So glad u posted this! I've been wondering the same thing. I have 4 n feel like we are complete, but u just never know!?? :-) I've never used any kind of birth control so don't even know where to start!.?

My friend has done the depo shot two different times and each time she has gained alot of weight with it, anyone else experience weight gain? I would like to do the depo shot bc I know I cant remember to always take the pill but I already have a hard time losing weight any advice???

I've had the Mirena in for about 3 years, no period *thumbs up*. no weight gain, no hair loss, and no mood swings. I recently begin to experience a foul smell even shortly after taking a bath. I went to my OB/GYN who then told me I had bacteria vaginosis (first time ever), no STD ever. I told my husband and he was like if the Mirena is causing this I need to take it out. The only thing I hate is the foul smell even after sex. I am getting it removed Friday and just getting my tubes tied.

Is it possible that the bleeding is actually a period or should I be worried about something having gone wrong with the essure procedure or is this normal after the essure? I was thinking about the scar tissue that forms around the inserts surely that would cause some bleeding. I'm just not sure.

Did your actual period seem normal? or could it be a side effect of the essure? you can always take a test to be sure and if it is negative see your doctor to try to figure out what it could be if it persists!

I decided to do this because one of my friend had same problem with mine, and she blocked one fallopian tube by the Essure coil to do IVF as well last year, and she actually got pregnant naturally after 3 months of her Essure procedure. Her pregnancy is about 6 months now and has no problem so far. But I am still worry if I had a right choice, because I read about so many people are having problem after Essure such as a lot of pain, coil breaks through uterus, coil was bent etc...

I do trust my doctor, but I would lie if I say that I am not scared of the life after hysterectomy. I am scared of gaining weight and not being able to loose it. I am scared of going into early menopause, not having sex drive, etc. But I cannot live with the pain I am feeling right now, it hurts when I am seating, when I am standing I feel like someone is stabbing me down, the sex now is not all that enjoyable because of the pain.....

i was on birth control pills when i was younger and they made me gain weight and super sick. the only birth control method i used is condoms! thats what saves me all the time. but hey God dont make mistakes.

I have also been given some info on a procedure called essure, where they go in through the vagina (about 6-8 weeks after delivery) and scar the tubes, permanently blocking them. I am CERTAIN that I want a permanent procedure done. I did however love being on birth control pills ( great skin & shorter peroids) I am 34 yr old & i don't think it is so healthy to be on them forever....

I had my tubes blocked with the Essure Procedure in 2007. 10 months after the procedure was done I started having pelvic pain on my left side. After a colonoscopy, laparoscopy, and 3 ultrasound the doctor still hasn't found the source of this pain. on my last ultrasound the technician didn't had a clue of what the essure procedure was and asked me if I had an IUD. I told her no, that I had the essure procedure done, she mentioned that she could see it in my uterus.

s wife after 4 children decided to have an Essure implant and after the initial inflammatory phase, instead of getting back to normal, her health started deteriorating rapidly. Chronic fatigue, unexplained fevers and pains, allergies. Her Gyn. suggested to see an infectious disease doctor to be checked for Lymes Disease! Who's kidding who here?

I was not told by my doctor about any side effects that essure procedure can cause. The procedure itself was very painful and my doctor didn't give me any pain medication during the procedure. I did essure 5 years ago and since then I have experience nothing but the pain in my pelvic area. Doctor performed laparoscopy thinking it is endometriosis, but after the procedure I was told it was very mild and she was not sure if that was cause of my pain.

ya i was looking into getting essure also but after reviewing it and seeing many womans issues with it i opted to not have it done... i have read girls saying that they bleed literally all the time while they have it and end up needing it removed when did you have the essure done? i dont think you have to worry about something actually being wrong with you .. I am thinking that its the Essure causing it.... drs rarley admit to something like that causing issues...

My OB is not concerned and says it has nothing to do with essure. I do think so since I was not bleeding after the previous essure came out. Than about two weeks later I had the third placed and I have not quit bleeding and passing clots. So basically I have been bleeding non stop since Georgia Marie was born a little over 5 months ago!!!

If you were my patient, I would recommend IVF as your best bet for pregnancy after the procedure. There have been documented pregnancies following the procedure. Good luck!

Yes it stops pregnancy from happening but I get every side affect.. weight gain, mood swings.. low sex drive.. I am at a cross road of what to do. I am currently 33 weeks with #2 and already signed my tubal ligation paper work...

s worth investigating. I had issues after my tubal related to hair loss, weight gain, etc. But there are other factors that could have contributed to that (stress). Let me just suggest this, though - do some long, hard thinking. I regretted my tubal the NIGHT I had my son. And, at that point, I had no idea just how much more I would end up regretting it. I truly wish that doctors would make women see a counselor before making such a decision.

and i have put on ten more since i quit...dont know but some lose alot of weight instead...guess we just work on the weight after we quit..perhaps like smoking...u take it away and weight comes on cos metabolism slows down...
