Avatar f tn Zoo officials said zebras are born with brown and white stripes and the brown will darken to black when she is between nine and 18 months old. The baby, which hasn't been named yet, was born Saturday and now weighs 79 pounds. Her mom is Jet and dad is Zanthus. This is their third offspring. Coming up on KMBC 9 News at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. we will have more on the new zebra at the zoo. ...................... to see this cute little zebra follow the link or do a google, etc.
Avatar f tn I am 23 years old, average weight and moderate exercise, and I have IBS-D with GI malabsorption, functional nausea/vomiting, PTSD, and panic disorder. My heart rate and BP tend to run low (40-60 bpm and 100-110/50-60 mmHg). I take Celexa 40mg daily. I've had blood work done, several EKGs, an echocardiogram, and wore a holter monitor for 30 days and everything looked perfectly normal.
Avatar f tn We're doing princess and butterflies mixing together since it matches(:

501096 tn?1320874932 About a month before my last baby was born, I developed high blood pressure (never had ANY trouble in the past even in 3 other pgs). I was induced 2.5w early because of it and ended up back in the ER 9d after the birth with an even higher BP and was diagnosed with a UTI. Since then I have been off and on labetalol for my BP, have had several spikes in my BP (sometimes nearing 200's), have had yet another UTI, and have switched to Verapamil.
975514 tn?1324997938 You have probably heard that docs are trained to look for horses if they hear hoof beats, not zebras. Many of the folks here are zebras. That makes getting a diagnosis harder and also means you are regularly greeted with suprise by new docs. It certainly can make things tougher. Being your own advocate will get you through.
4700214 tn?1361170956 A doctor once told me 'think horses, not Zebras'. Let's start with something benign. Could your daughter have trapped gas or be constipated? Secondly, she's a bit young, but gall bladder can cause upper chest area pain and abdominal pain which can last 5 minutes to hours and hours. It's an awful pain. Ask about her bowel habits and if that's all fine, I'd see the doctor just to be safe.
Avatar f tn Hi, Jules. I know about the horses and zebras thing, but I'm not sure how it applies to you. If you have lots of MS indicators and they are looking at MS as a diagnosis, that would make you a horse. The 'obvious' thing, based on observations. If they were trying to give you some obscure diagnosis of a rare disease when MS was staring them in the face, then they would be trying to make you into a zebra. However, I may have missed something important here.
887907 tn?1243586547 Bob- I am not a conspiracy theorist however it is definitely easy to see that the medical community is trained to look for horses and we come in as zebras, when we prove to them we are zebras they go no you are horses because we are doctors we cant be wrong we save lives.
1259963 tn?1284484960 I have CVID that took eighteen years from just physical onset to get properly diagnosed. I'm thirty eight and just had my third round of IVIG. I HAVE...before my physical tearing I call it been a nearly professional athlete and I didn't see fit to mention the chronic infection life I can go back to recall about age ten. My dad said we had prefect noses cute and Basque therefore small nasal passages....Who knew..
Avatar f tn I wasn't worried about the rare form, just curious because I had never heard of it. I found it very interesting that a team of NIH doctors have the individual for a week and only 2 people were actually dx'd! It's no wonder we are all doing the limbo for so long!! As part of health care reform, diagnostics need to be addressed. With so much new technology, there should be an alogrithm of some sort that docs can use to find diagnosis'.
Avatar n tn My question is this: Could this be something simple that the doctors are just overlooking? It is possible that the specialists are only looking for zebras but fail to see a simple problem.. like eyeball shape? Here is why I am asking: My vision has been slowly changing (myopic) over the past years as well as a gradual increase in these entoptic phenomenon like symptoms over the same time frame. Could these symptoms be due to the shape of my eyeball changing in another axis?
Avatar f tn My first trimester I stayed sick. Vomiting and migraines. Try eating some crackers before you ever get out of bed. I've heard that works pretty good. Other then that talk to your doctor there is nausea med that doesn't make you drowsy. You can also ask your pharmacist as well. There are also these things call sea bands. They do look like sweat bands for your wrist but they actually put pressure on some pressure points in your wrist that help with nausea. Good luck to you.
