooth the tummy......Very nutritious, too!!! Let us know how he's doing....Karla P.S. If you need some help selecting a quality dogfood, let me know......You may be feeding a food that isn't good for him anyway.....
Avatar f tn Thanks for the compliment! I think it's easier to lose the weight now for Jackie than if she waited to try to achieve some weight loss in later decades when the metabolism slows making the task more difficult. It's great to be a healthy weight for so many things, lowering risk factors for serious health problems!
5014680 tn?1364331022 your body fights to stay at or above a certain weight. When you drop below this weight, your body fights this by cutting corners in activities (less twitching and subconscious movement throughout the day), thus reducing your total caloric expenditure. Adding physical activity and exercise forces your body to move and keeps it from cutting these corners.
Avatar m tn I have stopped taking it a about 3 weeks ago, maybe longer and noticed that I have a hard time gaining weight now. I have had bad anxiety and depression as well recently which may have caused my appetite to go down drastically but when it comes back I start to eat a lot and it doesn't seem like I can gain weight like I used too.
Avatar f tn He is post transplant and has cirrhosis again due to the recurrent Hep C and bile duct damage. I just wanted to know if this loss of weight is a typical side effect of the meds or if something else may be going on. I tried giving him Boost during treatment but the high protein drink worsened his HE so I had to stop it. I will contact his dr if he continues to lose weight. Thanks for your response and input.
Avatar n tn Medical marijuana is often recommended as an appetitite/weight stimulate for those on treatment. There is also another drug, Megace,, but the weight gain is almost entirely fat, but it is an option. You can also try caloric dense weight-gain products like Ensure and Prosure. You could also add some ice cream to the prosure or Ensure if she can tolerate.
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm 25 year old female, i'm obese. I always have been since about the age of 10. I joined a gym in april/may. Since the start I have had a personal trainer whom I see twice a week. I also workout on my own mostly twice a week, so I go 4 times a week, sometimes 3 but mainly 4-5. I do 25 mins on the cross trainer and 20 mins on the treadmill. I then do weights and work on core stability. With my personal trainer I do pads (boxing) and again alot of training on core stability.
Avatar f tn 15lbs in 2 months is almost 2lbs a week. That is very fast weight loss which is difficult and can be dangerous. 2: you're young and probably still growing, so any weight loss can be dangerous if not done without consulting a doctor. 3: I don't think you need to loose weight period. Using your sex, height and weight the BMI calculator I use says you're at 22BMI. A healthy BMI is between 18.5 and 24.9.
