vyvanse

1575110 tn?1334664635 What is the most effective drug Concerta or Vyvanse or any other suggestions? I have heard of daytrana as well, but I'm an adult. I'm slowly getting everything back together.
Avatar f tn I am very healthy except for this disorder, but was seeing a doctor for medication, Strattera when I went on medicaid. Does medicaid cover Stratterra, Vyvanse or Concerta and other ADHD or ADD medications?
5757880 tn?1395578022 We probably won't go back to Vyvanse - he became a bit more aggressive and over-emotional when he was on it in the end. That is when they switched him to Concerta. The doctor said she was going to move him to Plain Methylphenidate (20mg / Twice a Day) but it will be for (3) times a day at 15mg. She is hoping since it's similar to Concerta it will work for him. They also mentioned taking the script to Wal-Mart and I wouldn't have to pay alot for it. Do you know if that's true?
Avatar f tn Im a 19 years old boy and i have tried vyvanse which did miracles at first at 20mg until the effect decreased and had to go up to 60mg with no effects except the bad ones and went back to my old self(lazy, tired, unmotivated etc.). I am now on concerta 36mg and it seems like working but not all the time and clearly not as much as first time vyvanse.
Avatar m tn Like I mentioned earlier I am on my almost 3rd week of taking concerta and i hate it. I still don’t know if I am adhd but I am having the same problems as I did with the vyvanse. Severe headache and pain in between my shoulder blades. I have had a full cardio workout and I am 44 in good health and have no other problems than Hashimotos which I am not yet taking meds for when this is all over. Can someone please help??
Avatar m tn It seems when I take Adderral or Vyvanse the cravings increase! If anyone has any thoughts let me know, thank you.
Avatar f tn 12 to 14 hours for Vyvanse and 8 to 10 for Concerta. Thats very close to all day coverage and not necessary. Second, they are of two different chemical classes. Concerta is a methylphenidate based medicine, while Vyvanse is an amphetamine based med. Usually you go to an amphetamine based because your methylphenidate is not working for you. The only possible reason I can think of to take both would be to turn off your mind at night so you could go to sleep and stay asleep.
Avatar f tn Well, it was not the Lithium that caused the twitching, as I had a Lithium level drawn after stopping it and the Vyvanse, and my level was a little bit low, indicating that it had probably been at normal levels just a day or two before. Now I have a script for Concerta to replace the Vyvanse, I am just waiting on insurance's prior authorization. I am still on the Prozac and am back on Abilify. The twitching slowly subsided, as did the eye pain, nausea, and dizziness.
Avatar m tn My doc prescribed me 70mg Vyvanse, to compare with my Adderall dose previously prescribed. When feeling the effects of Vyvanse it is truly a saving grace and I really feel "limitless". I think clear, I don't feel over stimulated or the out of body experience like other ADHD drugs. I'm in an industry that I must utilize critical problem solving skills, think extremely creative and relay high end technical knowledge to CIO's and executives on a daily basis.
14987738 tn?1437742035 In September of last year I was admitted for my depression, I was diagnosed with major depression disorder, anxiety, schizophrenia, and ADD, I was put on Vyvanse 30 mg, Zoloft 50mg later upped to 100, Abilify 5mg, I was doing good when I got out, vyvanse has helped my concentration steady, I stopped Zoloft and Abilify months ago because they were no help but my vyvanse has been causing troubles, I feel more depressed, and depression runs on both sides of the family, I rarely sleep, I sometimes g
Avatar f tn t mind me asking why is it that you would need both Concerta and Adderall rather than just taking Adderall alone or looking into Ritalin? Your doc is right that together those drugs are very addictive and even though you aren't looking to abuse the drugs it does not matter a prolonged use of them causes an addictive dependency. It's important to realize that it may take time and trial and error in order to find the right drug to treat your ADD.
Avatar f tn Strattera, Adderall XR, Vyvanse, and Daytrana are medications I have taken, my brother takes Concerta. Vyvanse and Adderall XR are the only meds I can take. I have a real sensitive stomach and immune system, and am allergic to a lot so I would think that you can handle most of these.
Avatar m tn Vyvanse is just another amphetamine. All speed, or speed-like products, will produce the symptoms you had, if taken in overdose. If you have that reaction with a normal dose, then you probably do not have ADD.
Avatar f tn I can see being on V and perhaps adderall in the late after noon. Or concerta and ritalin in the late afternoon. Since the Concerta/ritalin are the same type of meds. Same thing for Vyvannse and Adderall. Point being, why was the V not working for you? What symptoms did you have. I would think that the two could have been over dosing you. Did you ever try just V alone?
Avatar f tn Phenteramine does make you anxious,,, more so than the adderall or Concerta. I also take a low dose of Topamax to help with the weightloss. remember, my Concerta is controlled release so that may make a difference in how it reacts with the Phenterimine.
Avatar f tn I have child that was also on Concerta 36. There are two types of this medication. Concerta and Concerta CR which is controller release, I believe it was called. However, I found that concerta is not a very effective drug for dealing with ADHD. You might want to have the school give her the second dose at 1pm at school, this way it will avoid the medicine lapsing while she is at school.
Avatar f tn After that, I was unable to handle the stress of the medication. My psychiatrist then recommended trying 40mg or vyvanse with .02mg of intuniv at night and .02mg in the morning. I had a very bad experience with intuniv. Then we tried 40 mg vyvanse with .02mg of kapvey (another form of clonidine), I have been on this combination for about six months, which have been about the best, most productive, and calm six months i've had since being diagnosed.
Avatar f tn What other med’s have other parents found help with this type of ADD e.g. is Vyvanse better or Addrell, Strattra etc etc, as the concerta doesn't help her anxiety. I don't feel like yet she is on the best mediation for her needs. Any advice help would be great.
Avatar n tn alright sooo lets take it from me.. Im 19, and have been on adderal, vyvanse and concerta... done them all since i was 12! my little brother started on adderal when he was... 7?? or 8.. BUT! let me tell you this... adderal, for a child i belive should be on very low dosages! and trust me this is because if not, he will NOT get to bed at night...
Avatar f tn Hi My 12 year old son was switched to Vyanse. He's been on it for about 6 months. His dose was upped to 40mg. This seemed to work for a while. He got sick with flu and misse about 8 days of school. During this time he had to take antibiotics. I stopped the Vyanse abruptly so he didn't have to take it at the same time as antibiotics. By the end of the week, when his flu was better, antibiotics finished, I gave him his 40mg dose. His mood had changed by end of week also.
Avatar f tn We started on concerta but he was loosing weight on those but he also had a rotovirus right after he was put on them. Then we went to straterra (non stimulant) but we didnt see much of a difference then went on to adderall. Recently I have been wanting to take him off the meds if possible... we tried it, tapered him down off of them over a 3 wk period but it doesnt seem to be time for him. If I ever doubted whether he really needed them I now know that he does.
Avatar f tn I ended up putting him on Vyvanse 30mg extremely low dose and he has been doing fine. He has been taking Vyvanse for 1 year. I took concerta and ended up going off due to severe headaches. Also, just something that you may want to read is a book called The IQ Answer- Maximizing your child's potential (Family centered action plans to help children struggling with: ADD, Learning disabilities and low academic performance) by Dr.
Avatar n tn he clears his throat every 6-7 seconds!!!!! When I talked to Dr about it, my wise doctor told me: "He is not doing it while he is sleeping, so IT IS all in his head. ALL of the ADHD medication is going to do the same thing to him. All you can do is keep on talking to him." So this is what happened to us: (I mean, this was going on for a whole year! COuld you imagine?!!!) He really wanted this BMX bike, that was costing a small fortune.
Avatar f tn Well, see when I switched from Concerta to Adderall, I just stopped the Concerta and went to taking the Adderall XR. After a few months the XR did not seem to work very long or throughout the day. So, in 2007, I went on Adderall short acting pill form which generic form is amphetamine salts or amphetamine mix tabs. With this pill, first of all, it is extremely inexpensive. I pay $30 for 180 tabs 20 mg each. I cut each in half and take each half 4 times a day a total of 40mg.
