Monster I have been taken off Warfarin, prescribed after surgery. I possess 14 2.5mg tablets. What is the safest way for me to dispose of them?

After a year the consensus is to continue aspirin (81mg is OK), and unless there is a special need for an additional anti-platelet medication the plavix should be discontinued based on the risk of uncontrolled bleeding, etc. is greater than any benefit.

You want to very careful with warfarin, an overdose could be dangerous. I have been on warfarin 2-1/2 years with no more than my normal headaches.

Avatar f tn You can eat basically anything as long as all meat is cooked through, and deli meat or processed meat is heated to steaming to kill bacteria. No raw foods. No unpasteurized dairy. Avoid soft serve ice creams because of bacteria buildup. Wash fruits and veggies thoroughly. Probably want to avoid alcohol but I'd you are cooking with it and reducing it that should be fine.

Said some folks do not tolerate warfarin well but do well on coumadin and i am to start the coumadin today. I would be lying if i didn't say i am a bit gunshy at this point. This med has made me absolutely miserable and today is my 43rd bday...

But I'm still not an expert. To my way of thinking, the experts are the hematologists, pharmacists, and other health professionals who manage large numbers of people's warfarin on a daily basis.

I don't know the relationship between having a pacemaker and needing Warfarin. Warfarin is a blood anticoagulant (thinner) as I'm sure you know. It is taken to reduce clot formation caused by something line Atrial Fibrillation or mechanical heart valves.
