Avatar m tn Green tea and green tea supplements have become very popular in the last few years and have been touted as a panacea for many illnesses. While drinking green tea may be beneficial, there is less evidence to support the use of green tea extract, which is often marketed and used for weight loss. While there is some evidence to support this, there may be some risk. In a Clinical Observation published in The Annals of Internal Medicine (2006; 144: 68-69), Dr.
Avatar n tn I was put on Warfarin immediately and have been on it ever since. Six weeks after starting the Warfarin, I had another TEE and the clots were 90% gone. They tried for seven and a half hours to do the ablation, but were not successful unfortunately. I will be on the Warfarin forever, but that is fine because you can’t eat leafy green veggies when you are on it and I despise green veggies so now I have the best excuse not to eat them.
Avatar f tn so if he eats alot of salads, green beans and such it will effect the out come.. he needs to be consistent with what he eats..you dont want the blood too thin... if you were to have an accident you could bleed to death... and you dont want it too thick if your a heart patient... because thick blood clots much easier and can cause a stroke or heart attack.. Im not in the medical field but I think what i told you is pretty close to correct... hope this helps/...
Avatar n tn Hi, I was diagnosed with Pulmonary Embolism 3 years ago with hypercoagulability (genetic) and have been on 2.5mg of Warfarin per day for the past 3 years. I have just had an abdominal scan, and was told that I have a dense, fatty liver. I have tried to eat as healthy as possible, but had to cut a lot of greens out of my diet, as it affected my INR and would have lead to me having to increase my Warfarin dosage. Now I am not sure if this lead to the 'fatty liver'problem.
Avatar f tn I actually heard that green tea is not a great idea. I TTC for 8 months before resorting to IVF and drastically tried to cut down my caffiene intake during that time. I was advised by my acupuncturist to drink black or red tea only and not that much of it. Honestly though I don't think any of this makes a huge difference. I tried everything and nothing worked for me, I am a healthy 31 year old who was eventually diagnosed with 'unexplained infertility'.

Avatar f tn Any tea that is decaf is okay. Black tea has the highest caffeine and green tea is middle, while herbal is least. Also, as long as you are drinking a lot of water in addition to caffeine, you are fine. But anything decaf is perfectly fine.
1495281 tn?1305307348 A bazillion Chinese and Japanese have been drinking it for centuries, so it must be good! There is no evidence to suggest it is harmful to thyroid. If anything it is a great calming drink, helps with feeling full after a meal, hence why the Asians use it after a meal, not many fat Asians till they get on a western diet! So drink up! It's all good!
Avatar f tn Green tea is suposed to have wonderful health benefits. But you definitely don't want a tea with caffeine in it. My LLMD said no caffeine with Lyme. Be sure to take Vitamin D and C. Both are necessary for good immune function, which you really need right now.
