Avatar f tn To lose 60 pounds in 2 months is a bad idea for you, because the healthy way is 2-3 pounds of weight loss in week. Kill this idea of losing weight. So it is more suggestible for you that, you can loss only 25-30 pounds for 2 months in a healthy way.
Avatar f tn I'm 18 weeks 5 days along and I've gained a total of 6 pounds since the start of my pregnancy. My dr. Isn't concerned because I lost about 8 pounds the first 14 weeks & have finally started to gain but he mentioned its low compared to normal. Just wondering what you've experienced as far as gaining & losing weight & where you were around 18-19 weeks.
Avatar f tn I agree that losing 20-25 lbs in a month is an unrealistic goal. Safe weight loss is 1-2 lbs/week. I'd recommend that you calculate your daily calorie needs and just start losing now and see how far you get in a month, but don't stop there. Once you reach your goal, you'll be set and won't have to worry about losing in a hurry.
Avatar f tn Healthy weight loss should only consist of losing a couple pounds or less a week in order to keep it off long term.
Avatar f tn Losing 40 pounds by Sep 14 is a pretty tough goal; that's only 12 weeks away. Safe weight loss is 1-2 pounds/week; you'd have to plan on losing a little over 3 pounds/week and wouldn't be able to backslide a bit. I think your goal is a bit optimistic. You should first check to make sure you don't have an medical issues that might prevent you from losing weight, such as hypothyroidism or insulin resistance. Your doctor can order some simple blood tests.
Avatar n tn Hello Darrin, I considered the Pronokal Program based on my experience that came to me in a time when I had totally resigned myself that I would remain overweight for the rest of my life. I had done a few diets in hopes of becoming thin. I had reached my goal once, lost pounds many times, only to gain them back and then some. But beyond all of this, God surprises me within 4 weeks on the program, my cholesterol level had dropped nearly 70 points. I can’t say enough about the Pronokal diet.
1458590 tn?1333403812 ) Try not to look at your weight loss goal of 40 pounds, as that seems like a mountain....maybe aim for 6 pounds this month, and maybe 4-5 pounds a month thereafter. This may mean it takes a while to reach your main goal but the smaller goals will feel more achievable! Good luck!
Avatar f tn Safe weight loss is 1-2 lbs/week, so it's feasible to lose 10 lbs in a month. Whether it's healthy or not, depends on how you do it. If you simply calculate your daily caloric needs and cut your intake to that, eating healthy food and getting a reasonable amount of exercise, then it's healthy. If you're going to take drugs or weight loss supplements and try starving yourself, it won't be healthy.
Avatar f tn Congrats on your weight loss this year! I have to slightly disagree with the responses to do crunches. Not that doing crunches will do any harm, but ab work alone isnt enough to change your stomach. You arent going to see any kind of definition in your stomach if there is still a layer of fat covering your abs. And crunches don't burn enough calories to trim your stomach down either. Cardio will be more effective for trimming your waistline than crunches would be.
222369 tn?1274474635 My blood pressure is now in the low range (averaging 108/58). At what point in my weight loss (goal of 220 or lower) would you think I'd need to have my BP meds changed (if at all). I just thought a member here may have already gone through this and would have some advice. Thanks in advance!!
Avatar f tn Try running your buns off. Eat lots of fish and veggies. If you can't run, walk 2-3 miles daily. My Dr says drink lots of water too.
Avatar n tn I doubt that any doctor would support a weight loss goal of 25 lbs. per month unless you would be morbidly obese. Most of the weight you would lose would be water weight anyway, and it would come back quickly. I recently consulted with a weight loss doctor who prescribed a sensible diet (moderately low carb) and the medication Adipex. That combination was magic for me. The diet resulted in rapid weight loss, and the prescribed medication made it easier for me to follow the diet.

I'm not really sure of my weight loss this week because last weekend I partied a little much so I was way dehydrated then of course I got on the scale a lot later then I normally due. I didn't do all that well on eating this week but I did work out more then I have in months. My weight said I'm down a pound but I'm not sure how accurate that is... Oh well, here is to a new week to try again.
Avatar m tn How many calories should I eat each day to lose a healthy amount of weight each week. I am a 6 foot 1 inch male, 28 years old and weigh 261 pounds.
Avatar f tn So ladies, what is your post partum goal weight? How much have you gained? Are you worried? How many of you plan to breastfeed? I'm 9 weeks postpartum and have been breastfeeding since my son was 2 days old. I've lost 45 lbs out of the 63 i gained. My goal weight is 125-130 then i will adjust then.
Avatar f tn 3 months ago I went to a weight loss doctor to lose 50 pounds. He pulled bloodwork and everything was normal: GGT 43 ALT 23 AST 23 Alkaline Phosphate 97. But my cholesterol and trigylcerides were all high. So he put me on Phentermine 37.5 mg and 1000mcg B12 sublingual per day, in addition to 1200 calories and no more than 20 grams of fat per day with 5 day a week exercising.
