you could have a yeast infection but im not sure that affects your period. they are easy to get rid of. you should tell your mom about it and have her get you some over the counter medication for it.

It sounds like you have a yeast infection which albothyl suppositories work well on. I would use it as your doctor prescribed.

I am 22 and have a yeast infection around my vagina which has spread a bit upwards towards the clitoris. i used an OTC cream which didn't cure it all through. I cannot see a doctor due to some problems. Could you please help me as i am married and it becomes a bit embarrassing. Please help. As far as I know it was nothing but I would talk to your doctor tomorrow. I know I did end up having a urinary infection and a yeast infection sometime after seeing the discharge because I never told anybody. sounds to me like just a yeast infection, you can purchase meds for that over the counter. The generic brands work just as good.

You need to get a complete STD panel done. A vaginal swab should be cultured. If you have a discharge too it could be either of thrush or fungal infection, bacterial infection, or trichomonas infection.

A doctor may also give you better medication to treat an infection then what you would get at the drugstore.

Possible that it is a yeast infection. Get the one with the pill and the cream. That way the pill treats from the inside and the cream will relieve you of the chronic itching. Make sure you regularly drink plenty of water, I find that some prescriptions will cause yeast infections. If it keeps occurring, maybe talk to your doc about switching meds that won't cause this.

That symptom was replaced by itching of my clitoris and external surrounding areas, there was no abnormal discharge , i researched it on the internet and i figure that i have a yeast infection. Welcome to the STD forum. Your symptoms are quite nonspecific -- there may be nothing abnormal going on at all; or you could have a yeast infection, chlamydia, or other STD. Herpes isn't very likely, based only on these symptoms -- and since you have tested negative for herpes, you can be quite sure you don't have it. (The symptoms you described on the herpes community forum in 2008 could have been caused by herpes, so I'm glad to hear that subsequent tests for it were negative.
