Avatar f tn Hello there, If you haven't already discussed a weight loss plan with your family doctor and an exercise plan, it really is a good idea to do this. Your doctor knows your medical history. You and your doctor can discuss how to lose the weight safely, a possible food plan and ideas for exercising, perhaps just walking as walking is one of the best exercises you can do. Good luck with all of this.

Avatar f tn Please don't go crazy about weight loss..and drinking only tea for breakfast is extremely unhealthy! Your body is super hungry after a whole night fast...n then when you give it tea (anything acidic) it feels you're starving and starts storing fat..fat is like cotton, more volume and less weight! so you might see weight loss, but not much inch loss.just have a healthy breakfast,a fruit as snack after about 2 hours, lunch and another snack after 2 hours and keep it light for dinner...
Avatar n tn Have you been tested for medical conditions that might prevent weight loss?
Avatar m tn Hypothyroidism is my biggest weight issue and I find that eating more healthful fat (olive oil, butter, coconut oil, full fat dairy, avocados, etc), with much less simple carbs (bread, pasta, white rice, etc) works best for me. It's entirely possible to eat "too much" protein, which can cause one to gain weight, not lose it.

Avatar f tn I'm a 16 year old girl and I'm pretty tall for my age and for a girl-- 6 feet tall. I've always told myself that my height is what makes my weight so high, but recently, I've come to terms with knowing that my health isn't a problem right now, but if I don't get healthier it will be one. I need tips on how to lose some weight. I'm open to activities to lose weight, but few I can do, because of my joints. So, if anyone has any ideas, please give me some.
Avatar f tn There are some weight loss supplements that help curb your appetite, but you probably don't want to take them, because they have really undesirable side effects. Most of the others that claim to work, don't and if they do, you'll gain back any weight lost, as soon as you stop taking them. The best way to lose weight is by implementing a healthy diet and exercise program. We can help you do that, if you like.
Avatar n tn Eat a good, hearty breakfast (preferrably including some fiber such as oatmeal). Without a good breakfast of that character, many of us set ourselves up for improper eating practices for much of the day and evening. Eating healthy is good, but only halfway there. You also need to be relaxed and calm enough not to be using food for comfort (else, you'll tend to consume too much food).
Avatar f tn Why is weight loss so slow sometimes? I work out 5-6 days wk for at least hr-aerobic & deadlifing/kettle bells. Also keeping at 1,500 cals per day.
Avatar f tn Body weight, adipose fat weight and blood lipid levels were also lower in the cocoa group. It appears that chocolate helps to restrict fat metabolism and storage, while stimulating thermogenesis, or fat burning, in the body. Scientists concluded that cocoa flavanols can prevent weight gain and obesity related to a high-fat diet.

Avatar f tn I read online that if you eat too few calories your metabolism slowing down causing weight loss to cease. After learning this I decided to up my calories to 1350 per day. This number is about 400 below what my maintenance calories should be. For the past week I have been eating 1350 calories per day and continuing to work out for an hour per day (cardio and weight lifting). I weighed myself this morning and the scale read 105.5 pounds! So, what is going on!?
