Vyvanse get high

Common Questions and Answers about Vyvanse get high

vyvanse

According to the info on vyvanse, unlike other meds, you cannot snort the chemicals and get high. It must be ingested. Of course, this begs the question of where she learned to break open the capsules and snort and why. Furtheremore, if she has ADHD, the medication should not affect her the way it would someone without ADHD. So there is something weird going on here.
/ i feel really good for the first three to four hours and then major anxiety sets in and i get shaky and cold, chilled to the bone cold. I take 30 mg in the morning and im wondering if i need a higher dose or switch meds? Anyone??
Along with Vyvanse, he has to take a sleep aid of Chlonodine. Dont forget when they take Vyvanse it is real important that they get a full eight to ten hours of rest. Good Luck, he has been doing very well.
im never going to take anything like this again, and your right when you get used to studying with help from the high you get from drugs like these it makes it much harder to get things done without them.
But, I have recently noticed that I often get dizzy while doing cardio workouts, and a dangerously high heart rate. However, I'm in no means out of shape, and am extremely ripped. I'm worried that Vyvanse is messing with my heart, and I'm not sure what to do. I was a 3 sport varsity athlete as a freshman, and this issue is really giving me a scare. I would just stop taking Vyvanse, but it helps me do great in school, and I'm getting to the point where I'm dependent on the drug.
His doctor put him on Vyvanse. He has since flunked out of 2 colleges due to the fact that he can't focus. He IS and has always been a very good athlete, playing football and basketball in high school and college. I assume that is due to the fast-pace of those sports. However, I am beginning to wonder if the Vyvanse is working on the problem. The doctor said that he has to get him on the right dosage and has been changing the strength.
I believe that is normal, however you might be on too high of a dose. Everyone is different. Vyvanse works wonders for some people and other people just hate it. So you might want to talk to your doctor about adjusting your dose or switching do a different medication. I learned the hard way that adjusting medications (especially for adhd) is NOT a quick process. It takes time, so just try to be patient and eventually you'll get it right.
he refered me to a psych. my psych told me that vyvanse would help my add and my depression. he started me on 30mg and had to move me up to 50mg after 2 weeks because it was wearing off half way through the day and i would get extremely tired. when i first started taking the drug i noticed that i was more clear headed and driven through the day. at the same time i noticed that my appetite had decressed,my throat stayed dry and i was having trouble falling asleep.
he faked being ADHD???to get vyvanse from her. How the hell to you do that? And be on Ambian and restoril and Xanax??????? How unethical is that? I went with him to his shrinks office and she took him off the ambian and "dosed" him down on vyvanse...this was last June 2011. He was unwilling to end it entirely by late Nov. I ended it. These shrinks should have their licenses yanked! I was put thru hell for 3 yrs. not knowing about the vyvanse.
I got on Vyvanse last year and I had high blood pressure again. I stopped taking it for a while, but I was still having high blood pressure so my Dr. put me on Lisinopril 10 mg & HCTZ 25 mg. My BP has still been high on this, even off Vyvanse (I am taking it again now since I am back in school). I told my Dr. about my anxiety bc I get really stressed about little stuff and almost feel like I am going to have a breakdown. I used to be on Prozac, but didn't think it did anything.
Yep, there are sites that I know of that get into this. By the way, a high protein breakfast is apparently very helpful in making V more effective. The sites are; http://www.addadhdblog.com/vyvanse-dosage-how-to-get-the-right-dose/#c987e and this info is also helpful http://www.corepsych.com/2009/04/adhd-medications-use-the-therapeutic-window-corepsych-radio/ Hope this helps.
My son was prescribed Vyvanse at 4 yrs old I just found out it isn't supposed to be given to a child under 6. I am worried about this causing future problems. My son is very aggressive, they say has ADHD and has trouble focusing and staying still. I took him to a new doctor and she recommended having him evaluated by a psychaitrist but said not to take him off the medication until 2 or 3 days before his appointment.
My 20 year old son recently gradually weaned off 60 mg/day Vyvanse so that he can join the Marines (must be off for 1 year - military rules). He is having a very rough time. Extreme fatigue, totally unmotivated, extreme focus issues. He says he feels like a totally different person off totally off the med. Appetite is high too but he knows how to control that. My question is are these symptoms temporary - does it take a while for his body to adjust to being off the med?
I also read where doctors are prescribing up to 210mg of Vyvanse. The most common high dose is 140mg. This is called Off Label Prescribing. Does anyone here take over 70mg of Vyvanse? If so, how long does it last? I actually called Shire this past weekend and made a product complaint. I told the rep that my meds were wearing off after 4-5 hours & asked if it was possible to get my doctor to write for more than 70mg.

I have struggled throughout middle school, high school and now college because I am unable to focus, and comprehend what my professors are trying to teach. I will sit in class and tell myself I need to focus, but 30 seconds later I will start thinking about random things that have nothing to do with the class. Once I leave my classes I always say to myself, I have no idea what we just went over. I have difficulty paying attention to details and tendency to make careless mistakes in school.
About 2 years ago I was prescribed vyvanse but decided to get off of it about halfway through my senior year. I'm a freshman in college now and recently saw my physiatrist during break and got a 1 month prescription. This is the first week I'm taking it again and I have been experiencing extreme paranoia late at night. Ive also been experiencing insomnia throughout the entire spring semester so far.
I am going to be stopping vyvanse tomorrow after taking/abusing it for a month and a half to two months the last refill was for 50mg and most days I would take 2. I have some wellbutrin that might help. I would appreciate any suggestions/thoughts you might have. I had about 4 or 5 days off a week or so ago between waiting on my refill and I was very lethargic. I did not have any wellbutrin then.
This is partially what I went on the drug to get rid of but it's making it worse. Has anyone else had a bad reaction to Vyvanse, if so what was it and how did you resolve it? I'm going to ask my doc if the dose it too high. Has anyone else had unwanted side effects from too high of a dose? Any experience with Vyanse good or bad would be appreciated. Thanks so much for your help, as always!!
In fact I waited a whole 24 hours until my last Adderall pill to take Vyvanse just to make sure I was safe. When I began Vyvanse treatment it really worked. It kept me focused I was pretty much where I wanted to be. I had some tension and anxiety but I could cope with it. Vyvanse was giving me the clarity that I was looking for with some side-effects that I could manage, at the time.
He still had a difficult time going to sleep last night. My dr said it is probably do to the Vyvanse trying to get out of his system. Can you believe that on a different site that I am a member a young girl told me that I was committing child abuse by medicating my child? She looks like she is in her 20's and has no children. She is bashing everyone on the website for giving their children medication.
At noon, after taking forever to get up and eat breakfast, I took the Vyvanse again. I could be exaggerating, but I felt, almost immediately, the surge of energy come back again. My eyes (especially my left) were left dilated. I was very childishly irritable with my father, and became hyperactive. It lasted for a while, and, just as quickly as it started, disappeared. While I was writing all of this, things got worse.
Adderall 10 mg = Vyvanse 30 mg, Adderall 20 mg = Vyvanse 50 mg, Adderall 30 mg = Vyvanse 70 mg. I always start lower than expected with a change to Vyvanse, as for about 10-15% that anticipated dose of Vyvanse proves too much. I don’t want folks on my watch to experience 10% problems." I would also check the comments in the above link and some of them might apply to you. the link is - http://www.corepsych.
I proceeded to use Adderall for over a year until I had a friend told me about Vyvanse. My doc prescribed me 70mg Vyvanse, to compare with my Adderall dose previously prescribed. When feeling the effects of Vyvanse it is truly a saving grace and I really feel "limitless". I think clear, I don't feel over stimulated or the out of body experience like other ADHD drugs.
Since the EKG was normal, could it just be a panic attack from lack of sleep, food, and a high dosage of vyvanse over a short period with no tolerance?
I would venture to guess that the weed/Vyvanse combo set something off. I've smoked my fair share in the past and absolutely cannot on Vyvanse or similar drugs. My brother in-law had a similar experience when he was about 16/17. He mixed many drugs and his brain sort of snapped. He has a family history of bi-polar. Some people have a genetic disposition for disorders and they lay dormant until something activates it, like a weed/meth combo. I know you are scared.
over a relatively short period of time, it was back down to 129/79, but that's still too high, IMO. I'll survive without the Vyvanse; I'm going to see if I can't get my blood pressure down to a normal level with weight loss (215 now, should be 190 max) and exercise. Thank you.
I have been recently diagnosed with add and my dr proscribed me Vyvanse 30mgs twice daily. My dr also told me that if i didn't wake up in time for the first dose to just skip it and only take my second dose.
If the high blood pressure just started, it could be a side effect of the Vyvanse. Even if you had high blood pressure before starting on the Vyvanse, the Vyvanse can make it worse. Try taking your blood pressure a few times on the Vyvanse and off the Vyvanse, at similar times of day and under similar circumstances. Depending on the results, you may need to talk to the doctor that is prescribing the Vyvanse to see if there is something else that can help your ADHD.
My pulse rate seems high at times, I get panic attacks when I am out in public for fear of passing out...I feel like a mess. I do have a followup with my Dr. next week but it is always nice to hear from others when my appts. seem to be so quick. Thanks!
