Avatar f tn Is that 53 kg? If so, you're about right for your height. Maybe all you need to do is tone your muscles. You might look into trying to fit in some yoga, 3-4 times/week. Yoga is excellent for toning and strengthening muscles. It stretches your muscles and leaves you with a "long and lean" feeling, because you tend to have better posture. There are some excellent yoga videos on YouTube; check them out and see if you might be able to get interested.
Avatar f tn While crunches will help strengthen your muscles, they aren't going to do a lot to get rid of the pudge. Yoga is excellent for that, as is Pilates. You can download a yoga app or check out videos on YouTube. You can also buy relatively inexpensive yoga DVD's. Unless you know how to do it, opt for the beginners videos/dvd's. My favorite yoga is Biggest Loser, Yoga for Weight Loss. I've got to get back to doing it regularly.
Avatar f tn As a third assist, there are supplements such as african mango and acai berry flushes to help with weight loss, but you should absolutely talk with your doctor before starting something like this, especially if you have a medical condition or are taking other medications. He may also be able to offer you prescription weight loss aids to help you get started. It's never easy, but always possible. Wishing you well...
Avatar f tn Talk to your doctor about doing yoga. It's great for weight loss, yet you can ease into it, as your body allows. The other thing is walking. Walking is one of the all around most effective exercises there is and most people can do it, if only for short periods.
Avatar m tn m sure there will be a lot of sites from which you can watch for free. You might also check out some yoga videos. Yoga is excellent exercise as it helps tone muscles, as well as build them.
Avatar f tn t much time, but it is long enough to start weight loss. The first week is usually the biggest drop in weight. Watch your calories, get in some extra cardio, & eat your greens. Good luck!
Avatar f tn d suggest that you look into some yoga videos or classes. Yoga is great for toning muscles, and also helps with weight loss. Walking is also excellent. Since it's summer time, put the baby in a stroller and hit the sidewalk; pushing the stroller will even help exercise your arms. As for diet, a good healthy diet, with plenty of protein, lots of veggies, etc will be good. Figure out how many calories you need then drop a few, so you'll be in weight loss mode.
Avatar f tn Fast workouts aren't always the answer. Walking is an excellent exercise; it will tone up your belly, legs, hips, thighs, so cellulite isn't so obvious. Aim for at least 30 minutes/day, but more if you have time (minimum 30 min/day, 3 days/week). You don't have to run or job, just go at a good brisk clip. If you carry a resistance band, you can work your arms, shoulders, back all at the same time. Yoga is also good for toning, tightening.
Avatar f tn Hi....some of the trackers on this site are helping me remain motivated. Seeing an exercise graph going up and my weight going down helps. I think there is a woman's gym in queensferry if near to you. I imagine its difficult with a young child. Maybe the thought of you being a great role model for a healthy diet to your little one will help. I hope you find support. Treat yourself to something when you lose weight... spending ages in a bubble bath...a new moisturiser..make up etc.
1150039 tn?1261880523 I'm really happy that you are confident that your thyroid levels are in line -- I really wish I could mine to that point. I would have to agree that if your are "maintaining" then cutting back should help you lose. It sounds like the boredom issue might be your biggest challenge.
Avatar f tn I do yoga and I just watch videos on YouTube.
Business woman2 Talk to your doctor about trying yoga. There are yoga routines for nearly every level of ability, all the way from losing big time, to chair yoga for seniors. Not sure if you're a senior, but maybe chair yoga would be a place to start. That said, since you can't get a lot of exercise, you will have to limit calories in order to lose weight.
Avatar f tn Try yoga. Agree that you can't "spot lose", but yoga will help tone all your muscles and can aid in fat loss.
Avatar f tn t take long, walking several miles/day at a brisk pace to notice a difference. Yoga is also excellent for toning/losing weight. Both walking and yoga will tone the whole body. You can check out YouTube for tons of videos on yoga poses. Yoga emphasizes balance, breathing and relaxation. It works a lot on core muscles. Sounds like something for old folks, but it's really not.

Avatar f tn I agree that you should eat as few processed foods as possible. I don't agree that you need to invest in a guided fitness plan. Look up some yoga videos or pilates, etc... even "walk" videos, where you walk to a DVD... love doing those, when I can't get outside.

3148829 tn?1343188950 Sure there is........ there are a number of CD's/DVD's you can get for all types of exercises. Yoga for Weight Loss is a really good one, as are most yoga dvd's. If you have stairs in your home, stair climbing is good, jump rope is good; ever tried a whoola hoop? Like to dance?
Avatar n tn Yoga might not be the best method to lose weight in 1 month. Although, if used in conjunction with other exercises, can work wonders. As mentioned by brianbriany0 swimming is a good way to go coupled with yoga. Swim daily and if possible, for an hour. If it is too much for you, start with half an hour and increase it to 1 hour by the end of the week. Now instead of a pre cardio warmout do Yoga and then go for a swim, I hope yo will get a toned body within a month as you desire.
Avatar n tn You can download apps to your phone, tablet, or even computer that has yoga videos for beginners. Good Luck and dont listen to your friends. Become healther for you not them. And BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!!!!
973741 tn?1342342773 I have never exercised in a gym since I started my weight loss journey, youtube has some extremely effective weight loss videos, lately all I've done are fitnessblender and they are amazing! Kick your butt, but amazing, and there are thousands of videos for free!
Avatar f tn Sorry to hear about your toe... why not try doing some strength training over the next few weeks. Strength training is necessary for building muscles and muscles burn more fat. If you're just walking or dancing, etc with flip flops or bare feet that's fine. Running or high impact cardio should only be done with good supportive shoes. You could also try some yoga... it's good for weight loss and shouldn't affect your toe.
