1046985 tn?1305117048 Has anyone got any advice, or stories of hope. I have heard that ovarian problems can cause weight gain, and that its almost a given with menopause, aaargh..
4437866 tn?1388119624 t one of them that loses weight. Some women I know have lost weight during pregnancy only.because they finally started eating right instead of crap 24/7. So I guess my question of these women are how much overweight are they before they got pregnant, and how are they trying?
Avatar f tn I started at 152 (I'm 5'5") and my Dr really got on me about my weight gain, too. My goal was 25, and I've gained 40. I'm 38W4D. I was really down about it, too especially when I would look at pics from before I was pregnant. I've always been self-conscious about my weight but this is by far the heaviest I've been. I look at it this way: I've lost weight before and I WILL do it again. I've heard stories of women gaining 60+ and bouncing back quickly.

Avatar n tn Sorry, I don't have any RAI experience to relate, but had a total thryroidectomy for Graves two years ago - it accomplishes the same result as RAI but in somewhat quicker fashion. I have worked hard over the past 2 years to keep my weight to where it was when I had the surgery. I have gained some and lost some, but have managed to keep my weight stable. The key is to get your thyroid levels stable so you aren't hypo all the time - that is what leads to weight gain in a lot of cases.
1564935 tn?1298597929 s just one more stresser while trying to conceive. In the meantime try losing weight...they say even a change as small as 10lbs increases your chances in becoming pregnant. I really want to stress the weight issue bc being overweight you put yourself and your baby at risk of major complications that can be prevented if you were at a healthier weight. I know you want this really bad but please consider this before trying other options like invetro, fertility meds, etc.
Avatar m tn Last year I finally came off of it because I could not deal with the weight gain, and I was married for a year and wasn't worried about pregnancy. But the weight I gained is ridiculous. I am I was 24 when I went on BC and since I went from weighing 145 to 208 and I'm 5'9. I went into the Army but once I got married and got on BC the weight came. Even after doing PT (physical training) in the Army, which was running 4-5 miles every other day, my weight continued to sore.
Avatar f tn I did gain some weight, more like 5 pounds. My doctor was really upset, actually every time I go she makes me feel so bad because she says I gained way too much in a month's time. Anyway, as long as you feel ok and healthy and stay active (basic!), you are good.
Avatar n tn Generally speaking, to lose weight calorie intake must be less than you burn with activity, and to gain weight you must take in more calories than you burn. This situation (being underweight and pregnant) is about the only time women have to work to get more calories, but to do so, find foods you like and eat a lot of them. Sometimes pregnant women lose their appetite, so this will be a very individualized thing.
Avatar f tn How much weight should you gain in the first trimester? I started off at 158 and have gained 4 pounds already and I'm only 7 weeks.
Avatar n tn I was never able to gain weight since high school I'm now 26....I'm pregnant with my first kid n I wasn't able to gain much weight in the beginning now that I'm 24 weeks I've gained 20 lbs in a short amount of time...it came outta no where lol..
6658929 tn?1395711522 Just be sure you are eating right and taking your vitamins. Some women gain a lot of weight, some hardly gain any.
Avatar f tn The stuff on the app is a very general "average" and not necessarily going to be accurate for all women. Some women lose weight some gain and we don't all gain the same amounts or show loss/gain the same way.
Avatar f tn I think your weight gain is going well, they actually prefer you to gain weight slowly, especially in your first trimester.
Avatar f tn I started at 112 (3 weeks) and now im 117 (9 weeks). Its really hard for me to gain weight, others may consider it a blessing but i live in minnesota, i need fat!
Avatar f tn I'm a plus size girl, not excessively so size 18/20. And I gained 70 with my first, 35 with my second and 15 with my 3rd....I am currently 11wk4days and have lost weight. My Dr says as a bigger girl if I can safely gain 20-25.....you are right though some women are going to see the 'exsessive' weight gain on the app and freak out....not cool. It should just let u track ur weight....bot give input.
Avatar f tn Im 16 weeks and I gain and lose constantly and I never gain more than a pound or two. I also have a visible bump. I was worried about it but my midwife said everything was fine with me and baby. Weight gain is different for every pregnancy. I suffer with morning sickness and I have since 6 weeks, so weight gain will be a slow process for me until sickness starts to ease off.
Avatar n tn 22 weeks in my case..
Avatar f tn I am 14 weeks and so disappointed in my weight gain. Before I found out I was pregnant, I lost 22lbs. I have gained 12. My first pregnancy, I delivered 9 lbs 11oz. I am plus size woman but healthy and don't want any complications. Any advice on what you've done to maintain weight to reduce too much weight gain? Someone tell I am not the only one out there. Thanks.
Avatar f tn Some women don't, others like me do. I gained 50 lbs. in 1 yr.
Avatar f tn Of course you'll gain weight.
Avatar f tn No it's not & u shouldn't worry unless ur Doc is concerned. Lots of women lose or dnt gain weight in the 1st trimester. Even a little after. I've been so sick from the beginning (5 week's) & lost 10lbs. Now I'm 14 week's. I still get sick bt it's not ALL day like it was before & I've gained 3lbs in the last week 1/2.
Avatar f tn I feel great about my weight gain..Ive only gained 6 pounds and 8 ounces..
Avatar f tn As long as they say the baby is healthy your good. Some women only gain 10 lbs so women gain 50. It's different for everyone.
3407116 tn?1348692212 Women will gain what they need during pregnancy, I don't get why they comment on ANYTHING if the baby is growing healthy, and good. Is your baby measuring behind? Via ultrasounds or fundal height? Is he/she moving good? H/B good? Otherwise I wouldn't worry about it. It's not fair just to say "gain weight" if you're eating properly, and your baby is growing fine.
