Vyvanse and anxiety

Common Questions and Answers about Vyvanse and anxiety

vyvanse

My son has been takiing this med Vyvanse for adhd, so I decided to take it to see if it would help me with my depression and anxiety, and it worked great, I didn't have any side effect to it. This is why I ask if its okay to take Vyvanse for my anxiety, right now I'm taking celexa but its not doing nothing for me anymore. I've been taking Celexa for the past 3 yrs and I think its time for me to change my meds.
/ i feel really good for the first three to four hours and then major anxiety sets in and i get shaky and cold, chilled to the bone cold. I take 30 mg in the morning and im wondering if i need a higher dose or switch meds? Anyone??
i take vyvanse for adhd and xanax for panic/anxiety just fine. i don't take the xanax a lot since i started the vyvanse, it really helped with my anxiety. if your doctor prescribed them together he/she must think the combination of the two is o.k. but you need to ask your doctor. i also take lortab, soma, prozac, abilify and other meds with no problems but just make your doctor aware of all your meds. i'm on 50mg of vyvanse and don't have near the anxiety attacks i had before.
But I do not think it would help with anxiety at all, and I would guess anxiety might be causing your heart rate to be rapid. The Wellbutrin is a stimulating anti-depressant. This makes it appropriate for adults with both ADD and depression. It has changed my life. Keep working with your doctor and find the right medication. Everyone's brain is different but there are a lot of options to try.
His doctor put him on Vyvanse. He has since flunked out of 2 colleges due to the fact that he can't focus. He IS and has always been a very good athlete, playing football and basketball in high school and college. I assume that is due to the fast-pace of those sports. However, I am beginning to wonder if the Vyvanse is working on the problem. The doctor said that he has to get him on the right dosage and has been changing the strength.
I have experience this but not with Vyvanse if he has anxiety attacks and he under weight take he to his doctor ask him/her to change the meds. write back if it works shadowfluffy6 medhelp.
I am currently taking vyvanse in the morning and 0.5 mg ativan at night for anxiety. I am going for a pre employment drug screening next week, and I was wondering if the legal use of amphetamines and benzodiazepenes can be used against me. I know companies are really concerned about illegal drug use, but I just wondered if they can see the need for prescriptions as a weakness and withold the offer because of it .
I totally understand what you are saying,I think more adults who have addiction issues, depression, anxiety, feel socially awkward, should all go and get checked for adult ADHD.most people who have it usually where diagnosed as children. But alot aren't,and make it through but with alot of misery.a number of them become addicts.matter of fact vast majority of addicts where diagnosed, and some where not.
She is really pushing Vyvanse even though I told her I am an addict and one of my drugs of choice was Adderal which the Rehab says is actually "speed". Isn't Vyvance a type of "speed" also. I desperately want help but not enough to risk getting back into abusing yet another substance and give up my sobriety date. She says she will only give me 7 at a time which will keep me from getting addicted but I can still abuse. I need advise. This scares me. Thanks!
It is a stimulant, and would not usually have an effect on endocrine system, but sometimes anxiety does that, and this stimulant can cause anxiety.
I have been taking 300 mg of Wellbutrin and 30 mg of Vyvanse for about a year now and recently my heart has been racing (100-110 beats per minute after sitting on the couch for an hour) and I have been having minor chest pains. Also, I have been feeling "out of it" sometimes during the day, and experience dizziness, confusion etc. on occasion. I was wondering if this could be related to my medications and if there is need to be concerned about my heart rate.
I am taking Vyvanse and Prozac, and I'm having trouble getting myself to eat. I am still in a healthy weight range, so I'm not worried about that. But I've been weak, fatigued, and dizzy at times because I'm not eating enough. Are there any protein shakes I should try, or something like that, so I can be getting the nutrients I need? I hate most protein shakes because I can't stand the texture, and they're usually gross. But I have to do something.
Now I'm a wreck when on it I love to do tons of things and I'll even be happy when it wears off and worst when i run out It's like I cannot do anything at all and depression like I have never experienced before in my life and plus anxiety so bad that any and everything I worry about. Now I'm out of Vyvanse until the 2nd and please anybody help me be and act normal without this!
I got on Vyvanse last year and I had high blood pressure again. I stopped taking it for a while, but I was still having high blood pressure so my Dr. put me on Lisinopril 10 mg & HCTZ 25 mg. My BP has still been high on this, even off Vyvanse (I am taking it again now since I am back in school). I told my Dr. about my anxiety bc I get really stressed about little stuff and almost feel like I am going to have a breakdown. I used to be on Prozac, but didn't think it did anything.
It has helped alot with my focus and concentration but I get jitters, I have become socially awkward, my anxiety and depression has increased, and the crash I get from it gives me horrible headaches. The crash also makes me not want to be socially active. What should I do? and are there any other good ADHD meds that I should talk to my doctor about?
Hello, I also have adult ADD and I have tried both Concerta and Vyvanse. My doctor wanted me to try Concerta for a few weeks and I didn't like it at all. It didn't agree with me. It made it feel depressed and NOT motivated to do everyday things. I was on a 36 mg dose and when I went back to my doctor I told him I hated it. He mentioned that there is a new medication called Vyvanse and asked if I would like to try it. With nothing to lose, I said yes. I do like Vyvanse.
My 13 yr old son recently (20 days ago) started taking vyvanse 30 mg for ADD and Prozac 30mg for anxiety over learning disability in math. We have tried Adderal and Strattera but with little effect. These first weeks of school have been much much better than we could have hoped for. He gets up on his own, wants to get to school early, remembers what his homework assignments are, and is eager to get his homework finished.
Vyvanse 1xDay - 30mg Now we're in week 3 of my Vyvanse treatment and I'm experiencing some 'extreme' levels of anxiety. Basically I'm experiencing full blown 'panic attacks' almost everyday. I feel like I'm dying, going crazy, like my heart's going to explode, blah, blah, blah. It's miserable! So before somebody goes on and on about the high-risk of anxiety/panic episodes on these drugs, I know. I'm fully aware of this so there's no need to repeat it.
I am going to go off Vyvanse due to severe anxiety when crash hits. No dose seemed to fit for me. But, I lost the weight I was needing to lose (20 lbs) and if I go off Vyvanse, will it come back on with a vengance? I have heard hunger just is out of control when stopping this drug. So I am afraid to stay on it and I am afraid to go off it.
I've been taking his 40mg vyvanse here and there and it made me feel fantastic. Then last week I took one and I felt like how all of you were explaining. I shrugged it off and just thought it was a bad weekend. Well today I was prescribed vyvanse. I've taken my first 50mg and I don't think i'm going to take the rest. I know I should try and see this out and take the prescription, I highly doubt I am going to. Aderol seems like it is the correct drug for ADD if given in the right quantities.
At noon, after taking forever to get up and eat breakfast, I took the Vyvanse again. I could be exaggerating, but I felt, almost immediately, the surge of energy come back again. My eyes (especially my left) were left dilated. I was very childishly irritable with my father, and became hyperactive. It lasted for a while, and, just as quickly as it started, disappeared. While I was writing all of this, things got worse.
We started recently expierencing problems with anxiety and him becoming very edgy and after talking to his doctor they want to put him on another medicine to help the vyvanse. We did this when he was on Concerta too. (it didn't work) He complains of never eating lunch at school, (which has been since the beginning). My question is.... he only really needs the medication at school. since he is easily distracted.
To make a long story short. I haven't taken vyvanse for 3 months but have consistent chest pain which started when taking the drug. my blood pressure did go up when taking the drug so i was put on atenolol. I had since discontinued the drug (about 3 months ago) but the side effects continue . I have 24/7 tight chest. Anyone with similar experience, recommendations, etc?
i already have headache problems and aching muscles and anxiety and depression---all of which have gotten worse over the last several years. i'm thinking this medication has worn out it's welcome in my body---and, i don't seem to get the same help from it that i did originally. what do you all think?
She was constantly biting or cutting her nails until her fingers and toes would bleed, pulling out her eyebrows, and more. She has been off the Vyvanse for almost one week and I am still seeing some OCD behavior. She had absolutely no signs of OCD prior to Vyvanse. This has just added to the problems we were trying to fix. After blogging this I discovered that there are many more people who have developed OCD while taking Vyvanse.
I recently had to switch my add meds from adderall xr to vyvanse and I am on day 2 and I feel like I havnt taken anything. I am extremely tired, have anxiety with everything going on around me at once, and I cant concentrate at all, I walked around my kitchen for 15 minutes not knowing why i wass but knew there was a reason then finally got my car keys that i was needing to get in the first place.
