Vyvanse how to abuse

Common Questions and Answers about Vyvanse how to abuse

vyvanse

Avatar f tn he faked being ADHD???to get vyvanse from her. How the hell to you do that? And be on Ambian and restoril and Xanax??????? How unethical is that? I went with him to his shrinks office and she took him off the ambian and "dosed" him down on vyvanse...this was last June 2011. He was unwilling to end it entirely by late Nov. I ended it. These shrinks should have their licenses yanked! I was put thru hell for 3 yrs. not knowing about the vyvanse.
Avatar n tn The pill is a 50mg capsule, now yes it can be opened and it does contain powder inside. But can you really abuse this medication and please explain to me how you would even abuse this medication?
Avatar n tn Now my question is how does a 16 year old (or others of any age) abuse adderall? How exactly do they abuse adderall? How is it done? Im asking because I have high position that my daighter is not only "trying" to abuse her vyvanse but I think she also doing adderall and getting it off the streets (from friends she may know or known drug dealers). I can just see a big difference in her behavior.
Avatar f tn t need meds for it, but thought it would help with the pain med abuse and just listened to the doc. Since starting the Vyvanse I now realize that it is just as addictive and habit forming as the pain meds for me. I took it correctly for maybe a month if that (started on it in Jan of this year). I realized it was becoming a problem so I tried to stop.
Avatar f tn There is no need for him to cease using the prescribed vyvanse but do take care of the other addictions. Vyvanse wont be prompting the use of them, but if not taken care of he will prompt the use of them.

Avatar n tn YES! I'm a 22 year old male taking 50 mg vyvanse daily. I'm in recovery for alcohol and cocaine abuse. Been sober now for 10 months, and yes it has been difficult not to abuse vyvanse. Addicts think different than most people. We find something we like and all we can think is more more more. What I do is get a friend to hold my vyvanse and give it me as needed. I don't recommend holding on to them yourself!!! Bad idea!!
Avatar n tn And i used to abuse my vyvanse im talking 4-500 mg. If you have a very high tolerance youl feel great but if not it will make you quite sick or worse. Dont have a heart attack buddy.
Avatar f tn I also want to say that these two meds are generally not given together. Taking the two together is known ot increase side effects.
Avatar n tn I never knew what kind of side effect would drug abuse cause. i have grat job grat wife but those meds effect my life.Any advice on what to do what are my options on weaning down without going back on illigal drugs have not done so even i had urge. Please help my baby is coming in the month.
Avatar f tn I am going to be stopping vyvanse tomorrow after taking/abusing it for a month and a half to two months the last refill was for 50mg and most days I would take 2. I have some wellbutrin that might help. I would appreciate any suggestions/thoughts you might have. I had about 4 or 5 days off a week or so ago between waiting on my refill and I was very lethargic. I did not have any wellbutrin then.
Avatar f tn First of all I would like to congratulate you on your sobriety you are on the road to recovery to better yourself. I too am a recovering addict and I take adderall. My sponser and others hate it and want me off it but I have problems from other meds I'm on falling asleep at anytime and have ran off the road before. I'm very frustrated and don't know what to do. I take 30 mg twice a day and it is not working very well anymore and I wonder if it is actually working at all.
990354 tn?1307132886 I started out on Vyvanse, then due to insurance went to generic Adderall. I found Vyvanse to work much better, so I think I solved the insurance problem and I'm going to go back on Vyvance soon after I finish my Adderall generic. I found no transition problem between the two medicines. All these meds are really the same sort of thing. But it isn't wise to mix medicines. I know doctors would not like this.
Avatar f tn I just found 3- 70mg pills in my sons room in a tiny plastic bag. I googled them to find out what they were. 1st I don't know how to figure out if he is actually taking them or if he is selling them. I know he has been smoking a lot of pot and I have confronted him about it. But he is 20. I have given him a timeline to move out- April 15th. But I have 2 little ones here and am afraid if the side effects of this drug are severe that maybe I should be doing something more?
Avatar f tn have u talked to ur dr??? effexor is an anti-depressant...may need to taper it to quit but shouldnt be a real tough one//.but if u r depressed then u may need to stay on it....vyvanse is an amphetamine//but a new one that sposdly has a built in abuse control thingy in it....but not thinkin it comes in a 50 mg dose...believe it is 30, 60 or 70 but not positive..anyway 50 mg is not the highest dose..and amphetamines can have a mental wd//not physical as a rule but everyone is different...
Avatar f tn So.. I cycle between 2 to 3 days use/abuse of Vyvanse, trash those pills. Then a week or so later I get some phentermine diet pills and do the same, use/abuse a few days then trash. This has been going on since late January. Before that I battled with pain med abuse for well over a year. I've not had pain meds since Jan of this year. I like the speedy feeling of the vyvanse and phentermine, but not the lack of sleep, dry mouth and other side effects. I want to get out of this cycle!
11323603 tn?1417233792 How should I take Vyvanse? Take Vyvanse exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Follow all directions on your prescription label. Your doctor may occasionally change your dose to make sure you get the best results. Do not take this medicine in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended. Lisdexamfetamine is a drug of abuse and may be habit-forming. Keep track of the amount of medicine used from each new bottle.
Avatar f tn I started taking Vyvance about 6 months ago. Started taking it to help me focus on tests and studying at home (yes I know, it's not a good idea to abuse Vyvance for school because you will start to rely on it etc,). I started taking 40 mg every other day and then I would quit for about 2-3 weeks once the euphoria went away. That's the best way to keep the euphoria when taking Vyvance. One thing I wouldn't recommend for people experimenting with Vyvance is increasing your dose.
Avatar n tn I used to be able to take it normally, one 30mg a day in the morning, and if needed a Vyvanse mid afternoon to get me through the rest of the day. A couple years ago I found myself abusing it. More and more every time. I couldn't stop. I would go 2-3 days with no sleep (terrible I know). It ended up costing me basically everything. I hit rock bottom and despite knowing the reasoning why I was failing life, I continued to take it.
Avatar n tn I would suggest you talk to your doctor and your pharmacist about it they can give you the best and most up to date info on it .
Avatar n tn And yes, you are right that Ritalin is faster working. So it might be worth trying to see how he responds to that. And some people just do better on R anyway. If he does not respond to the R in 15 to 20 min. It may be that he is what Dr. Parker calls a slow metabolizer. See more about that here - http://www.corepsych.
Avatar f tn And vyvanse, I believe, is not a med that one has to take for awhile before it starts working. So, you do need to talk to your doctor to let him know what is going on. Oh, the med is fairly fast acting, so you should be seeing the results. One thing that does bother me though is that this is information that your doctor should also have given you. Hopefully, he/she is not being remiss in other areas of information. Medication is only part of an overall treatment program.
Avatar n tn Hi! I've been slowly upping my Vyvanse dose & am currently taking 50mg every morning. I've noticed I can easily take a nap any time of day (similar to before Vyvanse) does this mean my dose is still to low?
Avatar f tn I would first ask your doctor about increasing the V dose. V is a smoother drug that can take up to 45 mins to start working and you may just not be used to its gradual onset. However, it should last 10+ hours. If it does not - thats a pretty good sign you are underdosed.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone! Thanks so much for reading - I'm hoping someone who has experience with this might be able to help steer me in the right direction. - First of all, I'm female, 23 years old, 5'3, about 135lbs - I have been prescribed Adderall ir for Adult ADD and treatment resistant depression for about 3 years now. In the beginning, we started with just 5mg - and it did wonders for me! It was like a switch had been turned on, and I could see clearly again.
12880268 tn?1427636775 s been almost a month since I have been on that regime and I want to ask my doctor if he can increase my Vyvanse to the 50mg. What I'm worried about is I heard these are controlled substances and I don't want my doc to think I'm drug seeking because then he'll take me off everything, and I wouldn't want that. What I have right now is good, I just think that 50mg would create a more substantial baseline and last throughout the day like it is meant to be.
Avatar n tn you definitely should to talk to your prescriber. Why in the world are you trying to figure out ON YOUR OWN how to take more Vyvanse than prescribed?! You said, ''you feel like 70 mg is right for you''' well obviously, your doctor didn't think that at first, so you were prescribed 30 mg capsules. Be honest and talk your dr and see if he can change your dosage. Prescription medication isn't something to **** around with...especially ADD medications. Get help.
