My question: Every time I sleep, day (as in nap, occasionally) or night, I have strange dreams I can't put a finger on. I'm often very sad anxious and in some type of bad situation. THEN the real problem. I awake in absolute terror. I am pretty much completely dysfunctional for at least half an hour to two hours. The Vyvanse generally relieves it when it kicks in. It's as if my mind falls apart when off it. I never wake up happy to face the day, excited, etc.
Reduced me back to 40mg Vyvanse in the am and because I said the 100% d-amp (realizing that is in effect what Vyvanse is after it cleaves) was making me too jittery switched me to a new drug - Evekeo. Which is 50% d-amp and 50% l-amp... From what I can research (bad habit on my part) the l-amp is what causes all the side effects people don't like in Adderall? The 50/50 split of D/L amps is, from what I can tell, the exact formulation of Benzedrine - which was removed from the market?
To make a long story short. I haven't taken vyvanse for 3 months but have consistent chest pain which started when taking the drug. my blood pressure did go up when taking the drug so i was put on atenolol. I had since discontinued the drug (about 3 months ago) but the side effects continue . I have 24/7 tight chest.
Anyone with similar experience, recommendations, etc?
I have a history of pain killer abuse, but have been off of them since January of this year (2013). At that time I was visiting a psychiatrist for the pain med abuse and he put me on Vyvanse for ADHD. I may have mild ADHD, but it is manageable and I really don't need meds for it, but thought it would help with the pain med abuse and just listened to the doc. Since starting the Vyvanse I now realize that it is just as addictive and habit forming as the pain meds for me.
I recently had to switch my add meds from adderall xr to vyvanse and I am on day 2 and I feel like I havnt taken anything. I am extremely tired, have anxiety with everything going on around me at once, and I cant concentrate at all, I walked around my kitchen for 15 minutes not knowing why i wass but knew there was a reason then finally got my car keys that i was needing to get in the first place. Is this normal?
I take 1.5 mg Klonopin + 50 mgs of Vyvanse. I have ADD but the Vyvanse is also prescribed for depression as I cannot take absolutely any antidepressant without incredible agitation. That started several years ago.

My son has been on vyvanse for 4 months now, he is having horrible side effects, to the point where you can't reason with him. We need to get him off this terrible drug before it kills him. You can't just stop taking it because, so how do we get him off this drug?
I have been on suboxones for about 6 months now before that many years on and off of opiates. I was taking 2 (8mgs) pills a day but I have cut down to a 1/4 of 1 pill in the morning and then another 1/4 in the late afternoon. I've been able to cut down without any major withdrawal symptoms. I want to be completely free of these nasty little pills but I'm so SO scared of the withdrawals that are to come. Can you please help me with some suggestions on what I can do to get through this.
They drug you up with xanax and clonidine and other things after which makes it worse in my opinion. They also gave me vyvanse and told me i was adhd, which i am not. The vyvanse was basically like giving cocaine to an addict and they just sent me on my way. I was still in active withdrawal which i didnt realize and i relapse quite quickly. I am sure there are many people that stayed sober, but i just wanted to share my experience with you.
Last June I had a breakdown and I was out of state a a physician I went to put me on seroquel, lexapro, and vyvanse....along with my klonopin. This seemed to be working, then he added Adderall and I was amazed at this. I felt "normal" for the first time in 30 years. I could think straight, and as time has gone by the depression has gone. How can I be having withdrawal now when I ever did before? Is it piggybacking off the withdrawal I felt from the ADD drugs? How can I feel better? I feel like my arms and legs are being slightly electrocuted constantly. Not enough to hurt right away but after that dull pain for hours and hours, I'm losing my mind.
My son has been takiing this med Vyvanse for adhd, so I decided to take it to see if it would help me with my depression and anxiety, and it worked great, I didn't have any side effect to it. This is why I ask if its okay to take Vyvanse for my anxiety, right now I'm taking celexa but its not doing nothing for me anymore. I've been taking Celexa for the past 3 yrs and I think its time for me to change my meds.
im on the highest dosage of vyvanse and its supposed to last longer than addorall but it seems to be working less and less...is that possible?? im sick of insurance not paying for this medication yet not getting any other substantial benifit from vyvanse, anyone else experience a increased tolerence to any add meds?
my step son is supposed to take vyvanse and clonidine, but he has been out of vyvance for 3weeks now and seems fine taking only clonidine.
The problem is that my doc prescribed me 60 30mg capsules so im trying to figure out how many 30 mg capsules is 70 mg vyvanse which i know that a 30mg vyvanse is 10mg adderall and 70 mg vyvanse is 30mg adderall.Is 7 30mg vyvanse capsules 70mg dose .I switched from taking 30mg adderall twice a day im going to have to call doc tommorroww.Any help in figuring this out .Thank you Im trying to get 70 mg vyvanse out of these 30mg capsules 1 70 mg or 1 60 is the right dose for me.
If you have ADHD and a prescription - no worries even if it does show up. If you don't ....then this search showed that, "Vyvanse is detectable in urine up to 3 days after ingesting Vyvanse. Vyvanse is detectable in hair samples for months after ingestion. Though Vyvanse itself only stays in your system four hours post-ingestion, the active drug d-amphetamine stays in your system for 40 hours.
First, why didn't your doctor put you back on vyvanse if withdrawal was the problem and taper you off slowly and save you all this pain? I had a shrink do the same to me with Paxil, and I've never recovered. Alas, too late for that now. Don't let them take you off cold turkey again, and don't let them stop the taper until you're safely avoiding a protracted withdrawal.
Just a couple of months ago I was diagnosed ADHD, and Vyvanse was prescribed, along with clonidin. I have to really watch my blood pressure now, because if I miss taking the atenenol, my blood pressure will shoot up over 160 really quick.
Is there any solution for people with 2 conditions like this where the medication for one condition diametrically opposes
the medication for the second condition ?
Would some other blood pressure medication work better than a beta blocker ?
My daughter taking vyvanse several months ago. I believe she is abusing the drug. How would she even do that? The pill is a 50mg capsule, now yes it can be opened and it does contain powder inside. But can you really abuse this medication and please explain to me how you would even abuse this medication?
My son who is 9 yrs old has started Vyvanse since January of this year. He is currently on about 25 mg of Vyvanse. The only thing that I don't like about it is that it takes a long time to kick in, like about 2.5 hours for my son. So often in the morning he will seem unfocused so will not do well during early 8am test. His doctor and I discussed trying Ritalin first in the morning and then adding Vyvanse, which is the reverse of what many people do.
Thank you for your support. I live with my boyfriend and our daughter and he works pretty much every day plus he has No idea. I was doing this behind his back. I'm scared he will break up with me so telling him is not a choice.my arms feel LIke jelly and he expects Me to cook and clean cus I'm a stay at home mom and it's so hard to do anything. I actually have add and haven't been taking my meds cus I want to wait till this withdrawal is completely over with.
