Avatar n tn 5 years my cardiologist suggests me to change to warfarin + asprin theraphy. I am scared of warfarin due to its side effects and risks. What are my risks if I continue with my currrent asprin+clopidogrel dual anticoagulant theraphy? Shall appreciate advice or sharing your experience with these drugs or necessity of changing over from one drug to another?.
Avatar n tn You should contact your caregiver for advice regarding your medication as they would have your medical history, general health, etc. There is a noted drug interaction with Viagra and warfarin in certain patients. In patients who have pulmonary hypertension, there is an increased risk of bleeding when taking these medications together, etc.. Thanks for your question, take care.
Avatar n tn and because it has acetaminophen and caffeine in it, it is not an appropriate medication to take daily or multiple times a week for the acute treatment of migraine headache because it will likely cause rebound headache if taken often, although taking it a few times a month is fine. I take a beta blocker but I do not take propanolol so I really couldn't tell you about drug interactions.
Avatar m tn Pradaxa is taken twice a day, shorter life in the body and is cleared from the body quicker than coumadin (warfarin). With warfarin, Vitamin K is used to reverse overanticoagulation in patients, there is no antidote for Pradaxa. Warfarin a lot cheaper than Pradaxa. Good luck with your ablation. Hope you do well on Pradaxa! Best wishes!!
Avatar f tn According to some studies, fish oil supplements may elevate the international normalised ratio (INR) of people taking warfarin. and may provide additional anticoagulamt effect. Fish oil, an omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid, may affect platelet aggregation and/or vitamin K-dependent coagulation factors. The exact mechanism of interaction is unknown and further tests may need to be done.
Avatar n tn Great site! I've bookmarked it for future reference. Thanks for the information.
Avatar n tn To date there have been no reports of an important interaction in humans between warfarin and clopidogrel. Nonetheless, because warfarin increases the risk of bleeding, blood tests to measure the degree to which the blood is anti-coagulated or thinned (prothrombin time; INR) may be ordered to assess the degree of blood-thinning when warfarin and clopidogrel are used together.
Avatar f tn s in the sigmoid colon, and recent imaging uncovered suspected diverticulitis /colitis, believed responsible for a condition of chronic anemia which evaded detection by both repeated upper and lower endoscopic procedures and cam swallow studys Could the administration of Hydrocodone/APAP 5/500 in three doses totaling 1500mg acetaminophen coconmittantly with Decadron and Primidone possibly result in acute liver failure in a patient presenting this history?
Avatar f tn Per the above site. There is no interaction with Valium and Harvoni . You can check drugs on that site to see if there is an interaction. As always, it says contact your doctor because all interactions may not be known.
Avatar m tn I am having some severe side effects concerning short term memory loss, irritability, and fatigue. 318582 tn?1248118551 The damage caused by alcohol-acetaminophen interaction is more likely to occur when acetaminophen is taken after, rather than before, the alcohol has been metabolized. This liver damage is so serious it leads to the need for liver transplants. Since 1998, the Food and Drug Administration in the United States has required a specific warning on labels about acetaminophen.
Avatar f tn Additionally, both tylenol and Midol contain acetaminophen, so it would not be a good idea to take the two together. Similarly, the Midol (cramps and body aches) contains ibuprofen and should not be taken with an additional dose of ibuprofen. You can read up more about the drugs interacting with Septra at the link posted below. www.drugs.com/drug-interactions/septra_d00124.
1570981 tn?1295831355 It says something about the interaction of these two drugs. And my english arent that good to translate the meaning of the words. " Fluvoxamine may also inhibit the elimination and increase the blood levels of theophylline (Theodur, Uniphyl), warfarin (Coumadin), alprazolam (Xanax), and triazolam (Halcion)." - from the web. what does this means? help!!!
612551 tn?1450022175 Anyone know why the surgeon would prescribe this very expensive form of anticoagulant when oral administered warfarin is very inexpensive and doesn't require sticking oneself with a needle? I suppose it is more effective - I'll ask him myself if I ever see him again.
Avatar f tn when I have drug interaction questions I go to druginteractions.com and enter the drugs that I am taking and it lets me know if they have any interactions or precautions. I also take fiorocet which has tylenol in it but I do not know off hand about the barbituate and how that would react with the ibuprofen at that dosage so check it out if you haven't already or for future reference.
Avatar n tn The ingredients are acetaminophen, guaifenesin, and phenylephrine. Will any of those ingredients caus a positive drug or alcohol test?
Avatar n tn There is no interaction between Alli (Orlistat) and oral contraceptive pills. The only listed interactions Orlistat has with other medications is a heart rhythm control medication known as Amiodarone, a thyroid medication known as Levothyroxine, Fat soluble vitamins, and the blood thinner known as Warfarin. Additionally, if you have taken Orlistat and oral contraceptive pills before with no changes the likelihood of the combination having an effect on your cycle this month is very small.
Avatar f tn The main thing, though, is not to get dehydrated (as Jaquta said) and not to suddenly change your salt intake (for instance by changing your diet or not eating and only drinking liquids that don't have any salt in them. Hope you feel better soon!
Avatar m tn t know how warfarin is affecting your life style. I have been on warfarin for years and had no concerns about running and bike riding, and using power wood working tools. All of these activities puts one at an increased risk of a cut and bleeding, but I simply take the risk. On the other hand, I don't sky dive, or pick fights ....
1464587 tn?1307491605 Has anyone ever takin bladderwrack and then maybe 12 hours later had a reaction of severe dizziness after eating? Dizziness was like when you were a kid and you used to spin around until you couldn't anymore? The reaction afterward was what I had everytime I moved or even shifted.
Avatar n tn ginger and glucosamine sulfate will affect coumadin (warfarin) I'm on warfarin and can't take ginger or glucosamine and a host of other supplements.
Avatar f tn DOES ANYONE KNOW IF WARFARIN CAN LOWER YOUR BLOOD COUNT AND AND ALSO LOWER CALCIUM AND VITAMIN D LEVELS?
