vyvanse my children don't really want to eat and when it wears off they act like do get any food why?
I belong to a support group for teachers and parents of children suffering from anxiety. Many of the children take medication - including Celexa. About four children in our group are on this medication (all in conjuction with intervention and/or therapy). For these children, this "drug" seems to work the best with the fewest side effects. Our child takes Celexa - before that Prozac and Effexor. Celexa is the best one for her - so far.
Hello, yes I have been taking this combination of Vyvanse (70mg per day in the am) and Clonidine (0.2mg in the afternoon and 0.2mg at night). I highly prefer Vyvanse over adderall because I do not suffer from side effects w/Vyvanse as with the adderall. The Vyvanse is much smoother than most all other adhd drugs. I have never experienced shortness of breath while taking Vyvanse, however, I am 25 years old and 180lbs. I am also a Registered Nurse.
we have tried several meds. currently he is on 50 mg of vyvanse, 40 mg of citalopram and 2mg of abilify a day. his behavior is beyond horrible. should i just take him off meds?
I had an allergic reaction to both, Adderall and Vyvanse, and my body refuses to metabolize these type of drugs properly. What do I do now? Just take Wellbutrin XL 150 for life? I'm a total disaster at work w/out the stimulants.
Anyone knows of alternatives? I do take Omega-3s, vitamins, acetyl l-carnitine etc.
m hoping that it will kick in first ( is it within 30 minutes?) and then after it kicks in to give Vyvanse. We are hoping that in a few hours when the effect from Ritalin crashes down the Vyvanse will then have peaked and so that he won't suffer from anxiety that's common from Ritalin since Vyvanse gives a euphoric effect. Anybody has tried these drugs in this order?
July of last year I had a daughter born with several holes in her heart, VSD, and aortic coratation of the aorta. Since than she has had two open heart surgeries and nothing genetically was found worng. I was taking lamictal 200mg and vyvanse 70mg. I found out I was pregnant Nov 2010 stopped the vyvanse the very next day, but was told to continue taking lamictal. The doctors say there aren't studies that prove lamictal causes birth defect and there aren't studies that say it won't.
I disagree with the analysis above regarding Vyvanse withdrawal. My neuro-psychiatrist indicated that, unlike other ADD medications, my missing 1 day was the cause of Extreme fatigue, depression, irritability along with ADD symptoms. NOT INCLUSIVE EXPLANATION: Vyvanse uses adrenaline/cortisol (fight-flight hormones), stopping is similar to exhaustion following an intense situation and recovery time correlates to how long you've been taking it.
Has your mom tried to reduce the number of medicines. Maybe try Vyvanse only in a small dosage to begin with. I also agree with DFW670 that your nephew needs to be correctly diagnosed by a specialist in children's mental health. Do not give him any medication without a proper diagnosis from a respected specialist. His general primary doctor is not qualified to manage these medicines. He needs to refer your mom and nephew to a specialist.
I'm 16 years old, male, 6'3", 185 lbs. I have been prescribed Vyvanse to treat my ADD symptoms for about two years (currently at 70mg), and the results have been amazing. I have maintained a 4.0 GPA or higher in every grading period so far in my highschool career. But, I have recently noticed that I often get dizzy while doing cardio workouts, and a dangerously high heart rate. However, I'm in no means out of shape, and am extremely ripped.

Its possible that exercise will help your husband feel better. And by exercise, I mean working up a good sweat. But, I've got a feeling that the V should be completely out of his system. Which makes me wonder what is going on. Did he have these feelings before going on V?
t like a 50mg supposed to last up to like 10 hrs on average maybe? Well imagine 250mg and in my case, I added more the next day, with ALOT of extra vyvanse still in my system, so it went up to 450mg and the only bad side effect I had, was depression. And I slept fine that night, and woke up feeling normal the next day...

I had severe ADHD when I was your son's age but I managed to get good grades once in High School. Consider getting your children off those drugs and a good diet before you make his symptoms permanent.
I needed 130-150mg Vyvanse + ~ 20 mg dex IR in the evenings to get through a full days work in university. I was on this dose for 8 years, earned an honours BSc. in chemistry, and then my specialist lost his license, (unrelated to prescribing high doses for me), and now I can’t find a doctor in Ontario, (Canada) who will help me.
Wellbutrin could be a bit more suitable for you with less side-effects if dopamine and norepinephrine is a problem in your depression/anxiety. Depression often leads to anxiety so yeah maybe when you took Vyvanse you had euphoric effects similar to those with amphetamine ''speed''. The extra dopamine and norepinephrine you produce using this drug is contributing to the well-being feeling, focus and energy.
The problem is that my doc prescribed me 60 30mg capsules so im trying to figure out how many 30 mg capsules is 70 mg vyvanse which i know that a 30mg vyvanse is 10mg adderall and 70 mg vyvanse is 30mg adderall.Is 7 30mg vyvanse capsules 70mg dose .I switched from taking 30mg adderall twice a day im going to have to call doc tommorroww.Any help in figuring this out .Thank you Im trying to get 70 mg vyvanse out of these 30mg capsules 1 70 mg or 1 60 is the right dose for me.
If you have ADHD and a prescription - no worries even if it does show up. If you don't ....then this search showed that, "Vyvanse is detectable in urine up to 3 days after ingesting Vyvanse. Vyvanse is detectable in hair samples for months after ingestion. Though Vyvanse itself only stays in your system four hours post-ingestion, the active drug d-amphetamine stays in your system for 40 hours.
im on the highest dosage of vyvanse and its supposed to last longer than addorall but it seems to be working less and less...is that possible?? im sick of insurance not paying for this medication yet not getting any other substantial benifit from vyvanse, anyone else experience a increased tolerence to any add meds?
my step son is supposed to take vyvanse and clonidine, but he has been out of vyvance for 3weeks now and seems fine taking only clonidine.
Vyvanse maintains a long, steady, consistent blood level all day — advantages over Adderal. But Vyvanse takes three hours to kick in, while it is metabolized in the liver so it has that nice long steady life. On the other hand, Adderol kicks in immediately, and has a short effective life. Perfect fit.
Adderol is like Special Forces who goes in to accomplish a specialized mission, and then leaves.. On the other hand, Vyvanse is the army, does all the heavy lifting and 95% of everything else.
Just a couple of months ago I was diagnosed ADHD, and Vyvanse was prescribed, along with clonidin. I have to really watch my blood pressure now, because if I miss taking the atenenol, my blood pressure will shoot up over 160 really quick.
Is there any solution for people with 2 conditions like this where the medication for one condition diametrically opposes
the medication for the second condition ?
Would some other blood pressure medication work better than a beta blocker ?
I also noticed that Vyvanse lasts about 6 hours for me so my Doctor gave me 20 mg Adderral to take in the morning and then I take the Vyvanse in the afternoon. I am also trying to quit chewing and was wondering if nicotine has an effect when taking these medications? It seems when I take Adderral or Vyvanse the cravings increase! If anyone has any thoughts let me know, thank you.
