vyvanse and anxiety

The BED was cured but my OCD symptoms and anxiety have gotten MUCH worse. I am unsure if my BED will come back if I go off of the Vyvanse. I am wondering if the BED was cured partly from the Vyvanse, and partly from going back on the Prozac, which may have helped me to stop obsessing about dieting.

Ie no anxiety ect, but that doesnt last, vyvanse is not used for controlling anxiety and often exacerbates it instead in some people

I would think sleep plays a big part in memory and levels of anxiety. Perhaps the vyvanse stimulation gets me so focused my breathing is shortened and anxiety develops. Since taking the Vyvanse I find it easier to get up in the morning. I'm more focused switched on and attentive. My drive is empowering and my self confidence has improved. I'll have a look at those sites tomorrow.

I am taking Vyvanse and Prozac, and I'm having trouble getting myself to eat. I am still in a healthy weight range, so I'm not worried about that. But I've been weak, fatigued, and dizzy at times because I'm not eating enough. Are there any protein shakes I should try, or something like that, so I can be getting the nutrients I need? I hate most protein shakes because I can't stand the texture, and they're usually gross. But I have to do something.

I am partially on Vyvanse because I cannot take any antidepressant whatsoever, which occurred about three to four years ago. No clue why. Thus, off Vyvanse, my depression returns to baseline. However, like many people with ADD, Vyvanse does not agitate me but rather calms me down. Thus, I suppose the answer could in part be a rebound effect in the case of both anxiety and depression? However, the morning attacks seem anxiety related.

My son who is 9 yrs old has started Vyvanse since January of this year. He is currently on about 25 mg of Vyvanse. The only thing that I don't like about it is that it takes a long time to kick in, like about 2.5 hours for my son. So often in the morning he will seem unfocused so will not do well during early 8am test. His doctor and I discussed trying Ritalin first in the morning and then adding Vyvanse, which is the reverse of what many people do.

My five year old son is diagnosed with adhd and generalized anxiety disorder. we have tried several meds. currently he is on 50 mg of vyvanse, 40 mg of citalopram and 2mg of abilify a day. his behavior is beyond horrible. should i just take him off meds?

Hello. I have recently been prescribed zoloft and dextroamfetamine (vyvanse). My dose has just been raised to 150 zoloft and 50 vyvanse. I am feeling dizzy, I'm sweating like crazy lying down in a cold room, and I've thrown up a few times since I took the increased dosages earlier today. Occasionally it feels like my heart has butterfly wings too. Am I just having panic attacks? I heard the dex can increase anxiety... I don't have insurance here...

He takes 50 mg of Vyvanse daily and was wondering if anyone has experienced this side effect with Vyvanse. Thank you.

Okay, I just want to start off by saying that there's going to be some matters in here in which I "completely" understand that they've been over before. Each case is unique and I hope that anybody who posts here understands that. Anyways, I've now been taking Vyvanse for, I would say about 3 weeks.

I agree that the two medications you are on seem like an odd combo. I took Adderall in the past but felt very jittery and anxious. Vyvanse does not give me that feeling. Additionally, although I was not looking for something to help with weight loss, I did lose quite a bit of weight. In other words, there may be 1 medication to solve both issues. Just a thought....

I have also dealt with anxiety and depression my whole life and am on 50mg Pristiq as well. Basically Efexxor but has a different pharmacology. When I got sober and was about 45 days clean I went into a deep clinical depression. I've always had "depression" but this was the first time I had it like this. So I went and visited a general practitioner that specializes in weight loss. He prescribed Vyvanse to take in the morning then before bed I am supposed to take Topamax (migraine medicine) and Trintellix (an antidepressant) as well as a diet. I started on the Vyvanse mostly b/c I also suffer from ADHD and it is really great so far for my attention at work.

I mean I can drive to the same destination over and over and still not remember the directions how to get there and home.

My experiences deployed left me with heightened anxiety, irritability, and anger. I started taking Vyvanse two years ago. I am skeptical of putting drugs in my body so I split the dosage in half; 20mg once a day. Within an hour I found myself to be in a much improved control over myself and I was able to concentrate and think clearly. I didn't clinch my teeth hardly at all and my wife shared my mood was substantially more positive and my outlook more optimistic.

After a period of time the xan no longer helped with my anxiety at all! And the fact of just knowing my anxiety was going to flare up at any point and my anti anxiety meds weren't gna help gave me even worse anxiety! He finally switch me to Valium five mg twice a day as needed and ambien for an as needed basis too and honestly I haven't felt this good and solid n years.

Neck and shoulder pain is common with anxiety too. A lot of people with anxiety will tense up and not even be aware that they are thus leading to anxiety about the pain.

For me, talk therapy, even if it is just once every couple of months (even when I am not experiencing any anxiety whatsoever) is a huge help in recognizing it and dealing with it when it comes up again...keep us posted!

ll go back to paying through the nose for the vyvanse. without a stimulant to make up for the fatigue the meds and the fibro and adrenal insufficiency cause me, i can hardly stay awake and get off the couch.------i hate this!!!!

But I do not think it would help with anxiety at all, and I would guess anxiety might be causing your heart rate to be rapid. The Wellbutrin is a stimulating anti-depressant. This makes it appropriate for adults with both ADD and depression. It has changed my life. Keep working with your doctor and find the right medication. Everyone's brain is different but there are a lot of options to try.

She was constantly biting or cutting her nails until her fingers and toes would bleed, pulling out her eyebrows, and more. She has been off the Vyvanse for almost one week and I am still seeing some OCD behavior. She had absolutely no signs of OCD prior to Vyvanse. This has just added to the problems we were trying to fix. After blogging this I discovered that there are many more people who have developed OCD while taking Vyvanse.

Hello, I also have adult ADD and I have tried both Concerta and Vyvanse. My doctor wanted me to try Concerta for a few weeks and I didn't like it at all. It didn't agree with me. It made it feel depressed and NOT motivated to do everyday things. I was on a 36 mg dose and when I went back to my doctor I told him I hated it. He mentioned that there is a new medication called Vyvanse and asked if I would like to try it. With nothing to lose, I said yes. I do like Vyvanse.
