514510 tn?1272718736 Ok after the birth of my son 2 months ago, I devloped high blood pressure my readings will range 150/95. They put me on blood pressure medicine. Symptoms due to the high blood pressure is fatigue feeling I will faint headache nausea. I cannot even hold my new baby without feeling like I am going to pass out. My heartrate can jump to 140 and when I sit immediatly it goes into the 70's.
Avatar n tn A drastic change in diet can alter INR also, but in my own personal experience, it has usually been other meds that caused me to need to change my warfarin dosage and not my diet. An INR that is consistently out of range is dangerous. Don't worry about maintaining the same dose of warfarin. Worry about maintaining an INR that is consistently within range. Whatever dose of warfarin you have to take to stay in range is okay.
Avatar m tn when you have a heart beat with a normal blood pressure reading and the heart rate is 114 and you feel sleep and want to sleep most of the time., what could be going on and am I in danger. I have had knee surgery 3 weeks ago and have been taking warfrin and went off of it by the Dr.'s order 3 days ago.
882102 tn?1240622411 It seems to be triggered by any slight fever (a head cold for example) spicy food, a cold drink on a hot day and other things. I am now taking 8mg of Atacand a day for blood pressure, Sotocor 80mg, a baby aspirin and magnesium aspartate dihydrate (1 pill of 550 mg - 37.4 mg of Mg ). The magnesium seems to help heart stability but taken in combination with calcium heart stability decreased significantly.
Avatar f tn So, if your mother’s AVM is small in size and is not causing much problems and was an incidental finding during an MRI done for some other reason, then the risk of it bleeding is less. However, high blood pressure and strenuous activities should be avoided at all cost. The INR and prothrombin time should be monitored strictly to reduce chances of bleed and stroke. Please discuss this in detail with a neurologist and the cardiologist. Take care!
Avatar m tn The result of impurities in the blood vessels. The only way impurities can get into the blood stream is (1) by hypodermic injections and drugs, whether taken as medicine or otherwise; (2) by deposits in the blood stream of inorganic atoms accumulating from cooked and processed foods, particularly the concentrated starches and sugars; and (3) by retention of waste in the eliminative organs and channels.
Avatar m tn I have been prescribed with Atenolol for the AF and Warfarin (5mg) to reduce risk of blod clotting leading to stroke. Sie effects of Atenolol fr me are making me very tired and quite dizzy with BP dropping to 100/60. I understand the need for Warfarin (although I thought maybe aspirin would do given I have no othr complicating factors) but wat's the point of Atenolo?
Avatar m tn He started me blood thinner (Coumadin), I was already taking Plavix and aspirin. The plan is to thing my blood and then take me to the hospital and zap heart back. I am very frustrated, thank you for taking the time. Good luck.
Avatar m tn Warfarin, in a short explanation, help to stop the formation of blood clots if i understand well, but what about the existing clots we might have already.
Avatar f tn I walked to a localclinic and my blood pressure wasa little high but the nurse said i was o.k. so i will try and see a doc.Anyone ever have this happen.Regards.
996946 tn?1503249112 Can warfarin weaken blood vessels or have adverse effects on the heart or other organs over time?
Avatar n tn After reading an article on postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, I discovered dehydration leads to low blood volume which causes low blood volume which lowers blood pressure and the heart increases rate significantly to supply blood to the entire body. BINGO! I immediately started drinking 2 liters water (distilled) in addition to my others liquids which were primarily limited to coffee, water with meds and exercise, and a few beers.
Avatar f tn Also, put some ice pack on the cut and apply some pressure. This can help the blood to clot at the cut. Avoid undue chewing and take semisolid or liquid diet. As soon as you feel the bleed apply pressure. Call your doctor immediately. You will need to get bleeding, clotting and prothrombin time done to reset your warfarin dose. Take care!
Avatar m tn I thought my pulse would go down sooner but it is still crazy high. I am on warfarin and plavix. I am 61 and used to be very active. Never had other health issues. Allergic to metropol, and have low blood pressure. 98/60 usually. I have had Echos and EKG and x-rays. Doctors all think everything is good, but they don't seem to know what to do about this heart rate. Will it eventually slow down? 2 1/2 months now. How long can it go at this rate without problems?
Avatar f tn I have decided to continue Warfarin.. I am in permanent AFib, so my blood clot risk is high. I didn't see the cost of Pradaxa justified in my case as I get along well with Warfarin. As I told Suzie... on her last post, I have undergone mitral valve repair surgery and my leakage had been reduced to minor (I still have my biological valve, not a substitute).
1413627 tn?1281837531 RA, Degenerative Disc Disease (2 disc removed in neck and 3 in lower back) , Vascular problems in the legs, GERD and stomach ulcers, High Blood Pressure, High Cholestral (allergic to statins, so not on anything last test showed 339) I also have 2 tears in my right shoulder with spurs, and recently I was diagnosed with mitochrondrial disease. My meds are: Warfarin 6 mg.
Avatar f tn taking warfarin at a high dose for a longer period of time is only advised for individuals who are at a high risk of developing blood clots that could cause a heart attack, stroke or pulmonary embolism. There is a risk/benefit decision that would require professional judgement. Thanks for your question, and if you have any further questions, you are welcome to respond. Take care.
Avatar f tn s usually meant to be kept between 2 and 4, or between 2 and 3. So 7 is high but I believe that people on warfarin (brand name Coumadin) can find themselves at 9 or higher not infrequently. That's not good. Yes, when hemoglobin is low, a doctor would usually consider that bleeding might be making it low. Another possible cause is that a person isn't getting enough iron, or producing enough red blood cells (as in marrow cancer), or maybe the red blood cells are being destroyed.
Avatar m tn I have taken as much as 200 mg of Metoprolol and had a lot of trouble with very low blood pressure and some dizziness, this was changed to a combination of lower dose (50 mg) BB and CCB. My blood pressure is near normal and my HR is (resting) is at a reasonable level. I am not a candidate for ablation because of an enlarged heart (left atrium in particular). Have you discussed an ablation with your doctor? Given troublesome symptoms I think a ablation should be considered.
Avatar f tn DOES ANYONE KNOW IF WARFARIN CAN LOWER YOUR BLOOD COUNT AND AND ALSO LOWER CALCIUM AND VITAMIN D LEVELS?
Avatar n tn ginger and glucosamine sulfate will affect coumadin (warfarin) I'm on warfarin and can't take ginger or glucosamine and a host of other supplements.
Avatar m tn I agree with Jon that managing high blood pressure is key. An echocardiogram looks at the various structures and functions of the heart. The echo you received should be compared to a future echo at some point to monitor for any changes. However, the LA is unlikely to undergo further changes with the effective management of high blood pressure. Atrial fibrillation is when the atria doesn't completely eject all the blood with each heartbeat. It is evidenced by an irregular heartrate.
612551 tn?1450022175 I had a surgical procedure last Thursday that required I stop all anticoagulant (warfarin) and aspirin (low dose) 5 days before the procedure. I recall my cardiologist being uncomfortable with the length of time I would be without clot prevention medications. I have permanent atrial fibrillation, so my heart is in the clot production mode 24/7. I have been back on warfarin and aspirin for two days and believe my INR is back in the 2-3 range.
