Vyvanse recommended dosage

Common Questions and Answers about Vyvanse recommended dosage

vyvanse

Avatar m tn Sometimes I take dextroamph without vyvanse, sometimes I take one dex with vyvanse. What I am doing basically is experimenting the best dosage and combination. But I did not overdose. I measured my blood pressure just a moiment ago and it was 128/85 pulses: 91) Also: my doctor changed my Wellbutrin dosage from 100 SR once a day to 100 SR twice a day.
Avatar f tn My 10 year old son, who is ADHD, was taking 30 mg of Vyvanse and it worked fine for like a month and half. The doctor increased his dosage to 40 mg and it was working great, but again the effects seemed to have diminished in two months. The doctor recommended to keep him in the 40 mg of Vyvanse, which he takes in the morning, and in the evening give him 1 mg of Intuniv. Do you know if that will help with his concentration at school?
Avatar f tn im on the highest dosage of vyvanse and its supposed to last longer than addorall but it seems to be working less and less...is that possible?? im sick of insurance not paying for this medication yet not getting any other substantial benifit from vyvanse, anyone else experience a increased tolerence to any add meds?
Avatar m tn //www.corepsych.com/2013/12/vyvanse-dosage-strategies-for-adhd-medication-accuracy/#comment-10260 And here is a link about V and over dosing - http://www.corepsych.com/2009/09/vyvanse-adjustments-start-by-looking-for-the-exact-window/ Hope this helps. Please let me know what happens.
Avatar n tn The problem is that my doc prescribed me 60 30mg capsules so im trying to figure out how many 30 mg capsules is 70 mg vyvanse which i know that a 30mg vyvanse is 10mg adderall and 70 mg vyvanse is 30mg adderall. Is 7 30mg vyvanse capsules 70mg dose .I switched from taking 30mg adderall twice a day im going to have to call doc tommorroww.Any help in figuring this out .Thank you Im trying to get 70 mg vyvanse out of these 30mg capsules 1 70 mg or 1 60 is the right dose for me.
3063045 tn?1340654053 I would look at the label on the bottle and see if that is the dosage the doc prescribed. You might even ask your pharmacist what the normal recommended dose is (these guys are usually more in the know then the docs), and if he says something different have him call the docs office to make sure a mistake was not made. The pharmacist can usually get right through. And clonazepam or Klonopin can cause tiredness as a side effect. How long have you been on Klonopin?
5757880 tn?1395578022 //addadhdblog.com/vyvanse-dosage-how-to-get-the-right-dose/?doing_wp_cron=1392270407.4202480316162109375000#c987e as the math works out to 12mgs at a time. But of course the pill doesn't come that way. You might ask what she thinks about starting him out at 10mgs? Hope this helps. Let me know how the prescription card works from the Indiana site.
Avatar f tn Adderall 10 mg = Vyvanse 30 mg, Adderall 20 mg = Vyvanse 50 mg, Adderall 30 mg = Vyvanse 70 mg. I always start lower than expected with a change to Vyvanse, as for about 10-15% that anticipated dose of Vyvanse proves too much. I don’t want folks on my watch to experience 10% problems." I would also check the comments in the above link and some of them might apply to you. the link is - http://www.corepsych.
990354 tn?1307132886 Hey I am worried about my sister! She is on Vyvanse right now at thiry mgs but does NOT take it daily. Her husband takes twenty mgs of Adderall daily, and sometimes she will take an adderall instead of a vyvanse. Is this safe?? I don't think she is taking them at the same time but, is it safe for her to take an adderall on occasion? She claims the adderall gives her more energy than the vyvanse so she takes it when she has a night that she is working late and so on.
Avatar f tn My question is about my current dosage of Adderall. But first, I'd like to share my background with those of you reading this. Bear with me, this post is very long. I was finishing the last months of undergrad I found myself extremely depressed. It came to the point where I could not wake up in the morning without crying. I was thinking of committing suicide nearly every single day. I couldn't put my finger on what was causing the depression.
Avatar n tn //www.corepsych.com/2009/06/vyvanse-dosage-for-adhd-finding-the-safe-top-of-the-window/ and check out the blogs he mentions. There is also a good chance that when you tried the adderall, you took too much. With all the these meds, you need to start slowly and let your body get used to them. Same thing might be true for the V. At any rate, do talk with your doc after reading up some more on V. This also might help - http://www.addadhdblog.
Avatar f tn I have taken Zoloft on and off for some time with no major issues, but my anxiety would increase whenever I started, stopped, or adjusted dosage. Are you on Vyvanse for ADD? I think it is a stimulant and they can defiinitely raise your anxiety in my opinion. I have been on a different one with success, but have you been throwing up before you took the medication?
Avatar n tn So now I toyed around myself with different milligram dosage amounts of my Vyvanse, and at the amount I was able to actually notice it becoming effective, I would be embarrassed and afraid to explain to my psychiatrist what I've done, just trying to stay awake. and now for the past week of doing this before discovering an amount that would work I have almost depleted 60 total Vyvanse capsules prescribed in a 30-day prescription in 11 days.
1218509 tn?1267490923 I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was 9 years old. Currently I am on Adderall, because Vyvanse was too expensive when I didn't have insurance. I took 60 mg of Vyvanse for three to four months, back in mid-2009; it was absolutely amazing. It was very smooth, it lasted around the 12-14 hours my Psychiatrist said it would, and I did not give me any side effects. I would highly recommend Vyvanse to anyone who needs a ADHD/ADD medication.
Avatar f tn spending money you needed for other truly important things to supplement your dosage; 3. exceeding the prescribed dosage because you felt like you "had" to have some feeling or instant gratification you got from the med; 4. exceeding the prescribed dosage because you felt icky or lousy or uncomfortable in some way when the med was wearing off, or once it had completely worn off; 5. used other drugs along with the Adderall because the combination felt good; 6.
1396846 tn?1332459510 He did up my gabapentin, gave me vyvanse for the fatigue, also gave me baclofen (spelling) for the spasms. Hoping the meds get me through this week. He also said that if I start getting worse then to call him right away because there is no sense in suffering if there is something that may ease it. Since taking the extra gabapentin, and the vyvanse I feel a little alive lol.
Avatar m tn I'm not sure if this is in the right place, but i need help so i'm going to ask it. i am 18 years old & have been taking vyvanse for about a month now. i slowly increased my dosage and i am up to 30mg currently. i'm starting to realize i am becoming depressed and i'm always in a bad mood, especially for the passed 3 days. friday, i smoked a very large amount of marijuana and took an ecstasy pill.

Avatar n tn That is a lot of drugs to give to someone who is a kid. Also, 100 mg of Vyvanse is a high dosage for a kid. Has your mom tried to reduce the number of medicines. Maybe try Vyvanse only in a small dosage to begin with. I also agree with DFW670 that your nephew needs to be correctly diagnosed by a specialist in children's mental health. Do not give him any medication without a proper diagnosis from a respected specialist.
Avatar m tn I am taking Vyvanse and Prozac, and I'm having trouble getting myself to eat. I am still in a healthy weight range, so I'm not worried about that. But I've been weak, fatigued, and dizzy at times because I'm not eating enough. Are there any protein shakes I should try, or something like that, so I can be getting the nutrients I need? I hate most protein shakes because I can't stand the texture, and they're usually gross. But I have to do something.
Avatar f tn My 20 year old son recently gradually weaned off 60 mg/day Vyvanse so that he can join the Marines (must be off for 1 year - military rules). He is having a very rough time. Extreme fatigue, totally unmotivated, extreme focus issues. He says he feels like a totally different person off totally off the med. Appetite is high too but he knows how to control that. My question is are these symptoms temporary - does it take a while for his body to adjust to being off the med?
Avatar f tn After that, I was unable to handle the stress of the medication. My psychiatrist then recommended trying 40mg or vyvanse with .02mg of intuniv at night and .02mg in the morning. I had a very bad experience with intuniv. Then we tried 40 mg vyvanse with .02mg of kapvey (another form of clonidine), I have been on this combination for about six months, which have been about the best, most productive, and calm six months i've had since being diagnosed.
Avatar m tn Diagnosed with adhd and prescribed Vyvanse ~2 months ago, gradually increased dose from 30mg to 60mg. 60mg worked well for about 1.5 weeks and now I don't feel like it does anything. I know that the upper dosing limit is recommended to be 70mg, but with how ineffective 60mg feels, I worry even the upper limit won't help. Why have I built up a tolerance so fast? What other medications should I ask my MD about that may offer me better symptom relief?
Avatar f tn My son currently takes vyvanse for his adhd wich seems to be helping him alot in school, but he has been taking geodon and clonidine for about 6 weeks or so and he has become alot more aggressive once he vyvanse weres off he is totally out of control phyc says leave him on it since he gets good sleep but everything i a constant fight and he tears everything up wich he did prior to the meds but he just seems worse could he be taking the wrong mix of medicines or does it just take more time worried
Avatar n tn //www.addadhdblog.com/vyvanse-dosage-how-to-get-the-right-dose/#c987e Not sure what you are looking for in terms of improvement. Have you talked to her teachers? The med could be wearing off by the time she gets home. The fact that the stimulant meds are not causing her to climb the walls would indicate (I think) that they are partially working. Do work on her diet. There is a lot that you can do food wise to combat the weight loss. This is a good site for info on ADD.
