Avatar f tn Hi, I would recommend you stop all sugar, breads, rices, fizzy drinks. Any carb intake should be done before 13:00. Excercise vigourously and you definitely see results. I have lost 9kgs in 4 weeks so far.

I think it's easier to lose the weight now for Jackie than if she waited to try to achieve some weight loss in later decades when the metabolism slows making the task more difficult. It's great to be a healthy weight for so many things, lowering risk factors for serious health problems!

Safe weight loss is 1-2 pounds/week, so that means the most you should plan on losing is about 10-14 pounds. There's no reason why you shouldn't get started, though. The first thing you should do is eliminate sodas or other fizzy, sugary drinks from your diet, along with sugary, processed foods.

Make sure you eat protein with every meal/snack, because protein keeps you fuller longer and it also helps build muscle. Cutting simple carbs, such as those found in sugar, products made with white flour, white rice, most processed foods will go a long way toward helping you lose weight. Center your meals around veggies, high quality/low fat protein, such as lean meats, low/no fat dairy, eggs, nuts, seeds, whole grains etc. Most important is to make water your beverage of choice. Even diet sodas will not help you lose weight.

However, I still suffer from all the major side effects and had to go on leave to try and just focus on my health. The most important one to me has been my weight loss. Since the beginning, 03/09, I've lost 60 lbs and am still loosing. My appetite has been little to none, but I am attempting to change that.
Avatar f tn Is that 53 kg? If so, you're about right for your height. Maybe all you need to do is tone your muscles. You might look into trying to fit in some yoga, 3-4 times/week. Yoga is excellent for toning and strengthening muscles. It stretches your muscles and leaves you with a "long and lean" feeling, because you tend to have better posture. There are some excellent yoga videos on YouTube; check them out and see if you might be able to get interested.

In 2011 I was pregnant with my second son and I lost quite a bit of weight and was concerned but the doctors weren't since my son seemed to be doing fine. By the end of that pregnancy I had only gained 11lbs back of what I had lost. As soon as I had him I dropped the 11lbs and then some. I continued dropping weight but since I wasn't pregnant I decided maybe it was a good thing, since I was overweight to start with.

Usually in your first week that may be a little more depending on how big of a change you make, but an average of 1-2 lbs a week is ideal. I also think it's important to avoid all those easy quick weight loss things- those pills, meals, shakes, etc don't teach you how to keep this weight off. What you really need is a complete lifestyle change so you never ever get back your excess weight.
