His pediatrician feels pretty certain he also has ADD and wants to put him on Vyvanse and see how he reacts to that. I am just sick. I have such strong feelings against medicating children and here I am about to do this to him. In doing my online research I came across something called absence seizures. Does anyone know if hypothyroidism and this can be related and what are the chances he has both thyroid disease and ADD. He himself crys to me all the time that he can't remember things.
Maybe you can ask your doctor to give you a one week prescription for Adderall or Vyvanse to see if it has a benefit to you. They work right away, not like antidepressants which have to build up in your blood stream. Hope this helps.
This summer has been horrible I have had one bad thing happen after another my engine went in my favorite vehicle I had a really nice GMC suburban I then had to take every penny and put it into another vehicle, my daughter went from bad to worse she is diagnosed add, ocd, bi-polar disorder and she is 14 last week I took my other 2 girls on vacation to ceadr pointe keeping my word and not taking my 14 yr old because of her constant disrespect and lying, stealing the doctor says she is exhibitibg
I've taken both Stratera and Vyvanse in the past, and several anti depressants, etc. I don't think I realized my symptoms were caused by ADHD. Because I have childhood documentation, I may be able to get on a controlled substance. Doctors hesitate to put people on controlled substances for obvious reasons. I'm not worried about it, in spite of the addiction I just kicked. I think if you're medicating the real issue then it's fine. I'm not a lifelong abuser. It kinda happened by accident.
he is also an insomniac, has chronic migraines, chronic pain, and is on 10 medications. Needless to say, we have no life anymore. His present Respiratory Specialist ordered a sleep study, and from that determined that he should be on Bipap with 11/8 pressures. We told this doctor (after three months on Bipap at this setting) that he is still falling asleep during the day and has had no relief with the Bipap.
I am glad that I feel 100% with no drugs.......except Vyvanse because it makes me normal and I have problem with dopamine because my elementary school made me physically dependent on stimulants because I was hyperactive as a kid and emotionally unstable from switching schools. Basically the school made me take Adderall and that made me A LOT more hyper and bad behaving and the stupid teachers thought that more medication would make me better.
They have since discharged him since his coverage has changed he has state medical thru foster care private care is impossible no one will see him due to medical coupon. I have offered to pay cash they won't accept because he has insurance that's useless. If you have some ideas for discipline I would be so grateful. He mostly has stolen food from home over and over again for no reason .
it's immaterial whether you heard of them before or not, the important thing is to follow your pdoc prescription. You don't gain much about knowing the list. some make you zombie, with others you put on weight, some tremors etc...you won't find the magic pill. However for your knowledge they are classified into 5 categories: 1. tranquilizers: benzo and the like 2. antidepressants (AD) 3. antipsychotics (AP) 4. anticonvulsants (AC) 5.
I seem to think the doc is faxing the pre-auth info to the wrong place. At this point I have no idea where the info went to. I will discuss this with him on Friday. ARGHHH...wish I had a real job with normal insurance ... not this Medicaid crap.
I've had an adderall prescription for about five years now. I continue to use it when I feel that I really need it (i.e., can't possibly finish a paper without it), but otherwise try to stay away from it due to my past experiences with it. My feeling is that it's a nasty, nasty drug. It's very easy to build a tolerance to it - after not too long the low doses don't work anymore. I was taking 45 mgs up to 4 times a day...
I used our move as a clean slate, no connects, no doctors for hook up, etc. I'll gladly tell you what got me through it, it may or not work for you.. but I know right now your willing to try anything & everything. Mindset was a huge one for me, Go in knowing just how bad this is going to suck, but also remind yourself daily, even hourly that you CAN get through this..
You know this is out of control and it's time. No judgement, a lot of us have been where you are now. There is no way for anyone here to determine what they are going to do on Sunday/Monday. Good luck to you.
Taking a prescription for the acid reflux. No colonoscopy since I haven't had much change in my bowel movements. I also had an AB CT after a weekend of back and abdomen pain a couple of months ago. Negative results other than a couple of small kidney cysts. My abdomen pain has subsided for the most part today, but I have some numbness and tingling going on with my right side. Since everything has checked out okay so far, I'm going to have to assume a CNS effect with my nerves.
8 cm. There is a mildly heterogeneous appearance the right thyroid lobe. There is no evidence of a focal nodule. Color flow is unremarkable. The thyroid isthmus measures 4 mm in width previously measuring 3mm in width. The left thyroid lobe measures 5.5 cm in length by 1.8 x 2.0 cm previously measuring 5.0 x 1.2 x 1.6 cm. There is a iso to slightly hyperechoic nodule in the midpole with mild peripheral vascularity measuring 1.6 x 1.5 x 1.3 cm which is new from the prior examination. ...
I was so incredibly stressed that I could NOT sleep due to the hurricane of terrible worry in my head. I got a prescription for Ambien and it DID work - for three days. Then the best I could hope for was maybe 3 or 4 hours of sleep a night even WITH Ambien. If I took Benedryl (the ingredient in most over-the-counter non-prescription sleep aids) along with the Ambien, I would be unconscious for maybe 7 or 8 hours - but that wasn't quality sleep.
When you say that you bought them on line, that is a worry. Without a doctor's prescription for some "real" Savella, you will have no idea what your wife is actually taking. It also sounds a bit strange the complete difference in your wife's personality. I too suffer from Fibromyalgia, a stroke, 24/7 migraines and on and on, without the kind of changes that you describe in your wife. Again, who knows what is in the medication that you are giving her.
I am sorry for your Dx. I am a female but also now hypo.Since the beginning of my illness everything I read regarding the disease, when I stumbled across the stats of men getting it, I read through it. Dx is rare. specially on sub clinical Hypo or Hyper thyroidism in men. I believe this b/c men are less likely to see a doctor when they have symptoms. and if they do go and get Dx'd - most do not have the patience and stay on top of it.
I can foresee bad days when she awakens with a tummyache and can't have a B.M. I admit that she, too is so accustomed to wet pullups that she has no motivation to change out of them. She also sleeps so hard that she wets almost nightly. Pediatrician has me wake her up a little bit before I go to bed so as to send her potty and to pull her back from this deep sleep. I wish you the best as I know how humiliating it is for not only your child, but for you the parent.
I continue to try to push through all of this, but sometimes feel like there is no end in sight. The doctors have just about NO CLUE what to do, but many have told me that interferon can really cause bad long term problems, and change your system drastically. Of course the HCV doctors were not the ones to tell me this. The Interferon problems should be over in a few months, according to them! Right. I wish you luck, but I do not think there are many answers yet for us.
This drug has created so many added problems with my disorder and with me that I absolutely cannot move out of bed without it. You have no idea what withdraw from this drug is like. I feel like a crack head, and yet I never asked for any of this. I have never voluntarily took this to get messed up, because I don’t have an addictive personality, but when a doctor prescribes you meds at 20 years old, you want to believe what he is giving you is legitimate.
i've been on norco, hydrocodone 7.5 and was taking too many a day for about 2 months, then this past week and a half tapperd down dramaticaly from 4 a day to 3 then 2 then to 1 5/500 mg yesturday monring and one this morning. and trust her completely, but would love to hear your comments. I have taken most all prescription wieght lose drugs with little or no real results, and am considering her suggestion to use Topamax. Please send any comments to aid me in my decision.
Since I have had no significant weight loss, there's no way it could be from that. I've started taking selenium, zinc, biotin, and a multivitamin and I hope that they can counteract whatever this drug is leaching from my body (I've also got an appt. with a dermatologist). Topamax has brought me such relief from paralyzing headaches, but I'm not sure staying on it is worth going bald!
been to eye doctors and according to them everything is fine except possibly refractory problem, but im using the new contacts they gave me and no difference......don't have money to go to neuro nor would i want to tell my parents about it....best of luck! hope you feel better!
