Vyvanse medication

Common Questions and Answers about Vyvanse medication

vyvanse

20003388 tn?1515166040 My psych doc started me on Rexulti last friday and is going to be starting me on Vyvanse in the next few days. I know that, at least most, antipsychotics reduce the effectiveness of stimulants due to their dopamine blocking properties. Rexulti, like Abilify, is actually a partial dopamine agonist as opposed to a dopamine antagonist. How would a stimulant work in conjunction with a partial dopamine agonist like Rexulti?
3063045 tn?1340654053 on 30 mg of Vyvanse 3 times daily. by 4 pm or so I am extremley tired.. is there a reason?
Avatar f tn After that, I was unable to handle the stress of the medication. My psychiatrist then recommended trying 40mg or vyvanse with .02mg of intuniv at night and .02mg in the morning. I had a very bad experience with intuniv. Then we tried 40 mg vyvanse with .02mg of kapvey (another form of clonidine), I have been on this combination for about six months, which have been about the best, most productive, and calm six months i've had since being diagnosed.
1218509 tn?1267490923 It was very smooth, it lasted around the 12-14 hours my Psychiatrist said it would, and I did not give me any side effects. I would highly recommend Vyvanse to anyone who needs a ADHD/ADD medication. I can only wish you the best experience with this medication once it is available by you.
3063045 tn?1340654053 The last thing you want to do is to take more vyvanse if that is the case. Vyvanse is usually only taken once per day as it lasts 8 to 12 hours. Call your doctor immediately and find out what is going on. And double check your dosing directions! With some other types of stim meds these dosing methods would make sense, but not vyvanse.
Avatar f tn I am going to go off Vyvanse due to severe anxiety when crash hits. No dose seemed to fit for me. But, I lost the weight I was needing to lose (20 lbs) and if I go off Vyvanse, will it come back on with a vengance? I have heard hunger just is out of control when stopping this drug. So I am afraid to stay on it and I am afraid to go off it.
1666464 tn?1303225358 First off I want to say thanks for your input. I really do appreciate it along with the additional information that you forwarded me. I too have thought that something else could possibly be causing my anxiety besides the Vyvanse. I don't know it's really weird but here's how it usually works when I try to go on some sort of ADD/ADHD medication. Also mind you that I've only been prescribed Adderall and Vyvanse so I can only reference the symptoms that I receive from these.
Avatar f tn im sick of insurance not paying for this medication yet not getting any other substantial benifit from vyvanse, anyone else experience a increased tolerence to any add meds?
Avatar m tn I have been on Vyvanse 70mg for years and I just noticed this morning after taking my medication it did not help me at all. So I decide to check my medication and sure enough it was half full, so I took another one and it worked fine. 13 out of 30 were less than half full, so what am I suppose to do the rest of the month.
Avatar n tn The problem is that my doc prescribed me 60 30mg capsules so im trying to figure out how many 30 mg capsules is 70 mg vyvanse which i know that a 30mg vyvanse is 10mg adderall and 70 mg vyvanse is 30mg adderall. Is 7 30mg vyvanse capsules 70mg dose .I switched from taking 30mg adderall twice a day im going to have to call doc tommorroww.Any help in figuring this out .Thank you Im trying to get 70 mg vyvanse out of these 30mg capsules 1 70 mg or 1 60 is the right dose for me.
Avatar m tn Even if you had high blood pressure before starting on the Vyvanse, the Vyvanse can make it worse. Try taking your blood pressure a few times on the Vyvanse and off the Vyvanse, at similar times of day and under similar circumstances. Depending on the results, you may need to talk to the doctor that is prescribing the Vyvanse to see if there is something else that can help your ADHD. I do agree with Yvette BG's other comments, above.
Avatar m tn My first medication was Vyvanse and it happens to work well for me. I already take an antidepressant, so if it does make me depressed I'm already covered...lol. And the bad mood thing...for about 45 min when it's wearing off, I'm soooo irritable and I bounce/wiggle my legs/feet more than I do before I took it...then I go back to my normal adhd self.
Avatar f tn Oh wow! I was not aware of Vyvanse being addictive. But I'm not trying to dispute that fact because it is technically an amphetamine. But if that isn't the reason, I don't see what the problem with just going off of it cold turkey. Hell I'll take it for two or three weeks and then forget to take it a day or two. Must be the ADD I swear! As once was said "If you can remember everyday to take your ADD medication then you don't have ADD".
Avatar f tn Adderall 10 mg = Vyvanse 30 mg, Adderall 20 mg = Vyvanse 50 mg, Adderall 30 mg = Vyvanse 70 mg. I always start lower than expected with a change to Vyvanse, as for about 10-15% that anticipated dose of Vyvanse proves too much. I don’t want folks on my watch to experience 10% problems." I would also check the comments in the above link and some of them might apply to you. the link is - http://www.corepsych.
Avatar n tn I was prescribed Vyvanse around 5-6 months ago and take it on a regular basis (40mg). I was upped to 40mg about two months ago. I have had clumps of hair falling out, usually in the shower and can noticeably tell that my hair is thinning. I am a 22 year old Female and have never had this problem before. I have no other health problems to my knowledge. I'm currently in college, which is why stopping the Vyvanse just isn't an option right now.
Avatar m tn m actually remarkably less anxious when on the medication. The ADD medication is what ends the morning attacks. That would suggest the morning thing is withdrawal but I sometimes take half or none and the next day: same thing. So I don't think that is the cause, but if anyone is on ADD meds and reports the same response, I'll be interested.
Avatar n tn My question is this: Has anyone taken adhd medication such as vyvanse and is in recovery from adrugs and alcohol?
Avatar f tn I have a question about Vyvanse. Currently, I am on 70mg. The problem is it wears off after 4-5 hours and I experience the worst crash and depression! I have experimented and taken 2 Vyvanse 70mg in one day.. one at 7am & the other at 1pm. That dosage lasted me until 9pm that night. I have read tons of articles about this wearing off on ADHD websites & forums.I also read where doctors are prescribing up to 210mg of Vyvanse. The most common high dose is 140mg.
Avatar f tn My 20 year old son recently gradually weaned off 60 mg/day Vyvanse so that he can join the Marines (must be off for 1 year - military rules). He is having a very rough time. Extreme fatigue, totally unmotivated, extreme focus issues. He says he feels like a totally different person off totally off the med. Appetite is high too but he knows how to control that. My question is are these symptoms temporary - does it take a while for his body to adjust to being off the med?
Avatar f tn I have tried a holistic approach in my diet, life habits and petition God in prayer as well as different medications from time to time. I am very healthy except for this disorder, but was seeing a doctor for medication, Strattera when I went on medicaid. Does medicaid cover Stratterra, Vyvanse or Concerta and other ADHD or ADD medications?
Avatar n tn I'm taking Vyvanse and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't work at all. Sometimes I just want to sleep all day and never feel the effects of increased focus, motivation, interest, and energy. I'm on a low dose of 30 mg, but because I do feel the effects sometimes I'm wondering if it's a problem with my digestion at times and some inability to metabolize the vyvanse for it to work properly.
Avatar f tn Im a 19 years old boy and i have tried vyvanse which did miracles at first at 20mg until the effect decreased and had to go up to 60mg with no effects except the bad ones and went back to my old self(lazy, tired, unmotivated etc.). I am now on concerta 36mg and it seems like working but not all the time and clearly not as much as first time vyvanse.
