vyvanse

19909356 tn?1486416575 However, the paperwork has been filled out and my insurance company has said they will not cover my Vyvanse prescription and to pick up my prescription would cost $300 for a 30 day supply. I still have some leftover caps from past prescriptions so I'm not totally without it (at least for the next few weeks) but I'm wondering if it's normal for an insurance company to stop covering a prescription for seemingly no reason?
Avatar f tn Something that will help sleep patterns get back to normal without a prescription and all the terrible side effects that clonidine will cause is MELATONIN. My son has been taking melatonin for 3 years now and sleeps much much better. I give him 3mg 1 hour before bed and in about 20-30 mins. he goes in and goes to sleep and sleeps all night. He wakes up without that groggy feeling like sleep aids cause. They also make this in 5 mg doses for older children.
Avatar f tn is it safe to take ambien to go to sleep after taking vyvanse...i take vyvanse in the morning when i wake up it is 30 mg. is it okay to take ambien at night to go to sleep?

Avatar m tn If you have ADHD and a prescription - no worries even if it does show up. If you don't ....then this search showed that, "Vyvanse is detectable in urine up to 3 days after ingesting Vyvanse. Vyvanse is detectable in hair samples for months after ingestion. Though Vyvanse itself only stays in your system four hours post-ingestion, the active drug d-amphetamine stays in your system for 40 hours.

990354 tn?1307132886 t have tried it on his own but I figure as long as he actually does have a prescription for both, the vyvanse works late into the afternoon anyways, and the adderall in the afternoon vs in the morning is still taking it as prescribed, as long as he doesn't abuse his max dose . I mean I have SO many extra pills and every now and then I take 40 adderall instead of the vyvanse all together.
Avatar f tn My 20 year old son recently gradually weaned off 60 mg/day Vyvanse so that he can join the Marines (must be off for 1 year - military rules). He is having a very rough time. Extreme fatigue, totally unmotivated, extreme focus issues. He says he feels like a totally different person off totally off the med. Appetite is high too but he knows how to control that. My question is are these symptoms temporary - does it take a while for his body to adjust to being off the med?
Avatar f tn I have a history of pain killer abuse, but have been off of them since January of this year (2013). At that time I was visiting a psychiatrist for the pain med abuse and he put me on Vyvanse for ADHD. I may have mild ADHD, but it is manageable and I really don't need meds for it, but thought it would help with the pain med abuse and just listened to the doc. Since starting the Vyvanse I now realize that it is just as addictive and habit forming as the pain meds for me.
Avatar m tn I was on Adderall for awhile than switched to Dexedrine than finally Vyvanse. While on Vyvanse my pulse rate started reaching near 120 and my psych doc became concerned and decided to stop the amphetamines. I have been off the amphetamines for 4 days as of today. My problem, the tachycardia persists even though I am no longer on the meds. Based off of the half life of Vyvanse it should be out of my system by now. I never abused my meds and I was on the starter dose of 30 mg once per day.
1934417 tn?1323431281 The only thing I am lacking is motivation and memory when it comes to studying for exams. I have taken a few 30 and 40 mg vyvanse pills just several times over the past couple of weeks and have experienced tremendous effects on my studying and concentration abilities. I have recently gotten ahold of a 60 mg pill and am wondering if that dosage is too strong for me since I do not have a disorder and have not been taking vyvanse religiously. If anyone has some sort of input, please reply.
Avatar m tn I'm not sure if this is in the right place, but i need help so i'm going to ask it. i am 18 years old & have been taking vyvanse for about a month now. i slowly increased my dosage and i am up to 30mg currently. i'm starting to realize i am becoming depressed and i'm always in a bad mood, especially for the passed 3 days. friday, i smoked a very large amount of marijuana and took an ecstasy pill.
5757880 tn?1395578022 They are still evaluating him for PDD and also they will be evaluating him for sensory issues. He was originally on Vyvanse, which worked for a time and then it gradually stopped working. Any information on the medication above - I would appreciate it.
Avatar n tn Can Vyvanse permanently damage the brain? I'm 19 and have been taking it for the past four months, even though I don't have ADHD. On average I would take one 50 mg pill 4-5 times a week, but on occassion I would take two in one day (pretty rare). Every couple of weeks, I would take a week or two off from taking them. Recently I've quit, but I'm worried I may have caused some long lasting damage to my brain. Any thoughts?
Avatar m tn I have been on suboxones for about 6 months now before that many years on and off of opiates. I was taking 2 (8mgs) pills a day but I have cut down to a 1/4 of 1 pill in the morning and then another 1/4 in the late afternoon. I've been able to cut down without any major withdrawal symptoms. I want to be completely free of these nasty little pills but I'm so SO scared of the withdrawals that are to come. Can you please help me with some suggestions on what I can do to get through this.
1549092 tn?1297046311 I think you will find the information useful as it compares Vyvanse vs Adderall XR. Do make sure you also click on their ADHD link at the top of the page once you have finished reading. The site is - http://healthlifeandstuff.com/2009/07/vyvanse-vs-adderall-simple-vs-complex. You also might want to check out another very good site for adult ADD. Its has a different approach to the matter as it is all done with videos and was recently featured in a special on PBS.
Avatar n tn I asked a question the other day about my daughter possibly abusing Vyvanse. Now my question is how does a 16 year old (or others of any age) abuse adderall? How exactly do they abuse adderall? How is it done? Im asking because I have high position that my daighter is not only "trying" to abuse her vyvanse but I think she also doing adderall and getting it off the streets (from friends she may know or known drug dealers). I can just see a big difference in her behavior.
Avatar f tn My granddaughter looked at her 40mg Vyvanse pill this am & noticed that the capsule was only 1/2 filled w/ medication. I got her RX filled at Walmart this time instead of Walgreens because her Dad changed jobs & his insurance hasn't gone into effect yet. At first I examined the capsules to see if they had been tampered with. I don't have a clue because I don't know what I'm looking for.

3063045 tn?1340654053 The last thing you want to do is to take more vyvanse if that is the case. Vyvanse is usually only taken once per day as it lasts 8 to 12 hours. Call your doctor immediately and find out what is going on. And double check your dosing directions! With some other types of stim meds these dosing methods would make sense, but not vyvanse.
Avatar n tn My daughter taking vyvanse several months ago. I believe she is abusing the drug. How would she even do that? The pill is a 50mg capsule, now yes it can be opened and it does contain powder inside. But can you really abuse this medication and please explain to me how you would even abuse this medication?
Avatar m tn i have taken vyvanse, and adderall (unprescribed) on a couple of occasions to help me with my school work, but this afternoon i had one of the worst experiences of my life. i had purchased a 70 mg vyvanse pill, took 1/4 of it yesterday and the other 3/4 this morning, so today i was on about 50 mg.
Avatar m tn I had a huge exam yesterday, so starting on Thursday at 11:30 am, I took a 50mg pill to help me study. I took another 50 mg pill at around 7 pm. I was feeling fine, but I couldn't sleep the night before my exam. The morning of my exam on Friday I took another 50 mg before I left. Over a 20 hour period, I took 150 mg vyvanse. I have been having chest pain, shortness of breath, rapid heart rate. I went to the ER today to get it checked out and I didn't tell them about the vyvanse.
Avatar n tn I have had a LOT of stress in my life, since I was ten years old, battled depression, overcame drug addictions as a teenager, was a single mother w/ no money and had an abusive boyfriend. ... I overcame all of those things in the past without PRESCRIPTION DRUGS. It was very hard, but I did it... This time however, I had more ppl to worry about then just myself.. so I got on the PSYCH MEDS, for my husbands and childrens sake...
