It weighs a whole lot more than fat, so even though you're working out and LOSING FAT, you're not losing the WEIGHT because you've upped your muscle percentage. This is healthy, and muscle burns calories even at rest, so you've increased your metabolic rate (which is good!).

Avatar f tn Eat less carbs and high protein, healthy fat, limit your soda intake and drink plenty of water, green tea is proven to boost your metabolism but does not cause weight loss, drink 2/3 8oz cups a day, do not drink more than 3 cups for daily caffeine intake. Stay away from sugar, if possible use a sugar substitute and eat exact serving sizes, I've been using measureing cups.

Did you know it takes about a year for your body to adjust to losing 10 pounds? It's important to remember weight loss is a marathon and not a sprint. In order to lose weight and keep it off, you shouldn't look at it as weight loss but a way to become healthier!
Avatar n tn It comes down quite simply to: calories in, versus calories out. If You expend more calories than You take in, You WILL lose weight. One does not lose weight by exercise alone, or diet alone. It takes BOTH diet AND exercise. I'm not talking about going ON a diet, rather I'm talking about eating right and eating healthy AND exercise - making life style changes regarding exercise AND eating. We all know what is healthy eating and as for exercise, walking is a good place to start.
Avatar f tn Try reversing your workouts to put cardio exercises last. I've been told that is the way to lose the most weight. Try stretching exercises for 15 minutes before lifting. Good luck.

Avatar f tn I believe if you do moderately low weight, but lots of reps is the best way to tone. Biking is my favorite method. If it is fat around your hips/legs there is no way to target that. Your body starts storing from one area and moves to another the more you gain. And fat loss works the same. First place you gain it is the last to lose it. Running is my favorite way of taking care of fat.
