pneumonia

1100598 tn?1413127426 Ever since then, I have had chest pain, shortness of breath, fainting spells, weakness, back pain, a worseneing cough, low grade fever, chills, rash on my belly or chest, and nausea. The swollen lymph nodes have also returned. My doctor says I have bronchitis/walking pneumonia and put me on doxycycline on tuesday, but I am not feeling any better. I only have one day of antibiotics left.
Avatar m tn sounds like a bad chest or lung infection.. if you had pneumonia?? you would have high fever also and would be a very sick person.. its very dangerous.. GO to doctors either way for an antibiotic..
Avatar f tn t a category for walking pneumonia or upper respiratory infection , so here it goes anyway. Ok, so Last week on februrary the 2nd I got a sore throat, the next day I had a runny nose and felt like **** for a few days after that and then I developed a cough, I went to the doctor and he said I had upper respiratory infection (bronchitis).. so he gave me a z pac which lasted 5 days, and after day 3 I started feeling better and after the last pill, I felt fine. No cough, no sore throat, nothing.
Avatar f tn I would call your doctors office to confirm anything before you start though cause they will want to know. You could have develeped bronchitis or pneumonia at this point since your immune system is weak during pregnancy, I got walking pneumonia my second trimester just by going for a short walk on a nice day when I was getting over a cold : (. But definately drink lots of orange juice and an extra dose of vitaman c to help beat whatever you have.
Avatar m tn So about a week and a half ago I was diagnosed with bronchitis/ walking pneumonia. He said that it was bronchitis but then he found a specific spot and said it was pneumonia in its beginning stages. He gave me the blue inhaler, azithromycin (I'm allergic to penicillin), and told me to take tylenol four times a day. My symptoms leading up to this were dry cough, wheezing, and coughing fits so violent it set off my gag reflex and it has hard to breath.
Avatar f tn Have you had a virus lately such as the flu or a bad cold? Some times you can get walking pneumonia after that or bronchitis.
Avatar n tn I did new doctor says no more pneumonia maybe bronchitis. Im taking the z.pack. BUt I feel likei still have the pneumonia.I steel feel bad. sweating at night. coughing bad . Help me!!!!
Avatar f tn Or if it is atypical or walking pneumonia due to mycoplasma, that requires a different antibiotic. And if it is not bacterial or viral, you should know! So, follow up with your doctor for further evaluation and information. (and I know this was all over the place and not that helpful, sorry!) Let us know how you are doing!
Avatar f tn WIhat a big pain when you have to get up and do your teaching job. The thing with the lungs is they take a while to recover if irritated like they were when you had bronchitis, you can have productive cough left over for up to two months! So annoying. You can go ahead and take the Z pack but am not really sure why they gave that to you unless they are worried about mycoplasma which is what causes walking pneumonia. I'd continue the Claritin and go ahead with the z pack.
Avatar f tn Hi and sorry you are ill. I have had this too. Usually, it is more common to get "walking pneumonia" or bronchitis after having a viral infection like the flu. I don't think you are reinfecting yourself. Did you have a virus recently? Also, usually walking pneumo is caused by a bacteria , mycoplama or chlamydia pneumonia. Did you get any antibiotics for it the first time? If not perhaps the bacteria was lingering and when you got overtired or ill you got it back.
Avatar m tn Great if someone could shed some light on the above. I have similar concerns. Had a fire in my kitchen in late 2014, with extensive exposure to smoke and soot, but also cement dust during renovation. 4-6 weeks after the fire I got mucus hypersecretion plugging the airways (never had such thick, deep phlegm in my life!). Went to see my GP and she said I *HAD HAD* pneumonia but that it had been conquered.
Avatar f tn My sister had this problem years back and thought she was having a heart attack, she went to the doctor and found she had plursey it the next step to having walking pneumonia.
Avatar n tn like i said if you dont feel better in 2 weeks go back to the doctor.. or if you are coughing up orange bright green or rust coloured mucous or have sharp pains around the bottem of your ribs.. or if you lay down and can not breath then go to the doc asap..
1353681 tn?1387083733 I believe I have an upper respiratory infection.. the one with the drawn out, long, hard cough :( I do feel mucous now, after a week, but also noticed a couple mins of wheezing with it earlier. It has not come in several hours since then, but someone said wheezing is a symptom of pneumonia. I don't have any other symptoms of pneumonia though, like fever, sweats, or chills. Is it possible an upper respiratory infection can have wheezing sometimes too and it is NOT pneumonia?
Avatar n tn Hi there. This past April I had tested negative for HIV. In August (beginning of) I began having some fairly minor respiratory problems, I saw a doctor at the 10-12 day mark and she said it was Bronchitis and gave me an antibiotic which didn't really help. At around the 14-15 day mark I started noticing when I would do something (like walking up stairs, etc...) I got pretty short of breath. This went on for another 2-21/2 weeks.
Avatar f tn Well, my husband had the same symptoms as well, but when he woke up today, it was harder for him to breathe so he went to the hospital and found out he had walking pneumonia but was given nothing to treat it because they said he has to get over it himself. Now I'm worried that it might also be what I have, but they found out by X-ray, and I know I shouldn't get an X-ray while 20 weeks preganant. And even if that was it, would they even treat me for it?
Avatar m tn NO!!! There is chlamydia pneu-something that is present in pneumonia. Then there is chlamydia trachi-something that is what the std is.
Avatar f tn I've had bronchitis and pneumonia and baby is perfect!
1850761 tn?1319366984 Sounds like you may have walking pneumonia/bronchitis? Maybe with asthma along with it. I used to get acute bronchitis all the time and I had all the same issues. However, the one time I had the walking pneumonia, I did not notice feeling as badly, but I had all that congestion. I would definitely see the doctor tomorrow, but in the meantime, Mucinex D is AMAZING to clear out gunk in your lungs. Since the mucus is green (infection) you will need a prescribed antibiotic.
Avatar n tn Every other year for 15 years I would have either pneumonia or bronchitis. I would be given antibiotics for relief. I had always been sensitive to temperature or weather changes. Whenever I sweat, if the sweat dried up on my back, I would easily develop a sore cough or cold. In 2001 a CT scan revealed a 12 mm-nodule. My doctor told me I had nasal drippings; he gave me a nose spray.
Avatar m tn Hi, normally C. pneumoniae is found in respiratory infections and causes bronchitis and walking pneumonia. C. trachomatis is found in genital specimens and causes STD's. I'm trying to find the reason they have both tests in one since they are from different site. I'll get back to you. The only thing I can think of is it came from oral sex and someone had it in their throat and gave it to you? Otherwise, I need to find out what the purpose of having C. pneumo and C.
Avatar f tn I have had bronchitis 3 times, pneumonia once, and a sinus infection once...in the past 3 months. I feel confused alot. My blood test show highly elevated white blood cells. First it was my lymphocytes, then it was my neutraphils, then it was my lymphocytes. Then my WBC dropped to a normal level, but my neutrophils were really low. The doc says she thinks its an autoimmune disease, a blood production disease or cancer.
Avatar n tn I took the patch off about an hour ago but still feel very dizzy, nauseated, and my head is pounding. Is this normal? Please help, I am not sure if tis is due to the pneumonia ad bronchitis or quitting.
Avatar f tn you could easily have acquired a secondary infection such as bronchitis, even pneumonia being as you seem susceptible to getting respiratory infections. You need a thorough examination by your doctor so that he or she can determine the proper treatment/ diagnosis for you. You are doing right by keeping yourself hydrated, taking vitamin C etc...but you may need some antibiotics to help you along. I am a former nurse so please take what I say for face value...
Avatar f tn It sounds like a severe case of bronchitis that you got from getting the pneumonia, obviously just an observation though. Go back to your primary doctor and tell them your symptoms haven't changed, you may need different antibiotics. I had acute bronchitis with a nasty cough for about 5 months and I went to the doctor twice for it and the second time they gave me different antibiotics and it helped. Good luck, hope you feel better!
