Im recently diagnosed with A-Fib and am sheduled for an electro-cardioversion next week (after 4 weeks warfarin therapy). The cardiologist wants to start me on Sotalol 3 days before on an outpatient basis. I've read where Sotalol should only be started in a closely monitored hospital setting for 3 days. (WebMD, NIH.gov, others..), and tells me this is common practice.
I would appreciate hraing from others on Sotalol as to how their dosage was started..

We are very careful with his diet and he basically eats no green leafy vegi. We have noticed since the addtition of the 20 mg every other day that his memory is fading quickly.

In general, patients on heparin should not experiment with supplements without their doctor's approval. Supplements can be great, but they aren't as exact in their dosing as a drug like heparin, and doctors don't know much about them.
The protocol guidelines are aspirin and plavix for year or a little longer if the implant was DES. Drug enduced stents have propensity to form a clot when compared to bare metal stents.
After a year the consensus is to continue aspirin (81mg is OK), and unless there is a special need for an additional anti-platelet medication the plavix should be discontinued based on the risk of uncontrolled bleeding, etc. is greater than any benefit.

i just bought some L-Thyrosine and B6. I was wondering how to take it?
i took 1 (500mg) pill of L-Thyrosine. and 1 (500mg) pill of B6 at the same time, after i ate breakfast.
how much should i be taking? i took it about an hour and a half ago...i feel nothing.
i don't want to feel wired or anything like that. i have 31 days clean. i feel great for the most part but still feel a lack of energy sometimes. hoping this helps.
also how is L-Thyrosine.different from 5HTP?
My meds were changed from Metoprolol to Diltiazem 360 mg per day and Fleconade 50 mg 2x per day plus Warfarin. The Metoprolol 25mcg 1 x daily has been making me wheeze for the past four years, but no one ever thought to change the meds. I have been on this new med protocol for 1.5 weeks. I just started the Fleconide and Warfarin three days ago.
My question is I need to loose 45 pounds asap.

Given that yesterday he said to not take the warfarin he was changing me from the genertic warfarin and putting me on the brand name of the med coumadin. Said some folks do not tolerate warfarin well but do well on coumadin and i am to start the coumadin today. I would be lying if i didn't say i am a bit gunshy at this point. This med has made me absolutely miserable and today is my 43rd bday...
