I recently had to switch my add meds from adderall xr to vyvanse and I am on day 2 and I feel like I havnt taken anything. I am extremely tired, have anxiety with everything going on around me at once, and I cant concentrate at all, I walked around my kitchen for 15 minutes not knowing why i wass but knew there was a reason then finally got my car keys that i was needing to get in the first place. Is this normal?
Also the Dose of V should be 30mg compared to 10mgs of adderall XR to be somewhat equal.
I have a real sensitive stomach and immune system, and am allergic to a lot so I would think that you can handle most of these. The best working were the Daytrana, Adderall XR, and Vyvanse, and the Adderall you are taking may be different than what I take(XR) The other Adderall hurt my stomach and made me sick if I didn't eat, but I have no problem with the XR.
No easy answer here. First I assume you mean Adderall XR? Let me know if you don't because the next sentence is about XR. Most Charts list 50mgs as the maximum dose. And weight really has less to do with the dosage then one would think.

Concerta, 30mg Adderall IR, and 30mg Adderall XR. Concerta gave me migraines. Adderall XR completely sucked. Adderall IR was the best medication that I found until Vyvanse. Now I think Adderall is horrible in comparison.
I've been taking 30mg of Vyvanse for a few months now. This has been my adjusted dose from trying 20mg, 30mg, and 50mg. 50mg was wayy too much at the time. 30mg was perfect until about a month ago. It lasted about 12 hours, a huge improvement over 4 hours of Adderall IR.
I have been on Vyvanse for a while now. And was worried when they doctor said it was very similar to Adderall XR. But he promised me that the issues I was having with feeling ill, insomnia, and no appitite would lessen on Vyvanse. And that the nasty, gross stimulant feeling I got from Adderall would go away.
And he was right about everything and then some. And believe me if there is a side effect to have I will have it.
I am currently taking 225 mg of wellbutrin and 90 mg of Adderall xr. I have built tolerance I believe to the Adderall and it stopped working at that dose. I have tried several psychiatrists to help me address this issue to no avail. I have tried other medications for add but this one is the one that my body adjusts to better. Unfortunately, as you know this dose is high , and I haven't had any luck getting a doctor who could increase a bit or give me another solution.
My doc prescribed me 70mg Vyvanse, to compare with my Adderall dose previously prescribed. When feeling the effects of Vyvanse it is truly a saving grace and I really feel "limitless". I think clear, I don't feel over stimulated or the out of body experience like other ADHD drugs. I'm in an industry that I must utilize critical problem solving skills, think extremely creative and relay high end technical knowledge to CIO's and executives on a daily basis.
I received a letter in the mail b/c I take Adderall XR, which is made by the same Pharm Co as Vyvanse, Shire Pharmecueticals. It was just a notice saying that Vyvanse has been approved for adult use. I see my psychiatrist in a little over a week for a prescription refill and I am going to ask if he'll switch me. He knows that Vyvanse is the one that worked best for me. The great thing for me since I am not working, Shire also has a pt. assistance program.
I am a 48 yr old female diagnosed with recurring severe depression. When I am not taking my meds, I am tired, can sleep all day, am completely unmotivated to do anything and do not want to socialize with anyone. I have tried several different meds and am currently taking Celexa and Adderall XR. My psy says that adding the Adderall will "kick in the Celexa" and make it work better. I have a love/hate realationship with the Adderall.

I have a similar complaint...
My most effective dose for vyvanse is 50mg, however it only lasts 7 hrs. When I began with a 30mg dose it lasted the same amount of time, but i could tell when the medication would come and go. Therefore, my concentration and focus came in 2 waves. With 50mg my concentration and focus was stable for the whole 7hours.
The problem is that my doc prescribed me 60 30mg capsules so im trying to figure out how many 30 mg capsules is 70 mg vyvanse which i know that a 30mg vyvanse is 10mg adderall and 70 mg vyvanse is 30mg adderall.Is 7 30mg vyvanse capsules 70mg dose .I switched from taking 30mg adderall twice a day im going to have to call doc tommorroww.Any help in figuring this out .Thank you Im trying to get 70 mg vyvanse out of these 30mg capsules 1 70 mg or 1 60 is the right dose for me.

I find vyvanse and/or Ritalin to be helpful in terms of making me alert and functional which of course has the secondary benefit of improving my executive function issues.
The general choices will be to hole up somewhere for a couple weeks and get your brain back to normal (it will come back but it takes several weeks), vs a taper of a long-acting stimulant,l like vyvanse. You may, of course, have a deeper addiction than you realize, with psychological cravings too great for you to overcome. If that is the case, residential treatment is often indicated

Well 3 failed college attempts and 5 car accidents later, I decided to see a pshycologist for a few appointments and tests and he diagnosed me with ADHD and wanted to prescribe me a stimulant and chose adderall. I tried 10mg IR and 20mg IR, with great success and only mild side effects but they did not last very long maybe 5 hours max, and I have 13-16 hour work days.
im on the highest dosage of vyvanse and its supposed to last longer than addorall but it seems to be working less and less...is that possible?? im sick of insurance not paying for this medication yet not getting any other substantial benifit from vyvanse, anyone else experience a increased tolerence to any add meds?
But a change in medication might be also helpful. Adderall XR is good for 8 to 10 hours. If it is not lasting that long, then you are underdosed. But, Vyvanse is good for 10 to 12+ hours. It basically is the same med as Adderall, but in a different format.
Yes, you definitely need to talk with your doc. With your doc you need to be more specific about when you need to focus. Let the doc know when your lack of concentration is hitting. Also experiment a bit.

I have been on Vyvanse for a legit condition for 7 years and have only recently had to have a small mg tablet add-on of adderall XR to take at the end of the day if my Vyvanse feels like its wearing off. You are asking for serious health problems if you continue taking that medicine irresponsibly. Not to be mean, but given the shear seriousness of your post, where is your common sense?? Get to a doctor now before it is to late!
