Safe weight loss is 1-2 pounds/week so at the most, you should only try to lose 20 pounds. Trying to run off that much weight will be very hard for your body, because running is very high impact. You will have much better luck if you mix the running with some weight training. Congrats on your weight loss this year! I have to slightly disagree with the responses to do crunches. Not that doing crunches will do any harm, but ab work alone isnt enough to change your stomach. You arent going to see any kind of definition in your stomach if there is still a layer of fat covering your abs. And crunches don't burn enough calories to trim your stomach down either. Cardio will be more effective for trimming your waistline than crunches would be.

I am 43 and started working with a trainer 13 months ago. I did not start losing weight until about 2.5 months into it. Your body is changing losing fat and gaining lean muscle, your clothes will show the change that doesn't show up on the scale. YOu will begin to lose weight. I have lost almost 50 lbs, and feel great. My goall is to burn 500 calories a workout. I lift 3 days and do cardio 2 to 3. Sometime, I do 10 minutes of cardio after lifting days. Just made an appointment with a medical clinic for weight loss using the appetite suppr.,water pills and B12 injections... goal is about 25-30lbs loss. Just curious of someone who has been on similar program if it truly works and how long it usually takes to lose the amount of weight I'm wanting to lose. Then, a highschool friend died unexpectedly! Anyway, the xanax (.50 mg) helped me sleep, but the weight loss doc doesn't prescribe extra meds--have to go to the pcp for that and I don't have a refill so I am taking the xanax sparingly. The clinic told me he usually tells patients to take some benedryl at night. Or Tylenol PM. Hope that helps. I do that, too, but my youngest doesn't wake up every night. 10 lbs is great for 3 weeks on phen.
I just wanted to make people aware of this possible side effect. Weight loss and weight gain may be difficult to manage while on SSRIs so it should always be taken into consideration. I take zoloft for anxiety and it has been a tremendous help. My doctor simply monitors my weight and we are working together to make sure I eat properly and don't loose too many pounds.

I don't think I'll weigh less but my goal is to try not to gain over 25pds since I started over weight. If you lose weight in the very beginning I been told thats ok and normal due to the nausea. I lost 5 pounds in the first 3 weeks but I've put it back on and they said as long as it didn't continue it would be ok. AS of last week OB said everything was going perfect!! so I'm going with that!!
It's much easier to think of losing 5 pounds than it is to think of losing 50 pounds, which can seem daunting.
