Avatar f tn When I wake up my skin is so oily and my hair is also. Why?? Anyone else having this problem and if u are, what's the sex of the baby? I read oily skin and hair means boy! Is it true?
Avatar n tn A good massage of the scalp is also helpful as it ensures an increased blood supply of the scalp and also takes away the oils of the scalp towards the hair. It makes sense to avoid the use of conditioner as it also tends to make the scalp oily. when shampooing the hair, switch from warm water to cool water after you've thoroughly rinsed away the shampoo. The cool water rinse helps close the pores of the scalp and slow down the oil production.
Avatar n tn Dear Dr, I am a girl, 23 year old and used to have thick hair. about 2 years ago. i noticed my hair is getting thinner and thinner. i went to the dermatology before.. but as i used to have thick hair.. so they couldnt realize i have any problem with my hair. so they didnt really took it as a serious problem. they said it is normal to lose hair. untill now, it getting worse..my situalation is not extremely bad.. i am loosing number of hair after i ve washed my hair.
Avatar n tn Then finally last year, I asked her to give me a hormone imbalanced test (because I was so sick of her telling me that I am just stressed out, and I can’t think of the reason for this oily scalp problem and hair loss), and while she was telling me that the results were negative (I told her I want to see a dermatologist, because these issues bother me so much!) She finally gives in and referred me to one (I think she got sick of my going back to see her for same problem!).
Avatar m tn s a particularly common problem for those of the many people with a combination hair crisis. Your scalp is oily and super-sebaceous, but your hair remains dry as a bone. The best bet for your oily scalp-area hair is to massage regular shampoo (none of those shampoo-conditioner combos) into it, cleaning the hair closest to your scalp in the process. Avoid the dry lengths of hair as you do this. You can even let it sit on your scalp for a few minutes.
Avatar f tn Thank you for the information. I am currently shampooing with Clobex and Ketoconazole 2% shampoo, both prescribed by the dermatologist. I have Nioxin which I use in between, but mainly use the condititioner, as the prescription shampoos are generally used. Oily? I would give anything to have an oily scalp. I honestly haven't had an oily scalp since I was a teenager. At least not too oily to notice. My scalp is like the Sahara Desert since this burn. Dry and scaly.
Avatar n tn Nowadays i have to wash it at least once a day because the scalp jsut becomes so oily, though the hair is somewhat dry. My scalp is so oily that from washing and letting it dry on its own(occasionally blow drying to see if it'll be less oily, but not)... lets say in abt 2 hours or so... when i put my fingers onto my scalp around the crown of my scalp, i can actually see specks of oils....
Avatar f tn It is supposed to be good both for the oily scalp as well dandruff if any. Avatar f tn Thanks for the info! I have tried some of the shampoos with salicylic acid or coal tar - all it did was make my scalp worse- sort of firery sore and super itchy. that's why I think its dry scalp and not dandruff or seborrheic dermatitis - the symptoms just don't fit. my hair and scalp are dry, not greasy - even if i go 3 days between shampoos my hair is not greasy. the flakes are small and white and not oily.
Avatar n tn hi im 25 years of age and i have oily dandruff scalp and my hair is not growing back is this some sort of skin disease on my head?
Avatar m tn I have a two part problem I have a severe case of dandruff, but I also have oily hair and I get these "bumps" that from what I can find are a type of Sebaceous cyst. (They look and feel just like a pimple on my scalp and come to a head just like a pimple.) I have battled the "bumps" for more than 6-7 years now and have never found anything that works to keep them away. I have used T-gel of various strengths, tea tree shampoos, shampooing twice, shampoo and conditioner, etc.
Avatar f tn Scalp benefits balancing shampoo by aveda. Their lines are expensive but you really get what you pay for. I was getting extremely greasy and flaky hair, I use Kenra and bed head products normally but went and bought aveda's rosemary mint and it totally changed my hair and scalp. No more flakes or itchy scalp for this lady (; the scalp benefits has even helped people with psoriasis.

876805 tn?1240185863 s pretty much for scalp issues such as oily scalp, dry scalp dandruff, psoriasis..) and then this conditioner called american classic tea tree conditioner.. it's absolutely amazing, the first time i used it i could FEEL the difference, it was like such a relief to my scalp. The first one whatever is in it soothes my scalp and then the tea tree oil does something else that helps, no idea what but it feels so much better. Hope that helps a little bit!!
Avatar f tn They range from little pimples to large ones and some are like blind pimples. They are very painful and they come and go. I found that it helps to use an oil free shampoo/conditioner or shampoo for oily hair, even tho I don't always have oily hair. I am getting really frustrated because no Dr. has been able to give me a good diagnoses or treatment. One Dr.
Avatar f tn Then i started getting bumps, i thought it was just accumulated flakes but when i scratched them (cause they itch like hell), they would secrete either blood or a really smelly transparent liquid, and i mean a lot not just a little bit. As i tried shampoos like head and shoulders, suddenly my forehead, starting from scalp to about an inch off my hair line, my skin started to peel off, and as of now it looks now like a long scab on my for head and has turned my skin white.
9562964 tn?1416928231 The type of shampoo you use should also depend on your hair type in terms of texture and whether it is dry, oily as well as the scalp (sensitive, dry, oily). The above suggestions can be a bit harsh, especially if your scalp is damaged or sensitive. Stress and diet as well as medications can affect hair fall, however genetics do play a strong role. Don't go overboard with dandruff shampoos, you may not need to use it everyday.
Avatar n tn One of the natural home made remedies for the oily scalp is the use of lemon juice on the scalp and waiting for half an hour before washing it off. It is supposed to be good both for the oily scalp as well dandruff if any. Avatar n tn I was prescribed Vyvanse around 5-6 months ago and take it on a regular basis (40mg). I was upped to 40mg about two months ago. I have had clumps of hair falling out, usually in the shower and can noticeably tell that my hair is thinning. I am a 22 year old Female and have never had this problem before. I have no other health problems to my knowledge. I'm currently in college, which is why stopping the Vyvanse just isn't an option right now.
Avatar n tn s happening to me as well, I have flaky stuff around my hairline and scalp, and through my hair. It shows everytime I wash and dry my hair and that's up I always have my hair up cause am embarrassed about it :( it really is ruining my life, I hardly go out because of it. I use the shame shampoo. Can anyone help?
Avatar m tn ve had an excessive oily skin and scalp. Throughout the 2006 treatment this condition never changed, I never became undetected. In the 2011 treatment the oiliness disappeared a few weeks before the first labs showed I'd become undetected. Skin/scalp remained normal through EOT up until a few weeks before my post tx PCR when it became oily again. The PCR showed I'd relapsed. It was only then that I'd made the connection that HCV had a role.
