BTW, When I took the Vyvanse for a 30 day trial, it hadn't been approved by the FDA yet for adult use(Aug. 2007) I just found out about a month ago that it has been approved by the FDA for adults. I received a letter in the mail b/c I take Adderall XR, which is made by the same Pharm Co as Vyvanse, Shire Pharmecueticals. It was just a notice saying that Vyvanse has been approved for adult use.
If you are being treated for Narcolepsy its could be too low. If you have ADHD, there are more important factors then taking a nap. In fact, I think that the ability to take a nap would show that it is working for you.
I do hope that you are upping your dose under your doctors supervision. The doc does need to know what is going on. Furthermore, the dose should probably be upped only after your body has had time to adjust. In other words, you don't up it every 4 days or something.

Hello I'm 29 years old and have been taking adderall for several months and have also found it not as effective. I have (rather my doctor has) upped my dose twice and now take 30 mg twice a day. i have read that if you take tums or a teaspoon of baking soda 45 min before dose that it will make it more potent and last longer so I'm willing to try. Basically if ur stomach is too acidic it will eat up the adderall which is a salt. My medicine not working as well frustrates me bad!
I have been on Vyvanse for a while now. And was worried when they doctor said it was very similar to Adderall XR. But he promised me that the issues I was having with feeling ill, insomnia, and no appitite would lessen on Vyvanse. And that the nasty, gross stimulant feeling I got from Adderall would go away.
And he was right about everything and then some. And believe me if there is a side effect to have I will have it.
My son who is 9 yrs old has started Vyvanse since January of this year. He is currently on about 25 mg of Vyvanse. The only thing that I don't like about it is that it takes a long time to kick in, like about 2.5 hours for my son. So often in the morning he will seem unfocused so will not do well during early 8am test. His doctor and I discussed trying Ritalin first in the morning and then adding Vyvanse, which is the reverse of what many people do.
I'm taking Vyvanse and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't work at all. Sometimes I just want to sleep all day and never feel the effects of increased focus, motivation, interest, and energy. I'm on a low dose of 30 mg, but because I do feel the effects sometimes I'm wondering if it's a problem with my digestion at times and some inability to metabolize the vyvanse for it to work properly.
Hello my name is John and was wondering if anyone can share experiences with Vyvanse. I started Vyvanse 3 months ago and my Doctor started me on a low dose and slowly upped the dose to 50 mg which worked great for me, but I wanted to see if 60 mg would benefit me more. I tried it for 2 weeks and it was definitely too much, it made me very up tight and not myself. So I went back down to 50 mg and now it seems if the 50 mg doesn't work as good as before. Has anyone experienced this?
He prescribed Vyvanse to take in the morning then before bed I am supposed to take Topamax (migraine medicine) and Trintellix (an antidepressant) as well as a diet.
I started on the Vyvanse mostly b/c I also suffer from ADHD and it is really great so far for my attention at work. However I am really leery of taking new meds especially if I do not need them and even so I would like to see how I react to one before taking others on top of it.

I'm tired all the time and practically a person that is always in shambles. I'm 41 yrs old and diagnosed with ADHD because of my symptoms. I was prescribed Vyvanse. I took 20mg today but it put me to sleep. I was wondering if there was a possibility of me having thyroid problems because of this effect the Vyvanse had on me? I thought i was going to be focused and energized. Can you please let me know if this is the effect Vyvanse does to people with thyroid problems?

My son has been takiing this med Vyvanse for adhd, so I decided to take it to see if it would help me with my depression and anxiety, and it worked great, I didn't have any side effect to it. This is why I ask if its okay to take Vyvanse for my anxiety, right now I'm taking celexa but its not doing nothing for me anymore. I've been taking Celexa for the past 3 yrs and I think its time for me to change my meds.
Also the earned income tax credit has dropped drastically too. for all the new tax changes look into the fiscal cliff that America is facing. It will hurt low income people the most. women use to getting 3-5,000 back will now only be getting 1-2000 back it ***** n is only going to make our economy worse!
I dont have a job and i feel like everywhere ive aplyed for has turned me down cause im pregnant (even if they didnt say thats y) due to risk and maternaty leave and blah blah blah... but i really need a job i am pretty much on my own as of getting things for my baby and such. My 16 year old son has been on vyvanse for 3 weeks. He cannot sleep, the doctor suggested putting him on clonidine to help. Has anyone had any experience with taking clonidine as a sleep aid while on vyvanse? Also, my son is extremely short of breath when doing any physical activity. He takes 50 mg of Vyvanse daily and was wondering if anyone has experienced this side effect with Vyvanse. Thank you.
Hey Linz, my psych had switched me to Vyvanse when it first came out, and at my next appointment I asked to be switched back to Adderral XR. The vyvanse did not work much at all for me, if anything it made me worse. So now I'm back on Adderral, and doing alright, or as alright as I can be doing (unfortunately meds don't make everything ok).
So I have 2 jobs that I will returning to after maternity leave so it a not like I'll be quitting.. Is there anyway I could get unemployment or some kind of income while I'm out?

my step son is supposed to take vyvanse and clonidine, but he has been out of vyvance for 3weeks now and seems fine taking only clonidine.
My doctor told me I could play around with the doses and see what works for me, since he would be seeing me in two weeks. I started to try different doses of Vyvanse and Adderall, starting at 10mg Vyvanse and going up to 50mg, and starting at 5mg Adderall (IR) and increasing to 10, at most, 4x a day.
The problem is that my doc prescribed me 60 30mg capsules so im trying to figure out how many 30 mg capsules is 70 mg vyvanse which i know that a 30mg vyvanse is 10mg adderall and 70 mg vyvanse is 30mg adderall.Is 7 30mg vyvanse capsules 70mg dose .I switched from taking 30mg adderall twice a day im going to have to call doc tommorroww.Any help in figuring this out .Thank you Im trying to get 70 mg vyvanse out of these 30mg capsules 1 70 mg or 1 60 is the right dose for me.
If you have ADHD and a prescription - no worries even if it does show up. If you don't ....then this search showed that, "Vyvanse is detectable in urine up to 3 days after ingesting Vyvanse. Vyvanse is detectable in hair samples for months after ingestion. Though Vyvanse itself only stays in your system four hours post-ingestion, the active drug d-amphetamine stays in your system for 40 hours.
