I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was 9 years old. Currently I am on Adderall, because Vyvanse was too expensive when I didn't have insurance. I took 60 mg of Vyvanse for three to four months, back in mid-2009; it was absolutely amazing. It was very smooth, it lasted around the 12-14 hours my Psychiatrist said it would, and I did not give me any side effects. I would highly recommend Vyvanse to anyone who needs a ADHD/ADD medication.

I was prescribed Vyvanse around 5-6 months ago and take it on a regular basis (40mg). I was upped to 40mg about two months ago. I have had clumps of hair falling out, usually in the shower and can noticeably tell that my hair is thinning. I am a 22 year old Female and have never had this problem before. I have no other health problems to my knowledge. I'm currently in college, which is why stopping the Vyvanse just isn't an option right now.

I am taking Vyvanse and Prozac, and I'm having trouble getting myself to eat. I am still in a healthy weight range, so I'm not worried about that. But I've been weak, fatigued, and dizzy at times because I'm not eating enough. Are there any protein shakes I should try, or something like that, so I can be getting the nutrients I need? I hate most protein shakes because I can't stand the texture, and they're usually gross. But I have to do something.

i have been taking vyvanse which has been one of the best medications that i have been given over the last several years---unfortunately, it is expensive without insurance. i have been having to pay around $158 dollars a month for it. provigil didn't do a whole lot for me.

Thanks Sandman2 for your reply. I have tried Vyvanse 70 mg before , but it didn't cover me the whole day. I don't think taking 140 mg of Vyvanse is worth the try and money. I have tried that dose before with another doctor. I might be needing something like 160 mg of Vyvanse. I am also on Wellbutrin and Ketamine now for depression. I take Ambien and Lorazepam to fall asleep. I know there is a link between the stimulants that I take during the day and the sleep aid pills at night.

Actually, I'll find the site and get it to you because the site by Dr. Charles Parker talks a lot about finding the right "window' to make meds work. I am pretty sure I also have a site that gives comparative dosing for concerta with other meds.

My 20 year old son recently gradually weaned off 60 mg/day Vyvanse so that he can join the Marines (must be off for 1 year - military rules). He is having a very rough time. Extreme fatigue, totally unmotivated, extreme focus issues. He says he feels like a totally different person off totally off the med. Appetite is high too but he knows how to control that. My question is are these symptoms temporary - does it take a while for his body to adjust to being off the med?

look for higher paying jobs or something if you are too stressed. They are expensive, but get 2nd hand clothes, cheap diapers(start buying early) or even cloth diapers?, try breast feeding/ pumping(formula is expensive). My son has been takiing this med Vyvanse for adhd, so I decided to take it to see if it would help me with my depression and anxiety, and it worked great, I didn't have any side effect to it. This is why I ask if its okay to take Vyvanse for my anxiety, right now I'm taking celexa but its not doing nothing for me anymore. I've been taking Celexa for the past 3 yrs and I think its time for me to change my meds.

im on the highest dosage of vyvanse and its supposed to last longer than addorall but it seems to be working less and less...is that possible?? im sick of insurance not paying for this medication yet not getting any other substantial benifit from vyvanse, anyone else experience a increased tolerence to any add meds?

In fact I waited a whole 24 hours until my last Adderall pill to take Vyvanse just to make sure I was safe. When I began Vyvanse treatment it really worked. It kept me focused I was pretty much where I wanted to be. I had some tension and anxiety but I could cope with it. Vyvanse was giving me the clarity that I was looking for with some side-effects that I could manage, at the time.

my step son is supposed to take vyvanse and clonidine, but he has been out of vyvance for 3weeks now and seems fine taking only clonidine.

The problem is that my doc prescribed me 60 30mg capsules so im trying to figure out how many 30 mg capsules is 70 mg vyvanse which i know that a 30mg vyvanse is 10mg adderall and 70 mg vyvanse is 30mg adderall.Is 7 30mg vyvanse capsules 70mg dose .I switched from taking 30mg adderall twice a day im going to have to call doc tommorroww.Any help in figuring this out .Thank you Im trying to get 70 mg vyvanse out of these 30mg capsules 1 70 mg or 1 60 is the right dose for me.

If you have ADHD and a prescription - no worries even if it does show up. If you don't ....then this search showed that, "Vyvanse is detectable in urine up to 3 days after ingesting Vyvanse. Vyvanse is detectable in hair samples for months after ingestion. Though Vyvanse itself only stays in your system four hours post-ingestion, the active drug d-amphetamine stays in your system for 40 hours.

Just a couple of months ago I was diagnosed ADHD, and Vyvanse was prescribed, along with clonidin. I have to really watch my blood pressure now, because if I miss taking the atenenol, my blood pressure will shoot up over 160 really quick. Is there any solution for people with 2 conditions like this where the medication for one condition diametrically opposes the medication for the second condition ? Would some other blood pressure medication work better than a beta blocker ?

My daughter taking vyvanse several months ago. I believe she is abusing the drug. How would she even do that? The pill is a 50mg capsule, now yes it can be opened and it does contain powder inside. But can you really abuse this medication and please explain to me how you would even abuse this medication?

My son who is 9 yrs old has started Vyvanse since January of this year. He is currently on about 25 mg of Vyvanse. The only thing that I don't like about it is that it takes a long time to kick in, like about 2.5 hours for my son. So often in the morning he will seem unfocused so will not do well during early 8am test. I am really sensitive to medications. Adderall was like what I imagine taking crystal methamphetamine feels like. At least I felt like how those people looked. I have been on Vyvanse for a while now. I started Vyvanse back in August 2010, and it was the miracle that I've been searching for. Over a span of 4 years, I've taken stimulants including: Concerta, 30mg Adderall IR, and 30mg Adderall XR. Concerta gave me migraines. Adderall XR completely sucked. Adderall IR was the best medication that I found until Vyvanse. Now I think Adderall is horrible in comparison. I've been taking 30mg of Vyvanse for a few months now.

Hi! I've been slowly upping my Vyvanse dose & am currently taking 50mg every morning. I've noticed I can easily take a nap any time of day (similar to before Vyvanse) does this mean my dose is still to low?

we have tried several meds. currently he is on 50 mg of vyvanse, 40 mg of citalopram and 2mg of abilify a day. his behavior is beyond horrible. should i just take him off meds?

Even if you had high blood pressure before starting on the Vyvanse, the Vyvanse can make it worse. Try taking your blood pressure a few times on the Vyvanse and off the Vyvanse, at similar times of day and under similar circumstances. Depending on the results, you may need to talk to the doctor that is prescribing the Vyvanse to see if there is something else that can help your ADHD. I do agree with Yvette BG's other comments, above.
