Just a couple of months ago I was diagnosed ADHD, and Vyvanse was prescribed, along with clonidin. I have to really watch my blood pressure now, because if I miss taking the atenenol, my blood pressure will shoot up over 160 really quick.
Is there any solution for people with 2 conditions like this where the medication for one condition diametrically opposes
the medication for the second condition ?
Would some other blood pressure medication work better than a beta blocker ?
Even if you had high blood pressure before starting on the Vyvanse, the Vyvanse can make it worse. Try taking your blood pressure a few times on the Vyvanse and off the Vyvanse, at similar times of day and under similar circumstances. Depending on the results, you may need to talk to the doctor that is prescribing the Vyvanse to see if there is something else that can help your ADHD. I do agree with Yvette BG's other comments, above.
t taken vyvanse for 3 months but have consistent chest pain which started when taking the drug. my blood pressure did go up when taking the drug so i was put on atenolol. I had since discontinued the drug (about 3 months ago) but the side effects continue . I have 24/7 tight chest.
Anyone with similar experience, recommendations, etc?
Why are you taking 3 Vyvanse pills of 70mg = 210mg?? Stop taking that much. I have been on Vyvanse for a legit condition for 7 years and have only recently had to have a small mg tablet add-on of adderall XR to take at the end of the day if my Vyvanse feels like its wearing off. You are asking for serious health problems if you continue taking that medicine irresponsibly. Not to be mean, but given the shear seriousness of your post, where is your common sense??
My 13 year old son's blood pressure has always been low for him at 90/60 and pulse of 70. He was always in great shape playing soccer and golf. He recently stopped playing soccer this past jan. He has been on Vyvanse for 4 yrs now for his ADHD. He is going through a growth spurt., eating more, sleeping more and he grew 1 3/4 inch in the past month. At his last exam, the doc said his bp was 110/85 and pulse was 115.
Agree... there are quite a few different medications that can make it difficult to lose weight. Some are notorious for causing weight gain, as well.
Anxiety can cause increased heart rate and thus I would assume high blood pressure. Heck just getting your blood pressure taken, if you are worried about it will cause a higher blood pressure.
Was your blood pressure monitored before you started the Duloxetine? And what is weird to me is that if the V was causing the high blood pressure - you think it would have been high the whole time you were on Vyvannse.
So, since May I have been prescribed amphetamines for adult ADHD. Prior to usage I had a full cardiac workup by a cardiologist and given a clean bill of health. I was on Adderall for awhile than switched to Dexedrine than finally Vyvanse. I have been taking Vyvanse for ADD for a few months. Since taking it I have developed pain associated with bowel movements; hemmorrhoids, pain post bm, blood etc. I checked for side effects for Vyvanse but aside from stomach pain, and diarrhea no other relatable side effects were shown. Im a healthy active 25 year old woman. For the past 5 months ive experiences these strange, unexplainable, black out fainting episodes. The only medication I take is 30mg vyvance in the morning, 75mg trazadone at night for sleep, then ocella for birth control. I also take multi viamins b12, zinc.
Hmmmmm. What is your typical blood pressure? Is it below 120/80? Even if your blood pressure is within "normal" limits, the hot water in a shower could lower it enough to cause temporary blood pooling in your extremities which could result in near-fainting.
Do you get enough salt (especially potassium) in your diet? If your electrolyte balance is out-of-whack (which can happen by drinking too much water) this can also cause problems.
My friend daughter is taking adderall and vyvanse together for school but she been having more problems with her misbehaving is this normal.
Reduced me back to 40mg Vyvanse in the am and because I said the 100% d-amp (realizing that is in effect what Vyvanse is after it cleaves) was making me too jittery switched me to a new drug - Evekeo. Which is 50% d-amp and 50% l-amp... From what I can research (bad habit on my part) the l-amp is what causes all the side effects people don't like in Adderall? The 50/50 split of D/L amps is, from what I can tell, the exact formulation of Benzedrine - which was removed from the market?
My son has been takiing this med Vyvanse for adhd, so I decided to take it to see if it would help me with my depression and anxiety, and it worked great, I didn't have any side effect to it. This is why I ask if its okay to take Vyvanse for my anxiety, right now I'm taking celexa but its not doing nothing for me anymore. im on the highest dosage of vyvanse and its supposed to last longer than addorall but it seems to be working less and less...is that possible?? im sick of insurance not paying for this medication yet not getting any other substantial benifit from vyvanse, anyone else experience a increased tolerence to any add meds?

The problem is that my doc prescribed me 60 30mg capsules so im trying to figure out how many 30 mg capsules is 70 mg vyvanse which i know that a 30mg vyvanse is 10mg adderall and 70 mg vyvanse is 30mg adderall.Is 7 30mg vyvanse capsules 70mg dose .I switched from taking 30mg adderall twice a day im going to have to call doc tommorroww.Any help in figuring this out .Thank you Im trying to get 70 mg vyvanse out of these 30mg capsules 1 70 mg or 1 60 is the right dose for me.
If you have ADHD and a prescription - no worries even if it does show up. If you don't ....then this search showed that, "Vyvanse is detectable in urine up to 3 days after ingesting Vyvanse. Vyvanse is detectable in hair samples for months after ingestion. Though Vyvanse itself only stays in your system four hours post-ingestion, the active drug d-amphetamine stays in your system for 40 hours.
