On the drug test aspect, Vyvanse is out of your system exponentially faster than Adderall. The half life of V is 47 minutes compared to a half life of 9-14 hours for Adderall. Example for those unaware how half-lifes of drugs work.

Since your doc apparently needs some continuing ed on the topic. Let them k ow there is a SPECIFIC test you can order to actually detect the correct medication. Its called a "Ritalin (Methylphenidate) Urine Drug Test" (imagine that.) And again, this test is NOT part of the standard urinalysis (drug screen).
I used to help me study ) at approx 11pm on 5/2/14 and I have a drug test on 5/6/14 (I am leaving to basic training) I need to know if it will test positive on a drug test as an amphetamine and if it will be out of my system by then (I am a female 5'1/134lbs age 19) I normally drink a lot of water and urinate frequently. Hello Lass,First off is this just routine,or is their some reason of diversion like due you work as a nurse ,and if so,are they checking only you or are you on a Methadone program and all they want to know is there any hydrocodone in yopur system to bebin with,as same not so bright addicts say that they are on this and that and when they run a urine screen,nothing shows up,even the drug that they say is their drug of choice.
It seems I'm out of luck then; Vyvanse is probably the mildest ADHD (stimulant) drug used; I'm told that Adderall is quite a bit harder on the cardiovascular system. I've tried Straterra, a non-amphetamine drug, but it didn't work.
My blood pressure was 121/76 this morning before taking anything, and that's an average of taking it 4 times over a 30 min time period.
I know he is not abusing the Vyvanse, but can the Vyvanse be increasing his want of the alcohol and the coke? The warnings for the drug say do not take this medicine if you have addiction issues. Is this because it could put you back into the addiction cycle with any drug, or because there is fear of abusing the vyvanse, or both? He doesn't seem to wind down at night and is sleeping only 5 or less hours a night. I am confused here and don't know what to do.
Also of note - not all urine drug screens test for the same thing - this is usually determined by the cost factor - The more sensitive and comprehensiv ethe test, the more expensive. Darvocet tests positive if they are testing for propoxyphene - not all tests do this. I think I read somewhere that it can potentially test positive for methadone - I would have to look that up again to be sure.

My son has been takiing this med Vyvanse for adhd, so I decided to take it to see if it would help me with my depression and anxiety, and it worked great, I didn't have any side effect to it. This is why I ask if its okay to take Vyvanse for my anxiety, right now I'm taking celexa but its not doing nothing for me anymore. I've been taking Celexa for the past 3 yrs and I think its time for me to change my meds.

t taken vyvanse for 3 months but have consistent chest pain which started when taking the drug. my blood pressure did go up when taking the drug so i was put on atenolol. I had since discontinued the drug (about 3 months ago) but the side effects continue . I have 24/7 tight chest.

How did your son do on the Vyvanse? Did it help him focus? Was he better behaved and more accepted by his peers? Have his grades plummeted after coming off? If this is the case then coming off the drug has had a big impact on his life and it could cause depression. Any type of stimulant can cause you to be more confident and promote a general feeling of well-being. When you take that away there can be some rebound depression. I would definitely seek counseling for him.
he refered me to a psych. my psych told me that vyvanse would help my add and my depression. he started me on 30mg and had to move me up to 50mg after 2 weeks because it was wearing off half way through the day and i would get extremely tired. when i first started taking the drug i noticed that i was more clear headed and driven through the day. at the same time i noticed that my appetite had decressed,my throat stayed dry and i was having trouble falling asleep.
You need to request them to have 6-MAM and or gas chromatography–mass spectrometry test. If this is confusing, Im sorry. I drug test people every week where I work so I'm informed on all this stuff. False positives do happen so you need to be informed on what to do. You can always print this and show your MD. If one of the opiates you are on is Codeine, then you may have your culprit.
